Here am I at work in New York City, looking out the windows drinking in the cascading beauty of the falling snow. Even though it looks beautiful, it's only the beginning of a winter storm in the Tri-State area, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut lasting from 9am this morning to 6am tomorrow morning.
The forecast says it's going to be "huhuudious".
I'm pondering about how New Yorkers will get home tonight and how they will get back to work tomorrow. As a result, I went to find out from the M.T.A (Metropolitan Transit Authority) website. This Authority is responsible for conveying over two million people each day to and from work in New York City by train and buses.
The website assures New Yorkers a great commute this evening and tomorrow morning in spite of this monster storm.
As I sat there, I started thinking of Ghana my Mother land. If this storm was to be in Ghana, how would we have handle it? Will we be capable?
These and other issues are worrying, but instead of us thinking of how these folks got where they are today, here we are, engaged in tribal warfare like our primitive ancestors.
Calling each other names. Your tribe to you could be the wisest in Ghana, but truth be told, we are behind times . Still farming with the implements our ancestors used.
Shame on us for fighting over non issues.

Tell us what tribe in Ghana that Ashantis admire and recognize except themselves? Even within Ashanti region where we all speak the same language, Kumasi people do not recognize Amansie, Adansi, Kwabere etc. as Ashantis. So what is Adofo talking about like NDC hates Ashantis. I want to correct your ill-conception but admit and appreciate that Ashantis should be proud to be the pace-setters than this political talks. NDC is a includes all tribes so the Ashanti members cannot hate themselves but people like you who portray that anomaly. You should stop because it has never helped you in the last two elections. The problems observed need to be rectified so that they are not repeated. Don't just respond to issues without analyzing it. I see your problem. If it is taking too long in the Ashanti region, just write to the institution and ask, or you can consult any of the MPs in the region to ask. The government works for all and not only you by calling to tell only you. Stop your hatred because I do not hate anybody but trying to open the eyes of people like you and Adofo. I have followed your usual insults heap on the Ashantihene and i must say they are in bad test. You are found of insulting the overlord of Ashanti any time you get the opportunity. What many tribal zealous like you don't know is that, at all times, NDC gets their third biggest votes from Ashanti region.
NDC always get their highest votes in Greater Accra followed by Volta, the third biggest votes always comes from Ashanti region with Northern region following behind. So, if NDC should hate any region, it would certainly not be Ashanti region where NDC only need between 25% to 30% votes to win any election in this country.

Let me make it abundantly clear to your timid mind that there is a difference between calling someone names and hating the person . When it comes to calling names, every tribe in Ghana is guilty. However, if you have moved with other tribes in Ghana, then you will understand what that gentleman is saying. There is a problem in Ghana which we should not sweep it under the carpet. We must address it before it come to hunt us in future.

Do you want to tell me that the pilot scheme has caused the killing of people in Ashanti region? Of course not. Since Ashanti region is the most populated region in Ghana, death toll will also be higher than any other region. You rather did not understand the article. Adofo portrays that NDC government is intentionally using pilot scheme to punish Ashantis which I bet to differ. The president was bred in Kumasi, other party members come from Kumasi so there is no way they will try to kill Ashantis. Yes, there must be problems but stop using it as a bait to gain cheap political credit. A reason why I wrote to comment on the article. No government will like his people to die for political sake. We are not in a revolution but democratic era. The MPs job is to ensure that such issues are discussed in parliament and not people like Adofo and you. If you have concerns, you can write to your MP or the institution involved for answers. This forum is not the place dilute peoples minds with your lies things you do not know. Ashanti boast of a population that include every tribe in Ghana so for a project or program like the NHIS, Ashanti region is the best place to begin. Even here in the US, capitation is a problem because what the insurance companies pay is so small that some doctors don't take some patients. Don't politicize the scheme by writing this type of article when your knowledge is short to some degree. You are wrong on your analysis.

If you agree that Ashanti Region is NOT BOAST the region with almost every tribe living there what the Government should have done was to have taken a small area in e.g. Kumasi to do their so-called PILOT SCHEME.Do you have every tribe living in ALL PARTS of As. Region? Certainly not. It was a grand scheme to punish the Region. You take a small area to do the pilot programme and you extrapolate the results. Accra would have been the perfect Area for such an exercise.Why because of its size, population,logistics and a whole lot of advantages. Taking the whole population of Ash Region to do this was to say the least the MOST FOOLISH APPROACH.
