  What you have written about Winneba is true of most towns in Ghana. The water running through the pipes in Dansoman and that half of Accra has smelt very badly for years.
  
  The reason why the people of Ghana have been suffering such indignities is that while our visionless politicians only think of themselves and cronies (read Mahama's fibs about his brother's loans, for instance), we the people do not give a damn, as long as the politicians come round with their bowls of broken rice every four years!

  The writer claims that his investigation indicated that the water company workers pilfer/steal the chemicals to sell to private individuals who I believe are fully aware that they are purchasing stolen goods. Moreover, the criminals do not care monkeys if their actions are detrimental to the rest of us, including their own families and friends. Is it not ironical that they are the same spineless individuals who will claim that the leaders are corrupt?

  The chemicals for treating our waters are stolen and sold to private water companies by our OWN brothers and sisters who work in these institutions.. and yet every Sunday we see them in churches, in Ghana every one is corrupt

  Even though the Water Works are not functioning properly, because Winneba like Cape Coast, water is hard to come by. Winneba sits on sedimentary rocks and stones. Rock unlike sand (not mud) smells during friction when underground water runs through.
  
  The two Universities of Science (Cape Coast and Kumasi have failed the nation. They have not lived up to their names and have become national waste. No trained personnel to undertake practical jobs or research into quality water provision.
  
  I dispute the forecast that by 2050 our population will hit 40 million. This will not happen,because the rate Ghanaians are dying including children it is impossible to achieve that forecast. I visited Winneba Government Hospital and within 10 mins. 6 people died. I was shocked.
  
  I have a house in Winneba.

  EMBEZZLEMEMNT AND STEALING OF GOVERNMENT RESOURCES BY GOVERNMEMNT OFFICIALS AND POLITICIANS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN USED TO ADDRESS THESE IMPORTANT ISSUES IN THE COUNTRY.
  
  JUST IMAGINE THE JUDEGEMENT DEBTS AS A RESULT OF DUBIOUS AND FICTITIOUS CONTRACTS,THE SALE OF THE DRILL SHIP,GYEEDA, SADA AND THE SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMME WHICH WERE ALL AFFECTED BY CORRUPT PRACTICES OF THE NPP GOVERNMEMNT FROM 2200-2008.
  
  ALL THESE FUNDS COULD HAVE BEEN USED TO DEVELOP THE INFRASTRUCTURE AND TO STIMULATE ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE COUNTRY.
  
  WHERE ARE THE SO CALLED EDUCATED.THEY STILL WANT TO BE FED BY THE GOVERNMEMNT.
  
  WE MUST BLAME OURSELVES FOR OUR CONTINUED BACKWARDNES,UNDERDEVELOMENT AND EXTREME POVERTY IN GHANA.
