  You hit it right on the head. Perhaps I am more inclined to agree with you because I am also a resident in the United States. But the institutional issues you intelligently raised in your piece are the ones that drive visiting Ghanains nuts when they interface with the bureaucracy. It's painfully sad when some us recount our individual experiences. Thank you Umar.

  The writer surely made my day. When I made the mistake of trying to go to Ghana for good, it's exactly the kind of problem the writer mentioned above that had me pack up and run back to Yankee land.

  I am living in Ghana and see it more succinctly the situation you have put on the plate. Most Ghanians will rise to the support of politician even if the politician has stolen a fowl just because of party or kinship. We ask for from school fees to hospital bills and are totally compromised. The solution is in taking each other to task. Thanks for a good piece.

  GHANAIANS need to go to the street and demonstrate against the government about the economy problems but they stay at home and make noise why the need referendum now
