  Listening to music and news commentaries as well as phone in programmes should be disallowed in Public transports. Its likely that these drivers loose concentration when they become totally immersed in such programmes. Let us educate passengers to take control of their own safety when they are in over speeding or reckless driving vehicles. CCT cameras should be mounted on accident prune roads to check over speeding. The police unit should be overhauled. The top management should be vetted to check corruption in their operations. The media should start tracking police officers who take bribe from drivers on our roads with video evidences so that necessary disciplinary actions will be taken against culprit officers.

  We can pray until the saliva finishes from our mouths, that will never save us from our problems. We should rather concentrate on finding practical means to stop vehicular accidents, fires, rape and the other ills that plague us and leave god out of this.

  The only way prayers can help is to make us feel they are helping us. It is a psychological feeling that can be positive. And this has nothing to do with if there actually is God or not - something nobody knows the answer to. Those Ghanaians who feel they can solve things by praying can continue doing so if it makes them feel fine.
  
  Those who don't believe that salvation will come from on high through prayers will also spend all their time trying to find practical solutions.

  I applaud Steven Atta Owusu for his wonderful contribution on problem solving of our continent Africa and in my opinion The Sub-Saharan Africa. While having an enormous respect for the former President of Ghana who unlike the grreedy, selfish and pot bellied African leaders after takiing power selfleselly held a referendum and finally Ghanians were granted their birth right for a multiparty system and also most importantely freedom of speech. The freedom of speech in Ghana is exemplary to the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa and in particular to countries like Ethiopia and Eritrea where an intellectual or a proffesional journalist writes in good will on how to make the country doing better is thrown to jail under the so-called ”Anti-terrerism Law”. What a sham. And, for the reason hundreds and maybe even thousands are languishing in one of the most non hygienic and dirty prisons packed like sardine where the prison ward is using the same blade to shave the hair of each and every prisonor including those intellectuals in the same prison for political reason. Ethiopia like Eritrea is a country like the former Cambodia's Pol Pot regime. But since the voiceless can not be heard though countries like the U.S.A knows because of their anti-terror war in Somalia shamfully are mute and deaf and only write their usual nonsensical State Departments annual report.
  To go back to Stevens article I reiterate that he must be applauded for some of the serious problems in Ghana which is the same problem that each and every Sub-Saharan African country is facing: Murder; robbery; Rape; Child (and also adult prostitution); The irresponsibility of Ghanian ”businessman” and the irresponsible; inept and corrupt government officials from the lawer rank of custom and transportation authority who import to Ghana similar to Ethiopia vehicles that will never pass the annual obligatory check-up for individuals and the peoples saftey.
  All the above issues that Steven has raised needs a much more deeper analysis going through each issue both from the medical point of view, saftey and cost and loss but also it has to be pedantically analyzed and supported by facts and statistics so that also even a layman will be able to really understand the serious danger they pose but also from financial point of view on how costely they are and how the money can be used for the well being of our people in Sub-Saharan Africa. I hope the publisher will allow me to post an article in the near future concerning all the above problems and remedies.
  History teaches us that while in majority cases Europeans with a military attack on nAfrican shores and interior have been engaged in human flesh trade = the Atlantic slave trade but we have to be honest to ourselves also that there were so many Africans that sold their fathers and mothers; brothers and sisters to Europeans for trinkets and gewgaws and pots full of holes which ended up to be the greatest holocaust of all times in human history dwarfing the Jews holocaust by Hitler. After all The Atlantic slave trade and the over 450 years of African's working for free in captivity and the Lynching of African's just for fun which lasted till 50 years ago finally with the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King senior. By the way till lately I was misled that though some of the Ethiopian kings fought aganist the slave trade by the Arabs who were engaged in the slave trade as middle men, In North Eritreans and the state immidietely south of Eriytrea The Tigryans were actively enaged in selling our dark skin Ethiopian fathers and mothers; brothers and sisters to the Arabs. What an irony? Arabia or today's Saudi Arabia use to be a vassal state (a colony) of The Axumite Empire of Ethiopia till the day's of the grand father of Muhammed the Arabian profet by the name Abdul Motaleb. But these same descendants of that mighty empire which use to be the third superpower in the world between the Roman Empire and Persia degraded and degenerated into such shamful dirty act and sailing together with the arabs invading the then Zanzibar which later with the union of Tanganika and Zanzibar a country we know todat as Tanzania was born in post colonialist era.
  Furthermore, Steven writes about homeless children which again is also a problem in almost all Sub-Saharan Africa.
  Why are those so-called businessman; government employees and politician are so heartless and mindless. I can't understand.
