Interesting piece and food for thought. Think tanks, over to you!Both Algeria and Morocco are close friends of Ghana. The Sahara issue has been quite divisive. Delicate but need for pragmatism and forward looking ideas!

Moroccans refer to you as Africans. They don't even consider themselves as Africans and rightfully so. A Ghanaian intellectual will not hesitate to clean toilets in other countries. They want it now, and now. Start being self reliant. Moroccans did not give in to slave trade (hell no), but you did. You people will one day become totally useless to the rest of the world. What natural resources does Morocco has besides Cows, fish and belly dancers? Yet look at how much you import from that country( 60 mil to 3 mil?). Always slaving away in other countries. Why? Sardines that they throw away or consider as food for the poor is what you grab like it is going out of style. Black Africans are lazy, but demand instant gratification. Nobody wants to sacrifice for long term growth, so everything is short term. Rulers are corrupt, and you have been blinded to think that corruption is part of your culture. So you sit still waiting for God to save you from thieves. Yes, Morocco is big on tourism, and you have your slave castles to display...fruits of your hard work. A Moroccan puts a label on a leather bag and the world parade around it, and pays good money for it. They have achieved respect and trust. Ghana made bag sits in the dog house. You don't even have time to refine your products. Need it quick and now. Oil will not do a damn thing for you until you change yourselves and your stinking mentalities. Ghana....great Ghana going down in memory lane. The Brazil of Africa? Seriously? You shamefully align yourself with another country after achieving something wonderful on the world stage in soccer.

Algeria and khadafi of Libya want part of it , but now only Algeria is in a play against morocco , because they are very jealous of stable morocco economically culturally and also morocco did always respect all the African nations and never create problems for them like Algeria did and still do . Ghana is smart enough to be close to morocco it for the benefit of both nations and for the hall continent .

Morocco is not a member of the African Union for her colonial policy on Western Sahara. Ghana has always supported national liberation movements from 1958 All African People's Conference, held in Accra.

KWAME, you are dead right. Morocco provides a few scholarship to Ghana in order to have our support and I hope thevMahama administration would not betray our trust. We must focus on genuine development looking first inward. Our educational system makes us think inferior. It is the Morrocans and others who destroyed old Ghana, burnt the capital Kumbe Salle just like the British did to Coomase now Kumasi in 1874 led by Sir Garnet Worsen. KWAME, I salute you. The author of the paper is well learned the lesson. Before his main goal, apparently hi want to sell us a fully interested image of Morocco. It seems that he wants to pass a message: ''the Moroccan thesis on Western Sahara issue''. It's a pure propaganda. This is not the first time he does it. In a previous pamphlet (see Ghana web of 04/11/2013) he uses the same method. Taking advantage of the fact that the referee team of the football match Ghana/Egypt in Kumasi was of Moroccan origin, he started talking about football to finish asking Ghanaians to support the occupation of Western Sahara by Morocco. Yes, freedom of opinion is sacred but I don't think pamphlets like this could help to a serene and impartial debate.

This article is ludicrous, Morroco is not even part of the African Union and we can all see how they treat African migrants trying to get to Europe, Morocco occupies western Sahara like a colony and as Africans we need to fight against it. People there are regularly beaten, arrested and tried by military courts and in prison sometimes raped. Just because Morocco has money does not mean we drop our ethics on the floor. The fact that this author claims that no state from Europe or north America recognises the Sahrawi Arab democratic republic? DO Africans opinion not even matter? This article is pure propaganda from the Moroccan state. and we would be wise to realise that.

SA wants all African political hegemony and is sided by the corrupt regime in Algeria. The majority of Algerians are Berbers in origins, but a majority identifies with an Arabic-based culture. Berbers are divided into many groups with varying languages. The largest of these are the Kabyles, who live in the Kabylie region east of Algiers, the Chaoui of North-East Algeria, the Tuaregs in the southern desert and the Shenwa people of North Algeria.
But I need your help to understand why a Berber will separate from another Berber ... religion? economy? Language? History? on what basis? got it Politics....but that cannot not work because everyone hate politicians.
