Mohammed died 1381 years ago,yet people keep banging on about him.The same applies to Jesus to make it more balanced.What Nkrumah did for Ghana was phenomenal and people have every right to put him on a pedestal.Thanks

Surely, the comparisons made here re: Afrocentric and anti-Afrocentric ideological stance(s) and leadership savvy (or non-savvy), particularly those between Ghana's former leaders, Nkrumah and Busia - even if we don't agree with every statement made - should serve as a point of reference in our future dealings with the West. What benefit does one get from being "The Greatest African," you ask? The benefit is to be found in the collection of unique individual qualities the voters most admired about their choice. If we could emulate some of those qualities collectively, imagine where our country would reach economically, socially, and politically? Are we serious about making our country better? Then let's change our attitude here and now. There is much research and information gone into this essay and to dismiss it as mere "nonsense" speaks volumes about your sense of fairness, Shamu. If there is a falsehood stated here, it behooves you to rebut it, expose the truth as you know it; but please, flippancy in light of a serious topic such as this only retards our collective progress. Remember, Ghana first, and ego....ah,well, Shamu!

Haba Francis K, just take it easy. I love the way you present your arguments but your problem is you want to put all your proteins ie fish meat, vegs, eggs, etc in one soup pot. This makes consumption difficult.

Your points are long-winding and muddled, Kwarteng.In any case You seem to glorify Nkrumah policy of Confrontation and War-mongering and condemn Busia's Dialogue and Non Violence approach to solve the apartheid problem in the 1960's. So I ask, which of the policies finally won the day as as far as Apartheid Stoppage was condemned. The matter dragged on and on and in the end the problem was solved peacefully through DIALOGUE eventually. So Busia thinking was natural,prophectic, christian-like and superior than the Takashie, War-War, confrontational stand by Nkrumah. So who is who,Kwarteng? The fixation on Nkrumah is turning some people mad.

All wars end with some dialogue. That's what happened with the release of Mandela, when the racists had their backs against the wall.
