  The future of Ghana rests with a United Africa.Africa so strong economically,politically,culturally,intellectually.With over a billion people on the continent and considering the huge and valuable resources,it will take bold leadership and political will to transform the entire continent into paradise for all humanity to benefit .The right investment in the right sectors,especially on the industrial,manufacturing.scientific and technological fronts will go a long way to push Africa into a global power house.

  I live in Europe and think AU has already more than peace and so on to act, they are alredy involved in economy, as when export fee has to me payed to AU and Ghana for export Ghanian stoff. Africa is a close contries as is involved together alredy , if it be as BRIC as is diffrent from each other is not so good , ok BRIC is countries as ius strong economic unit , but why refuse the idea about AU africa has much to do in the world by economi DONT FORGET THIS.

Africa has yet to build institutions and it does not make sense to have EU type of union and leave individual countries to build redundant institutions.
  I am glad you shared your sentiments. Many in Africa agree with you. I just see it differently. If you get the chance, read my past article on Ghana leaving the AU.

The idea of seeing a nigerian as "a brother" gives me goose pimples, to be honest. they are a very wicked bunch

  Never lived in Nigeria. I left Ghana long before going to Nigeria was in fashion. I will be happy to experience the hatred on their website. Thanks. I will go there. Don't give up hope though.

  Ghana should concentrate to build the Country well in every aspect of development, food security,enviable services(electricity, water ). first class Hospitals with EMS(emergency services)first class Housings
  for the ordinary people,eradicate mosquitoes,
  build standard drainage systems in every City & Town,Cater for the Sick,the Elderly,the Disabled and give benefits assistance to the poor in Ghana, etc etc before we make an attempt to Consider such move.
  Not until we put all these mentioned above and
  more in place, please Stop to day dreaming .

  Mr. JH: Though I didn't discuss it in the article, the whole idea is to make it possible for address what you have enumerated. Take for instance health care; we will be better able to build better hospitals in critical regions that will take most critical health care needs if we are united than if we are not. We will have greater pool of people in our health insurance pool that will make it easier to balance out those in the pool who need more care and those who need little to no care. Increase trade will provide more employment etc. If we are able to solve our problems, then we certainly don't need the unity. I might add that even the US continues to have poverty though not quite like ours.
