These are the "communities" that will help you when you are in need. A tribe will neither help you nor put food on your table. The inter-tribal warfare in the North poignantly shows the lack of communitarianism you talk about. Let's try family, friends and country.

In the first place, it is not easy for them to understand this important points that you have made here, inspite of the overwhelming evidence all over.I can site our brothers in the Volta region as a good example, with all apology, anyway. It is very true that, in terms of developments, during the NDC 1 and 2, they lacked behind, yet they have never at anytime spoken ill of the party, NDC, except for a very few greedy ones. Same thing applies to the Ashant/Akyems themselves. Wonder how many votes for other parties apart from the NPP.The problems with the Ashanti/ Akyems is that, they are ingrained with tribalism which they can not do away with.
I´m very happy that all what Ghanaians have been saying before, during and after independence, is now very clear. Since when did they know that Mr. Afoko is an ex-convict? Even if he really is, is that the best way to treat him by publicly exposing him? Couldn´t there have been a better way of drawing his attention for him to bow down without people even knowing his reasons of withdrawing, in order to avoid all this inconvenience?

Yes, of course, you choose to either be NPP or NDC, but you are a northerner by nature which you can not change, but can change to become a member of any other party of your choice. I love this statement and I hundred percent agreed with you. To majority of us Ghanaians, even if they rescind their mischievous decisions today and voted for Mr. Afoko to become the chairman, which I doubt anyway, we will still not change our perceptions about them. They are a bunch of tribal bigots. There are many of them out there who are hardened criminals and ex-convicts yet they are covering them.
As if that is not enough for them, they are now trying to test the barometer of the public perceptions about Dr. Bawumiah. What good can come from characters such as these? Ghana would surely be a better place without them. The signs are very clear for the northerners to see. A word to a wise!

Afoko bribed delegates to vote in a certain direction and was caught in the act. Was he doing that in favour of a fellow Northern brother i.e Alhj. Aliu Mahama? No. He cannot be the chairman of Our party NPP if even he is allowed to take part in the coming congress at Tamale.

Mr Mohammed, are you 100% sure that the petition against Mr Paul Afoko's candidacy was from Gabby Otchere Darko? If not, then, this is a very serious allegation against Gabby. I guess you may be close to Mr Afoko and therefore you are privy to some information that is not in the public domain.

Though this an internal NPP matter, it may have national importance and of interest to all and sundry. For this reason, it is important that the petition was lodged. What is required is for the appropriate body within NPP to investigate whatever allegation is contained in the petition for the truth to come out. If the allegation is unfounded, then Mr Afoko will be free to contest and could even benefit from this unfortunate incident.

On the other hand, if the allegation is true but the petition is disregarded and Mr Afoko is elected Chairman of NPP, the allegation could come back to haunt not only Mr Afoko but the party as a whole. That would be a very high political price to pay. In fact, depending on the seriousness of the allegation, Mr Afoko could be forced to resign his Chairmanship to save the name of the party. It is therefore in the best interest of Mr Afoko for whatever allegation is contained in the petition to be investigated for the truth to come out.

MASSA KOFI, NPP finds itself in a 'catch-22' situation with regard to the allegations flying around Mr Paul Afoko. At this moment, it's not publicly known if it was indeed, Mr Gabby Otchere-Darko who brought this petition against Mr Afoko. We're not sure. I believe, however, that individual or shadowy figures must have a close personal/political interest in the chairmanship of the NPP. In most often than not, negative stories are planted, dirty tricks are employed in such hotly contested positions. This allegation should be properly and thoroughly by the NPP.

My concern is that, given NPP's "perception" issues with some voters, especially the Northern folk, this will have serious implications for NPP's appeal and electoral fortunes in the North. NPP finds itself in a 'catch-22' situation here. Any decision by NPP to dismiss the allegations against Mr Afoko as he vies to be the chairman of the party may in the have embarrassing and costly consequences, should the allegations prove true. But, should Mr Afoko be disqualified without substantial evidence to back their action, this will be interpreted as 'elimination of a northerner' from NPP leadership. And NPP will find it hard to appeal to the northern folk.
