Only one thing bothers me with this Article at the moment. Almost every single allegation made in the Article against the former President, J. J. Rawlings, is nothing new. But why is the Author publishing them again, now?
Is it so the youngest of our generations coming of age would learn about them, or it is to re-invigorate the wobbling base of the Opposition Party?
The thing that disturbs me most is the latter of the questions on the motive for this piece. If this Article was produced as a distraction from the on-going NPP internal squabbles, then I fear a backlash that would set the NPP's effort to regain the Presidency back another step or two. We should note that the Article did not attack J.J. alone, but also President Mahama and the NDC Party as a whole.
What this Article is most likely to do is galvanizing the base of the incumbent Party, NDC, to retaliate with no less venom than the Article articulates the allegations with. The Article has set the tone of the next Presidential Elections in Ghana much too early, and it does not look pretty. Why can't we have a more peaceful environment in which to assess and debate only the most relevant issues impinging on the lives of the People and the Nation's future, instead?
I wish the Author would have, at least, held off till the internal heat in the NPP had subsided, and a real solution found to cement the core of the Party for a constructive competition based on the real, provable facts pertaining to the Nation's current state of Affairs.
This Article cannot push the crisis in NPP far from the Public attention enough to allow any efforts to quietly resolve the Party's problems before the Elections. So, the NPP must not be complacent with this false-shield that the Article might have been produced to offer, but still aggressively and honestly do its due diligence to settle its internal conflicts. If the Article was to offer a distraction, I am afraid it could do just the opposite. It is interesting how the Author pleads that People should desist from responding to it because it would help offer J. J. more Popularity. Well, that is exactly what the Article is doing--providing a higher level of exposure to J. J., negatively or positively.

It is one thing to rain insults based on facts unto J.J. Rawlings but it is altogether an insult to the intelligence of readers like me to talk about the legacy of Kufour as noble and or admirable.
Should in case you fail to realize, Danquah Damptey, Kufour stood in the door steps of greatness akin to that of the late Nelson Mandela and blew it. The late Nelson Mandela did not let his tribal allegiance/loyalties and bitterness cloud his judgment and we all know Kufour could not carry Mandela's jock strap. Mandela as a real statesman knew what was right for his people and chose the serenity and sanity of black South Africans over his own potential for retribution towards South Africa's white minority. After the death and destruction under J.J. Rawlings Kufour could have embodied what was best in Ghanaians but chose to inflame the tribal animus in Ghana to new heights.
Check your own data and you will find that most of Kufour’s kinfolks and mostly tribesmen prospered or fared well under Kufour than any other tribe not because they grew bigger and better brains than those of other tribes but because Kufour chose his loyalty to tribe and political party over the welfare of the nation. This is not a hyperbolic charge but all those in the know can testify to the animus that erupted under Kufour’s time in office and continues today. The existing and uninterruptible animosity between Ashanti’s and Ewe’s did not come by because of J.J’s doing alone but because Kufour failed to govern as a leader of all Ghanaians but a leader for the few who triumphed as tribal bigotry grew. The last thing anyone in Ghana dare not do, even those who are hell bent on rewriting Ghana's history in their own tribal infused prism, is to call Kufour anything other than an educated but morally bankrupt and intellectually dishonest leader who chose to destroy Ghana. In many deliberate acts Kufour ensured his family, party cronies and tribesmen enjoyed their loot as everyone else fought over the table crumbs. J.J. Rawlings has never been worth the time of day for any Ghanaian who knows right from wrong and has morals.
