  What did the president hope to take home by his admission of his government's failure to collect taxes from taxpayers? What are the Kayoyes, taxi drivers and the entire taxpaying public doing? Let Kayoyes tell government to refrain from collecting any taxes from them else they will only carry foodstuff but nothing else. Let Taxi drivers demand the government must stop forcing them to pay any taxes else they would pick up only market women but not people working in government departments. Let the TUC demand that the government stop collecting tax from its members otherwise they would restrain their members from working in government departments. Ours is a listening government, and if we come up with such noble ultimatums, Mahama would pooh, pooh to the whole world that his government cannot collect any taxes from the citizens, so the world bank should send us some dole money to pay government ministers. It is as simple as that!

  Of questions can be found in the perceptive but candid observation Bishop Dag Heward-Mills made in his end of year sermon only a couple of weeks ago. In short,Ghanaians[and here the blame is essentially being directed at those you call 'leaders' or the light that is supposed to show us the pathway,who do not embark on any course of action,unless they can derive some monetary benefit personally,from the move!
  The notion of selflessness and communual living,has given way to an era of personal aggrandisement,that is unparalled in the history of our nation! And to the chagrin of those of us who have seen what my Nigerian friends call "better thing" in life,it is simply amazing that some in this country,have referred to this destructive phenomenon as the 'Golden Age' of business! This may be true for the very few,who through this bizarre,but "over-clever" way,have become exceedingly wealthy. The trouble though is that,pretty soon, the rest of us,the suffering bunch will all be dead,paving the way for the Chinese and others to come in and take over!

  Actually, Ghana needs to turn a corner. We cant continue in this wrong direction forever. How long should these continue? Are we going to complain without making the necessary changes and efforts that can move us forward? The youth should be able to read through the lines. The leaders dont do the right things just because we allow them. We need a nationwide movement that can educate the youth to see the mess around and bring awareness. We can do this by campaigning to promote civic education. We as individuals dont have the resources to do this. That is why we have to come together as an organization to pool our resources together to accomplish the objective. We have to adopt the MLK "I have a dream" tactics to fight corruption. We shall demand changes through peaceful demonstrations. Think of it! Let us continue to preach this message to bring awareness for action. Thank you much for the good job. We should not continue to sit on the fence and allow the people without integrity to ruin the nation.

  The solution, is a proper, well coordinated revolution. It could be a military style revolution or a civilian revolt, where all the thieves would be punished, without fear or favour. Otherwise, we should all pray and call on God to punish the thieves with diseases, where they would have the stolen money but cannot use them, but rather confess to tyhe bad things they do in their offices. A very educative and wonderful piece. In all these issues of thievery, those that are hurt most is the poor, who did not have the oportunity to be in any position.
