Adolfo, the problem with you and your ilk is that you never make sense, no matter what language you communicate in. Especially that mambo jumbo Twi language. This inferiority complex among certain Ghanaians is the reason why they have used power by numbers to force the Twi language into our entire modern day fabric, and there-in lies our decline. Ghana has become as ill-educated, ill-mannered, ill-cultured and backward as ever, since the invasion of Akanism in the Greater Accra Ga-Adangme enclave.

The sad truth is 80% of he people who speak Twi are still considered illiterate in their very own specific dialects. Please walk the streets of Accra and record any conversation in Twi, and come back and replay any that has a sound and intellectual discussion. Listen to Twi commentators on TV and tell me which really makes sense in whatever they purport to be discussing. Ironically, the tactics is to try and duplicate what is done in English or the West using Twi as a backdrop as best as possible, yet every single one of those ethnocentric jokers throw in so much English words and phrases because Twi lacks the substance to ever be considered a language of any significance, so I must say is Ga, Ewe Hausa and others.

You Adolfo are not very bright, and by nature a selective thinker. If you consider all subject matters, one should argue that why must a Ghanaian excel in Mathematics, Science and Technology, Economics and several other areas of Academia, because WE ARE NOT EBGLISH MEN, neither are me MATHEMATICIANS, MUSICIANS(yes real written music), GEOLOGISTS.

Try as you may, Adolfo, you will never match the English language if you cut off all the tongues of those eloquent ones among us. Who forced you to sign in here and type your crap in ENGLISH. Why did you not log into a TWI FORUM and type your message in Twi?

Ignorant jerk. Kuffuor is handicapped, how he made it to Oxford only Kankan knows, so do must of you. After all more of you send your kids to the UK and US so they can polish their image, personality and speech patterns, so go ahead have your twisted and myopic opinion.

Let me also draw your attention that Accra is the capital of Ghana and about 60-70& of the country's(all Ghanains) resources are spent there.

For the same reasons why you abhor the English language because it is foreign to you, so would the Ga-Adangme speaking people abhor the mass invasion of their territories to Twi speaking citizens. You people come up with so many ignorant reasons why it is a different matter. Well, the English colonized us and managed to forge a society in which we had to be trained to live together, then left us as a social experiment to observe. Now we live like the animals they came to tame. Why can't you speak Ga, Ewe or Hausa, if you can ponder why a Ghanaian can't speak Twi?

This is not a suggestion, it is an order - Every school going child in the Greater Accra region must study the Ga language and culture, Every school going child in the Volta Region must study Ewe language and culture, in the Northern Region and Akan regions same must apply. If you do not wish to mix with any ethnic group, please remain in your enclave, segregated among your own. This is the only way Ghanaians will quickly erase all these complexes they harbor about language. They would even come to recognize the insignificance of the English language with time. Unfortunately, majority of us are cursed, and the only way to civility is either by brute force or to be colonized by some superior intelligence.

The only mistake is that most illiterate Ghanaian immigrants do not see the difference when their offsprings are speaking the western world street language. They never in a million years dreamt of their children being able to speak english and therefore would prefer the child to speak with the western accent and bad english to the child being raised in ghana and speaking good english with a Ghanaian accent.

Even some go the extent of believing the primary and secondary education in the west is better than what we have in Ghana, so sad.

Kufuor is an exception. He was brought up in an era where good english was a given even if you went to "cyto" for primary education. He should know better than what he's capable of right now. Did he not attend Oxford for crying out loud. Omg, why did I have to go there ....

I have lived in US for the past 5 years or so any have observed that even the so call native English speakers make countles number of so called grammatical errors but the question is who cares about your grammar?. How many of the so call professors of English have been able to solve our economic crisis? Strangely enough, those who criticize people who can't speak the English language properly are economically the poorest in our country. So at the of the day, what does your so call good gramer or whatever give you? Abject poverty. The Chinese people do not speak proper English, yet being proud with your language, they are able to invent so many things and today, almost every country around the globe including Ghana go to them for economic relief.

Fellow Ghanaians, it's high time we changed our perception about those who by no fault of theirs can't speak some one's language properly, let's put a stop to ridiculing ourselves for just a mere fact, that I couldn't speak someone's language properly.

Spanish is even the second official language of America, but who cares to speak it and even speak it grammatically well?.

Just checking, not that it would matter, in this discussion, bu I do recall studying a bit of Latin, and a little bit of French, in all of these languages, there is an art to it. It portrays higher intelligence, and a systematic way of expressing yourself. Ga-Adangme lacks it, Ewe lacks it, Twi lacks it, I don't know about Hausa. No local Ghanaian language will ever vanish into thin air, but never can any of these replace the universal English language

Generally all french colonies' use of french language is far better than Ghanaians English usage. Gleaning from french West African websites and contribution from forumers I can't attest to the fact that they show more lucidity and knowledge of subjects treated, and their language expression shows they're far better in usage.

The other thing I note with them is, insults are moderate and not to the level we do it on this website.
