You should be ashamed of yourself for coming up for political air with this nonsense. I have read the full speech and solutions to the problems caused by the NDC are implicit in the ways that the great Dr. problematized the NDC rule in the last five years or so. Bear in mind this was not a policy speech. It was an address and considering the tyranny of time, he could not have itemized every solution that one could wish for.
You write "It seems to me that Dr. Bawumia is just like his running mate. They seem to believe that slogans will win them the presidency and the fact that "Free SHS" didn't get them there did not change anything"
The above is an intellectual thrash with all the pomp of stupid pageantry. Now what solid policy statements did Mahama give to Ghanaians! He did not even have a slogan. Saying "Vote for me I am Noetherner" is not even sloganeering; it is reductionist "tribalism" at its worse!
Don't allow politics to blind you; seek objectivity at all times and you will sound intelligent one of these days.

The problem with NDC followers is they don't read with their brains, their brains have been taken away by their leaders. We should pray to God for them to recover brains or else they will always resort to insults.

Your grandfather is telling you something vital in proverbs and you are saying that you are going to ask your father and that is what NDC is always taking Dr Bawumia for but the secret is that anything he says it surely happens and the same idiots from NDC will now come to the public and make a propaganda about that. Dr Bawumia warned NDC that Ghana's economy is sinking before 2012 general elections. Someone like Asiedu Nketiah. Obetwani General Secretary for NDC insulted Doctor and then later on the so called president Mahama has to come and told Ghanaians that our meats have finished and it has left with bones yet foolish people in Ghana still singing praises to opepeni president John Dramani Mahama AKA Akonfem hene, kronfo3 wudini, atopa sisimude Mahama,Mr gold dealer. Mese etan na ebon kankan kan wo Ghana. Ebei!

Ndc is a party that has earned notoriety for snatching other parties' intellectual properties and propagandistically (prof. Ahoofe)claiming those ideas as their bonafide contrivance.eg.Nothern Devt Authority-SADA,NYEP-Gyeeda Jubilee House-FlagStaff etc. In my candid opinion, Dr. Bawumia is a savvy politician who fully apprehends this fact and will not fall to NDC instigated machinations as your article seeks to do. The Ghanaian people are complaining daily for having seen any new solution to problems after having been promised a better Ghana for five years spanning. I strongly believe the NDC is conscious of this fact and they are trying to irk out the ideas from their think tank the NPP since it is only political neophytes who does not know how mischievous the NDC can be.

Then, perhaps, there was no need at all for Tony to write this "intellectual thrash with all the pomp of stupid pageantry".
Some people agree with Tony's reasoning. Are we not all looking at things through specific (partisan) lenses?

Spot on!! Let's shift from the blame game that enumerates problems to fashioning solutions to improve our systems. What appalled me most about Bawumia's delivery is how he run-down state institutions - the electoral commission and the supreme court - in a vain attempt to justify their failed attempt to win power through the backdoor. How can such a person claim to love Ghana when those institutions have guided and protected our democracy for 2 decades now. Bawumia forgot that the same EC put them in power in 2000 and that the service of the foot being once gangrened should still be respected for what before it was. If the EC and SC need reforms,Bawumia should make suggestions and justify them, not run them down. No country can function without trusting the services of these institutions and for Bawumia to suggest that once their petition was not accepted then it's useless going to court to seek justice in disputed elections,is unfortunate. A war path for aggrieved parties in future disputed elections has been drawn and that is disappointing for somebody who claims a high level of intelligence.

I am highly impressed by this article,Ghana needs solutions not blame games and talk fests. The banker turned politician is creating the wrong impression as he misled the opposition party to the supreme court with nothing but "you and i were not there".Mr. Bawumia thinks,he is the best thing to ever happen in the NPP,he owes the NPP a mighty apology for misleading them.In any serious party, Bawumia would belong to the history books. The whole world now knows Bawumia is not politically credible,he is shifty. He tried to use his knowledge in figures to outsmart the NDC and the supreme court but he got sucked in.

IN PLANNING, YOU HAVE AREAS FOR HOUSING, COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRY. URBAN SPRAWL IS WHAT WE ARE CREATING IN GHANA. IT IS COSTING US MORE TO PROVIDE FOR UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION BECAUSE OF OUR BAD PLANNING POLICIES. GOVERNMENT MUST INVITE ALL LAND OWNERS WITH THE VIEW TO COORDINATE THE PLANNING OF GHANA'S TOWNS USING ADVANCED AND CURRENT METHODOLOGY IN URBAN PLANNING.

They may be better than me. I will love to see them show that they are better at providing solutions to Ghana's problems and so far I don't believe I have seen it. If we weren't quick to get star-struck with Dr and PhD's we'd demand more from these people and Ghana would get value for her money. So far, Ghana has been the loser and I will demand substance from them. Nobody told them to be politicians. If they don't want to be questioned because they are better than us, they shouldn't be asking us to vote for them. If you had an argument to make, Mr. JM, you'd make it rather than to call names.
