Tall these goalies have championship mentality. Adjei has won a major trophy. Kwarasay has won a major league trophy. Adams went to a chan final and won wafu trophy. Dauda is inactive and hasn't won a trophy. This is the difference. Olele is even worse....old and no trophy.......lol....very disease ridden, mate meho mentality won't help gh. Aa, take the players or goalies who have on trophies or came close to winning a trophy. They know how to winn tropjies and can help you win the Wcup. He has gone another notch, has amassed more experience and plays in a better league than our other goalies. He also possesses the better physical attributes. This is the World Cup, the best players in the World will explore any weaknesses such as the lack of adequate height. (Dauda, Kingston, Adjei are all shorter). On top of all that, Kwarassey is the one that has been in form over the last 12 months or so. I think the above make a compelling case for Kwarassey to be our no 1 goalie without a shadow of doubt.

Height advantage shouldn't also be a reason for picking Kwarasey. There has been some world best keepers who were very short ie goal keeper Campos of Mexico. Out of the 5 keepers we have in mind, Kwarasey and Braimah stand at 6'3", Olele, Adams and Adjei @ 6'1" and Dauda @ 5'11". Let's therefore base everything on performance and if Kwarasey is the man so be it. Let's give them the chance to prove themselves. Olele was our number one between 2006 and 2012 before Kwarasey took over but for those 6 years of Kingson played for Birmingham, Wigan and Black Pool and was almost on bench for all those years yet he was Ghana's number one. The factors are a lot to consider so no need jumping into any hasty conclusion and lets leave time to tell.

Olele have had the occasion allowing in 6 goals in two games. Does that mean he is of no-no good?
Do you accept another fact that, weak defence makes good goalkeepers vulnerable?

Apart from Campos and a few others, one like US reserve keeper Nick Rimando, in general terms, 90% of goalkeepers are 'tenten'-lanky-tall which make better but not a rule that

Now, lets bring in the question of performance. Dauda was with Ashgold more than two seasons he did not win a the league/trophy.
He departed down south only to become
a 'benchmaker'. Back in the Egypt decider,he was seen being rusty, erratic and giddy. That was when I lost 'conference' in him and started rooting for KwaraState.

KwaraState is currently the captain of his mother club. He dutifully, had steered his side to win their league.
If he has any flaws, it is the team's requisite to identify them for corrections.
Other than that, KwaraState has all the bodily statistics to be considered the number one.

Adam Smith also has what it takes to be a contender judging his exploits in the CHAN series. But, like you said, the tournament was a pale shadow of itself. One could not have graded it high to warrant or give Adams an apple. To this end, he cannot be said he is better than Dauda or Kwarastate.

The fight now, is between Dauda and KwaraState.
Since Dauda is consistently inactive and the other is constant, the winner is KwaraState.
I stand corrected.

When Olele was warming benches between 2006 and 2012, goalkeepers Sammy Agyei was in a class of his own, Amamoo was in Sweden playing very very regularly, Daniel Adjei and Stephen Ahorlu were making strides in the Ghana's premier league. However, Olele comes to B/Stars camp and immediately every goalkeeper has to give way though he was very inactive why? Though inactive, he was better than the active ones so please let's tread cautiously on this Dauda issue. My eyes are widely open and watching.

No need to tread cautiously on Dauda'a issue; he is a nervy-jittery bunch, and simply not good enough, at this point, for the Mundial. Stephen Adams is on the rise, and has all the tools: aerial judgement, footblocking, penalthy saving, good height and confidence. Kwarasey has the experience, leadership and he is in great form. These two go 1st and 2nd ahead of Dauda.

This is why their national team always has problems. At the end of the day, you need players with European experience. Local or Africa based players are good for certain positions but not goalie.

Just consider this.
Though too early to ask such a question even before Adam kwarasey and Stephen Adams get to mann the post for the Black Stars during the friendly match slated for March 5th, I still can go ahead to tell you why Fatau Dauda is so far the best for the tournament until the two Adams proves me wrong with splendid and extra ordinary performances not seen displayed by Dauda before.
Don’t forget Dauda was among the three to be called to the Black Stars team in 2008 by an expatriate coach as the third goalie for AFCON when Richard Kingson and Sammy Adjei were first and second respectively. So he is not someone from space and now not there because of the goal keeper’s trainer as some would like to insinuate. He earned that position he has protected till we qualified for World Cup.
Stephen Adams is yet to be tried by experienced and professional players, the likes of whom we are going to meet at the World Cup. The CHAN display was borne out of the assembly of inexperienced players across the continent so it is not time to celebrate his performance yet. Kwarasey and Dauda faced the high profile professional players at the AFCON of 2012 and 2013 respectively. Most of these players are featuring at the World Cup for their respective African teams.
Many keep talking about Fatau Dauda being rusty; not playing, he is on the bench etc.
Kwarasey on the other hand, is not proving his worth at training with the Stars either. Kwarasey can be the best Goalie in the world but if at training ground where all our Stars who are equal in calibre and even better than some world class players we are going to face at the World Cup assemble to try him and Dauda and he fails to live up to the task or expectation, Akwasi Appiah will continue to use Dauda and it makes perfect sense period!
Orlando Pirates I knew came in quickly for Dauda because they know his worth and what he can do with time to come. They also knew he will be a Star and worth millions after the World Cup, hence bought him from hungry Gold Fields who lacked that fore sight.
This Fatau guy is very good but most Ghanaians are just failing or intentionally do not want to admit. Watch his tapes at AFCON 2013 and the crucial qualifiers and be the judge. It takes a goalie with a heart to withstand the pressure of qualifiers to help his nation qualify.
Also, watch Kwarasey's tapes of AFCON 2012 in Guinea and be the judge as well.
For those who don't know or fail to admit, there are technical differences between league matches, qualifying series and tournaments like the AFCON and World Cup. With the league matches players and teams always play with known faces and teams on their own soil. Qualifying series on the otherhand does not give the teams the luxury opportunity to play the teams and players they know totally on their home soil; they meet teams randomly picked for them. Tournaments are completely different, here you play various matches almost on few days’ basis and are keenly competitive; sometimes you don't even know the team you are playing in the next round should you qualify.
With the above analysis, you'll agree with me that Kwarasey can be the best in the Norwegian league, captain of his side and the voted best goalie. However, tournaments and qualifying series are different ball games. Does he have the confidence for the later two? Have we not seen his best at a tournament? Be the judge.
Dauda was his side's captain too (Obuasi Goldfields) and he won man of the match at the AFCON 2013 in South Africa (a rare achievement for Goal Keepers). He performs at training with the Black Stars and the technical team sees and knows it period. It is up to the Coach and the Keeper's trainer to sharpen his loose ends and he's a gem! Orlando Pirates know that. It is just unfortunate he met another great Goalie at the team.
Kwarasey by my estimation is not playing for any team outside Norway where he lived almost all his life. He probably might be on the bench for a team outside Norway too just like Fatau who was regular with Obuasi GF.
Let's see who is better to be in the post at the World Cup In the coming months, when they both get to keep in our friendly matches.

Though too early to ask such a question even before Adam kwarasey and Stephen Adams get to mann the post for the Black Stars during the friendly match slated for March 5th, I still can go ahead to tell you why Fatau Dauda is so far the best for the tournament until the two Adams proves me wrong with splendid and extra ordinary performances not seen displayed by Dauda before.
Don’t forget Dauda was among the three to be called to the Black Stars team in 2008 by an expatriate coach as the third goalie for AFCON when Richard Kingson and Sammy Adjei were first and second respectively. So he is not someone from space and now not there because of the goal keeper’s trainer as some would like to insinuate. He earned that position he has protected till we qualified for World Cup.
Stephen Adams is yet to be tried by experienced and professional players, the likes of whom we are going to meet at the World Cup. The CHAN display was borne out of the assembly of inexperienced players across the continent so it is not time to celebrate his performance yet. Kwarasey and Dauda faced the high profile professional players at the AFCON of 2012 and 2013 respectively. Most of these players are featuring at the World Cup for their respective African teams.
Many keep talking about Fatau Dauda being rusty; not playing, he is on the bench etc.
Kwarasey on the other hand, is not proving his worth at training with the Stars either. Kwarasey can be the best Goalie in the world but if at training ground where all our Stars who are equal in calibre and even better than some world class players we are going to face at the World Cup assemble to try him and Dauda and he fails to live up to the task or expectation, Akwasi Appiah will continue to use Dauda and it makes perfect sense period!
Orlando Pirates I knew came in quickly for Dauda because they know his worth and what he can do with time to come. They also knew he will be a Star and worth millions after the World Cup, hence bought him from hungry Gold Fields who lacked that fore sight.
This Fatau guy is very good but most Ghanaians are just failing or intentionally do not want to admit. Watch his tapes at AFCON 2013 and the crucial qualifiers and be the judge. It takes a goalie with a heart to withstand the pressure of qualifiers to help his nation qualify.
Also, watch Kwarasey's tapes of AFCON 2012 in Guinea and be the judge as well.
For those who don't know or fail to admit, there are technical differences between league matches, qualifying series and tournaments like the AFCON and World Cup. With the league matches players and teams always play with known faces and teams on their own soil. Qualifying series on the otherhand does not give the teams the luxury opportunity to play the teams and players they know totally on their home soil; they meet teams randomly picked for them. Tournaments are completely different, here you play various matches almost on few days’ basis and are keenly competitive; sometimes you don't even know the team you are playing in the next round should you qualify.
With the above analysis, you'll agree with me that Kwarasey can be the best in the Norwegian league, captain of his side and the voted best goalie. However, tournaments and qualifying series are different ball games. Does he have the confidence for the later two? Have we not seen his best at a tournament? Be the judge.
Dauda was his side's captain too (Obuasi Goldfields) and he won man of the match at the AFCON 2013 in South Africa (a rare achievement for Goal Keepers). He performs at training with the Black Stars and the technical team sees and knows it period. It is up to the Coach and the Keeper's trainer to sharpen his loose ends and he's a gem! Orlando Pirates know that. It is just unfortunate he met another great Goalie at the team.
Kwarasey by my estimation is not playing for any team outside Norway where he lived almost all his life. He probably might be on the bench for a team outside Norway too just like Fatau who was regular with Obuasi GF.
Let's see who is better to be in the post at the World Cup In the coming months, when they both get to keep in our friendly matches.

Don't underestimate the chan tourney. If it was any easy, gh would have won. U saw fatau was the best. But he couldn't even get gh to the afcon final. Was dauda able to save any penalties? Dauda was good at afcon, ut the biggest liability that can affect a goalie is inactivity. Goalies don't get to touch the ball a lot. So when dauda is inactive. It affects him bigtime.his reflexes, anticipation etc. are all affected. I would rather put an shs goalie in net than an inactive, rusty Olele, dida, dauda

I will suggest we use him against Germany N Portugal and Olele or Adams against USA. I think it's too late for Dauda to make a mark now. We Ll saw his mistakes in Egypt. He was at fault for d 1st goal punching D ball on to Zaki's hand n into his own net N d 2nd goal should ve been a routine save. Watch d clip of Olele in 2006 & 2010 WC & u will see that he made more serious saves than what Fatau conceded giants Egypt. Despite Fatau is a good keeper but not a World Cup Material. Thank U

All the teams in our group have players that can deliver great balls in the box and have good players who can challenge in the air. ghanas team isnt particularly tall so we need a gk that can challenge in the air. if we dont win balls coming in the box, we are gonna have a bad tournament
