Gordon I dont agree with you that "...women are the main culprit(s)of this nonsense that is happening in Africa." If the word culprit means a an offender, lawbreaker or wrong-doer, how can women be the culprits in a sphere which is excessively dominated by men? If you randomly take 100 churches around the world, at most you will get perhaps 5 women owning, running or heading churches.
Most of this 'nonsense' as you rightly put it, is being orchestrated by 'religious' men of dubious integrity to fleece the massive numbers of the poor, the vulnerable and the ignorant in society.
If anything at all, it is rather women who bear the brunt of this tragi-comedy. By their up-bringing, girls and women end up being pliant, docile, subjective and impressionable to the whims of others - particularly manipulative men such as are generally found wearing long cloaks with copies of the bible in their hands.

It is interesting when one truncates analysis for political expediency. Yes we can not help the CIA to overthrown a performing 'Dictator' and replace him with a non-performing one and call it spiritual. Yes we cannot blame our shallow thinking on spirituality. Start the political disturbance from the first coup in Ghana which sent us back 200 years. In any case as quantum physics will portray, a man gets what he thinks and believes but you can get thinks sitting down. Lets get beyond politics

My limited economics tells me that inflation can either be demand based or supply based. If it's demand based then the writers suggestion of mopping up excess liquidity may be the answer but if the supply of goods and services are low, we need to produce more or increase supply to reduce cost through economies of scale and what i was taught in form four is if you increase supply, price will fall

"South Africa is a classic case in this discourse. That country would have gone up in flames had it not been for the exceptional leadership qualities of Mandela."
False! "South Africa" is the invention of white people, and singularly De Klerk has a hand in the success of that country and whatever good that followed by his goodwill for which he remained blamed. The structure and economic frame of South Africa was decided by the White. South Africans are more savage than are Ghanaians (Crime in the country right now surpasses that of any other country in Africa); the country would have been worse than any other country there in the southern Africa. They are lucky they had white people to do all the great tasks for them long before.
Now guess what? Gradually, the country is slipping steadily down-road as democracy is being destroyed. Majority Blacks might never again elect a white president for the country, and it isn't constantly-dancing Zuma types of presidents with 5 wives and over 20 children (and now he under investigation for using 5 million for renovation of his home which is given two heliports) that could give a leadership required for the country.

Hello Vuvuzela, my reference to South Africa is limited to the period after Mandela took over. Had he not opted for reconciliation the country would have fractured beyond recognition. Everybody was shouting for blood, but was that the answer? No. When you weigh things emotionally that would have been the obvious choice. On the other hand, it takes a leader with a foresight who can definitively see into the future, not prophetically, but the possibilities based on the available evidence. Can you imagine what the outcome would have been if a person like Mugabe had been in the helms during the crucial period of South African history?
With the way Zuma is conducting himself two additional leaders of his kind and South Africa would be in the mud.

selfish infantile decisions are the harbinger of this economic and financial quagmire Ghanaians are going through. They put a higher premium on their self-interest in the expense of mother Ghana and the sad thing is that no religious leader in Ghana came out to condemn their actions, because they also tend to benefit from that by invoking spirituality to exploit their congregants. SHAME ON THEM!

what makes you think that if the NPP/CPP/PNC etc. were in power the situation would have neen auny different? what makes you also think that those judges would or could declare a winner of an election.the petition brought before them did not demand who won or who did not win. and am sorry the petitioners were not able to give credible evidence to support their claims for a re-run. and if so was it the same EC that was going to preside or? and from where would that money have come from? your pockect abi? As for the religious leaders in this country, the least i say the better. i however blame the congregants who have literally become "sheeps" and will obey without question any command the so called shepherd or pastors tell them to do?
God gave all of us wisdom and knowledge lets use it to magnify his him and his creations not to delebrately destroy others for the day of reckoning will surely come. May the Lord God bless us all.
