If an individual worked in ordinary BBC, how is this so great to deserve state burial? How do we tell the world the ‘level of people’ we are with this impression? If Komla is so great for state burial, then we Ghanaians are altogether miserably visionless and mediocre. Is this one of the greatest achievements to accord state attention and burial? Even the British themselves who own BBC would neither give their BBC directors who pass away state burials nor would the Japanese, Chinese, American, German, Koreans or even Libya do that for BBC reporter or news presenter.
I don’t discredit Komla’s personal efforts and the pain we endure for his lose, but we cannot portray to our young ones ordinary worker in BBC is great achievement. Komla Dumor's death has hotly caught Ghanaians attention so much that I believe this is not only because of what he actually done, but because of the impending FUNERAL which is Ghanaians major identification on earth. Happy to bury damage things instead of fixing the despondent state we live. We are importer country indicating that we export our problems to other humans just like us to solve. Let the dead bury their own dead, said Jesus. Shame!
Apostle Dr Christo Safo is trying to fix one damage path no matter how rudimentary way he begins and this can't still get our attention than death and funerals. We don't even talk about it much. When has Apostle Dr Safo’s efforts been seriously debated in parliament or other state powerhouses? Our Annans, Jonases, Bandas, Duncan-Williamses, presidents, Chiefs, MPs and all those bunch of so-called dignitaries appearing to have excelled (not for Ghana generally but mainly for their own persons) hardly come open to highlight on the 'seed' Apostle Dr Safo is sowing in finding a path to self-reliance through industrialization and encourage others to follow. Because, firstly Apostle Dr Christo Safo is 'illiterate' Dr without classmate, secondly his funeral has not come yet, thirdly his workshop is on ‘Gomoa land’ and not in Dusseldorf or Detroit, fourthly......., on and on.
Let the youth rise and chase these visionless bald heads we call leaders out of the town. For 50+ decades they cannot even turn cocoa beans to powder, yet they encourage our old pensioner farmers to cultivate what we do eat or price just as white man took us for whiles children our children go hungry. How can they be leaders when they encourage us to put food on white man’s table, whereas we go hungry on the streets? His hard work and dedication took him that far, but that does not warrant a state burial. Was the professor who was killed in Kenya given a state burial? No. We need hospitals, School, proper roads, etc. why do you want to spend the money on state burial. I guess someone is just trying to stir up something. Please do not let the children of our colonial masters laugh at us. I do not think that Mr.Dumor would be happy with state burial. Please set up some education funds for his children and that's it.
