There was once a millionaire who collected a large amount of crocodiles as pets. One day when he held a party he came up with a proposition. He said if anyone could swim across the Crocodile infested pool and emerge unharmed he would pay them $1 million or give them his daughter, a supermodel.
Immediately after he finished saying this he heard a splash and the entire crowd watched and cheered as the young man swam quickly across the pool, and emerged unharmed.
The millionaire was amazed but said that he would hold up his end of the bargain.
"Well", he said,"do you want the $1 million or my daughter? The young man answered, "Sir, I don't want your money or your daughter, I just want to know who the hell pushed me into that pool."
Its loving ourselves first before the Nation.
If we don't love ourselves how can we love our Nation.

When the majorities are marginalized and minorities think its their god given right to rule whether fair or by buga buda or election rigging tactis this is what you get . this your govt is overwhelmed by events and has not only failed but its a catastrophic disaster beyond what we could ever imagine and every day they stay in power is another year it will take to repair the damage . we are all equal before God but not all are ready or capable to rule and this is a fact of nature that all tribalists are in reality incompetent to rule . imagine what would happen to the German economy if in the name of equality and human rights together with election rigging they were to up with a govt predominantly comprised of minorities like Turks , Arabs and gypsies , most certainly within less than a year their vibrant economy would collapse . or for that matter the same in the USA allow the typical niggers ,former pimps, dealers , hustlers and rednecks take over ? yet we in Ghana are best with the first idiot Nkrumah from a minority Akan group and since then almost every president has been made in that image. we are all surprised how come we are never able to achieve progress despite the fact that everything we need is already there or within easy reach . we are plagued with bad evil leadership and now is not the time to refrain from speaking the truth or criticizing . only a fool can hope that this govt is not headed for the first ditch around the bend . in fact its very wrong to mislead the people into thinking there is hope if we are to assist these northerners and ewes now . we should tell our people the truth , there is no way we can expect anything but a hell on earth from this alliance and all we should do is conserve our energies for the aftermath . kuffuor should know better but it seems he is blinded by his 30 year friendship with the mahamas , if he is a true friend to pepeni the best he can do is to advise him to resign immediately before its too late otherwise things might just spiral out of control and we shall have an uprising of the people or war

Abena, you are my number one[1] when it comes to commenting on the woes of Ghana. We are all used to pressing the wrong buttons, however we religiously expect a miracle leader to cleanse us from our self inflicted woes.Everyone over the age of 10years in Ghana is corrupt and over reliant.People are so corrupt that it has become a culture, traditional chiefs and the clergy are no exception.Bribe is paid everywhere in all the public institutions because public servants live above their income, they go to the pub every day till late with their youthful lovers. They like to show off what they have illegally acquired and yet go to church to speak in tongues,LORD have mercy.

Abena,
Good article.
While I agree with you that every Ghanaian and even other Nationals living in Ghana have a part to play in putting Ghana economically back on steady legs, I strongly believe that most of the workload rests with people who have been put in positions of trust and authority. Priests/ pastors, lecturers/teachers, security oficers (police & armed forces), custom officers, ministers and other political appointees of local and national governments( including the president) are the ones who should be held to higher standards of accountablity if we all as "lovers" of our beautiful country want what is best for her.
The ordinary "joes" of the country who have no political clout as far as running the country are always left on the sidelines except during elections when these political parties go knocking on their doors coaxing them with bags of rice and ill-gotten money.
So my point is that: even with the ordinary "joes" doing their part to build the nation by excercising their voting rights (coaxed or not), the lion's share of the nation building depends upon those voted into power. They are the ones who set into motion the political and economic policies and agenda of the nation. In other words, if people in power are crooks, thieves, corrupt and on top of all don't seem to know what they are doing, then no amount of "loving" from other sections of the populace would amount to anything. We would just be spinning our wheels.
I said my piece. But I got a question for you.
Where were you when applicants were being sought for the position that Anita Desoso now occupies?
I believe you could do a marvellous job in that post. You seem to have the knack of putting brilliant ideas together and you are very convincing in your ideas concerning the nation. You think before you put anything out. That's the kind of woman I knew of the educated Ghanaian woman I was used to when I was growing up in Ghana. I went to school with them.
Thank God Ghana still has smarter and well-educated women like you around.
The spot light should be on your kind instead of some of the clowns we've been reading about lately.
God bless Ghana!!!!
