Danquah who, with all his clandestine dealings and collusion with Ghana's enemies, never came close to lead the country. Quoting bogus names to support lies is a con of the highest order. Akoampa-Ahoofe must know, Nkrumah's idea of introducing a free education in Ghana was conceived when he was in Britain. More of this anon!

Ask every educated Ghanaian who is over 55 years and they will tell you education was free. If Nkrumah rigged the 1960 election, what about the 1969 election? Which party did the PP contest with during the election? Who were in opposition in the 2nd Republic if Nkrumah was a dictator? Who started one party state in Ghana if not Busia's progress party? Okoampah think Ghana belongs to only his Akyem family when he did not even know where the Akyems migrated from in Ghana. The concept of free education may not have germinated from Nkrumah's mind but it will be wrong to say he stole it from the party he left. Free education was already being practiced in other European countries and there was the example of the communist countries to go by. All sides could have seen to copy this knowing the parlous state of literacy in the colony.
But the better interpretation of history will be the fact that the party that won and implemented the policy will be the party that will be said to have introduced it. It is not enough to be the first to think of a particular policy. It is more important to be the party that first implemented the policy. That was CPP under Nkrumah NOT his opponents who never got the chance to rule until 1969.
Another important consideration is the fact that the actual free education policy implemented by Nkrumah could not have been the one envisaged by his opponents who were conservatives who certainly would have limited the free policy to a few. Nkrumah actually made the policy widespread and school going compulsory for ALL. And he backed it up with the infrastructure under accelerated education programme.
Let's give Nkrumah his due even if he did some things wrong.

Whether Free Education was propounded, dreamt about or designed by Hitler, Mussolini, JB Danquah, Afrifa, George Bush or any of those hateful demons in world history, the fact still remains that it was Kwame Nkrumah who institutionalized this most beneficial concept in Ghana at a time when all other socialist countries around the world were applying it to their convenience and development. Apart from the opportunistic buffoons in the current NPP, I do not know of any capitalist or neo-liberal political organization that espouses Free Education.
Free Education is an uncompromising socialist or communist concept. It is a concept that the so-called capitalist and neo-liberal buffoons vehemently reject as an economically wasteful project.I am therefore pleasantly surprised that an unliberated slave, a despicable imperialist apologist, errand boy and bigot like this cheap Okoampa character, wants to claim the merits of this laudable idea in Ghana to his shameless fellow imperialist menial road-runners.
Again the UGCC was not "a Grant and Danquah-led" organization. Why do these stealers want to steal everybody's ideas and initiatives?
The UGCC was founded, organized, wholly financed and directed by Paa Grant of blessed memory. Paa Grant invited every member of that organization - including Danquah, into its membership member. How therefore can Danquah exclusively share the credits of that organization with its legitimate founder?
For crying out loud, whilst other members wilfully participated in its activities without any prompting, Danquah would not even attend UGCC meetings until and unless Paa Grant financed his exclusive transport and inconvenience allowances to those meetings.
Like all other capitalists without capital and the so-called neo-liberals gang of economic rapists, Okoampa has no shame nor any sense of morality.
From the trend of affairs, I fear that very soon the NPP will do a head stand and claim to be a socialist Party. What a bunch of clowns!

Thank you Kaw Ansah. The greedy opportunistic bigots in the Busia-Danquah tradition are so shameless that they have even gone to the extent of trying to belittle and steal the credit due to Paa Grant.
Today this mentally retarded moron, Okoampa, is even trying to suppress or conceal the fact that Paa Grant was the founder and leader of the UGCC by making it seem that Danquah was a co-founder of that historical organization which brought to the fore and stimulated the immediate need for independence upon the arrival of Kwame Nkrumah from Europe.
The unfortunate truth for those people is that, if Danquah had been that great, there would not have been a need for Paa Grant to request for Kwame Nkrumah to leave his highly advanced obligations at the time as a leading player in the global Pan Africanist movement in Europe with great people like DuBois, George Padmore etc, to come home and help in the liberation struggle for independence. Even for this decision alone, Paa Grant should be commended. The difference between the time before Nkrumah arrived in Ghana and the period after he arrived to take up his duties as General Secretary of the UGCC, is clear.
As for Danquah, there is clear and excess evidence that as a politician, he was an incomparable and dismal failure. He lost in virtually every election he ever took part in - including ones in his own hometown to lesser known opponents.

The meaning of diffuse:
spread or cause to spread over a wide area or among a large number of people.
The meaning of defuse:
verb (used with object), defused, defusing.
1.
to remove the fuse from (a bomb, mine, etc.).
2. to make less dangerous, tense, or embarrassing: to defuse a potentially ugly situation.
3. to weaken.
Surely, the Prof. meant to write "defuse", but as usual Malapropism got the better of him.

Akomfem or Akoampa, What is the title of the "Dennis Austin's" book or paper? And who is he? Hope he's not another PhD, self-aggrandising man.
Now, coming to the UGCC "Working Papers" which you said Nkrumah "absconded with", if you have mind to perceive, you would know that Nkrumah literally prepared them. He was called from Britain to be secretary of the that party, by Ako Adjei, for that purpose. Nkrumah was a specialist in that circumstances; a giant in document preparations and policy formulation as his track record reads. Here, I need not mention them for I presume, as a PhD supreme, you know them all. It does not need the imagination of a think tank to know that UGCC leaders would not dream of making free education a policy; else, they would potentially invite challenge to their authority; wouldn't they? How could you say that those bourgeois, who were selfishly materialistic and self-centred, sought to make education universally free - you might be daft to think so! If anything, those people would prefer to leave their subjects illiterate to avoid challenges to their authority, as they became enlightened. Nkrumah's behavioural disposition was completely opposite to theirs. If his government did not build a greater number of elementary and secondary schools and made them free to attend, many children from areas which Mr Akoampa-Ahoofe PhD would have been languishing along cocoase for good. They might not come into contact with Cape Coast, let alone attended secondary schools, unless they had a royal family connection or a hyphenated name as in Okoampa-Ahoofe. Thus, you see, Nkrumah had not been selfish; ostensively, his educational and training policies provided Afrifa and others the wits and courage, respectively, to remove him from power. J.B. Danquah and co. would have left many traitors like Afrifa and co. in perpetual darkness, educationally.

Dear Dr Kwame,
Could you enlighten us (your audience) by addressing the following mind-boggling questions related to your article? (1) Have you obtained double degree in English and History? Or how would you convince your audience that your views on the topic are accurate? (2) If you did not obtain a degree in history but would want your audience to agree with you based on the authenticity of your in-text references, then you would have to correct an oversight in one of your previous articles.
I remember about 2 or 3 years ago you wrote a lengthy rejoinder to another writer on the other side of the political divide. And in that article, you described that good friend as “WHEN DANCERS TURNED HISTORIANS”. Do you still standby that title or you want to make amends? If the good brother did not have history degree, I believe he used the same methodology (i.e. citing reliable sources) as you did in this your current article.
In that light, I would urge writers like my good Dr. Kwame to be circumspect in expressing their inalienable opinions.

Free Education and Communism
Free Education was one of the cardinal ideas of the communist and that was around 1843. It was a time when there was still slavery in the U.S. and most European countries. The Paris Commune tried to establish free education of all the people of France, but could last for only 77 days.
When the Bolshevich (Russian Social Democratic Party) came to power in 1917 in Russia it as soon establish free education and adult literacy programmee. Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is a communist, thus would not have borrowed free education from Joseph Danquah and others.
It is on record that free education was introduced into Britain after the second world war, which is now being scaled down as a result of no competition from any socialist country which gives free education to her nationals in Europe. Free education was introduced into China, Cuba and other socialist countries.
There is also a fact that Kwame Nkrumah set up secondary schools free of charge to cater for students who took part in political agitation for independence and were dismissed from some institutions by the then colonial government. It is on record that the so-called intellectuals Danquah and Busia did not offer a hand of help to those who were expelled from secondary schools by the colonial administration because they struggle to see this country free. Dishonest Okoampa-Ahoofe
This is from Okoampa-Ahoofe from Chapter 2 ( "Harvest of Foolery") of his collection of essays published on 2004. When did his lobotomy occur? When he found out that he was related to J. B. Danquah.
"And here, it is significantly instructive to observe that none of the myriad putsches and coup detats have been staged by any other than bona fide members of the Ghanaian military. Granted, some rascal civilians are known to have staunchly backed regressivley Darwinian means of political access, including a world-renowned University-educated former prime minister. Interestingly, in July 1956, when President Nkrumah's Convention People's Party (CPP) won a landslide victory, Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia rode herd on a delegation to the British office in London, to petition the British Crown, and Ghana's extant colonial overlord, to desist from granting the already-scheduled return of Ghana to self-governance. Fortunately, Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia and his right-wing bourgeois reactionaries did not succeed. He would, however, succeed ten years later in backing the military junta that unseated the Nkrumah administration and facilitated the precipitous devolution of Ghanaian national destiny.
Indeed, it is interesting to observe that Ghana's major and, to-date, only international airport is named for General E.K. Kotoka, the very Darwinian outlaw who spearheaded the grossly unimaginative overthrow of the constitutionally elected government of the CPP. For many detractors and outright enemies of Nkrumah, Kotoka's greatest—if also sole—achievement was simply getting rid of an elected dictator. It has often been said, largely by Western academics, that Nkrumah was a heartless and fatuous dictator; these days, one hears Mr. Jerry John Rawlings, the career soldier who ran Ghana for twenty harrowing incontrovertibly bloody years, described as a "benign dictator." It is significant to observe that Mr. Rawlings, whose agnatic parentage is purported to be Scottish, presided over the dastardly kidnapping and summary execution of three Ghanaian supreme court judges, all of whom belonged to a single ethnic nationality.
When one agrees with the Western ideological mythology that Nkrumah was a raw-boned dictator bereft of vision, then it begins to make sense that Kotoka's statue should continue to command the august facade of Accra International Airport, thus perpetually humiliating those of us who incurably believe in democratic governance. Needless to say, the 1966 Kotoka-led coup initiated the barbaric, neo-colonial military dynasty that Ghanaian continue to suffer….
That Ghana's post-colonial political dilemma transcends military dictatorship cannot be honestly gainsaid. In fact, many of the most vociferous civilian opposition party leaders, some of whom are currently sitting in parliament, representing misguided and hoodwinked constituents, are known to have collaborated with Kotoka's so-called National Liberation Council to unseat President Nkrumah. It is also significant to observe that these largely superannuated rascals and executive national, fiduciary muggers continue to dominate whatever passes by the name of "the legitimate opposition." This state of affairs, coupled with a largely under-educated and under-informed electorate, has made it almost impossible to rectify the prevailing socioeconomic chaos ravaging the country.”

Here we go, again! The crusade to crucify Nkrumah and his legacy continues unabated, even after his death. Professor Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr. can't ever let pass the slightest opportunity to whack the late President's reputation one more blow, even a gush with machete!
Just so the Public be in a better position to judge the facts available on Nkrumah and his political rivals, may I just ask that if the Prof. claims the UGCC was a Political Party that related more closely to the UP, would it not have been the only Party had Nkrumah not defected? We would have had one-party regime, then. Not that I favor one-party Gov'ts.
The Professor has over the years portrayed Nkrumah's defection and formation of the CPP as some unprecedented horrible political betrayal by Nkrumah, all in the hope of sinking the late President's name into the abyss of infamy.
But still the Professor wants us to believe he is a strong advocate of multi-party Democracy. So, how would we have attained that system if others like Nkrumah had not formed other Parties? Or, he wants us to agree that it would have been okay for any other person to have formed another Party but not Nkrumah?
Meanwhile, after all these years the Professor has not educated us on why the UGCC did not survive Nkrumah's departure for long. Ako Adjei even joined him.
What stopped Danquah, for example, to capitalize on his pioneering role in the struggle to form his own Party? For all we know, Nkrumah, even by the Professor's own account elsewhere, was not wealthy to be buying votes for his election. And if Danquah had built as much goodwill and fame as the Professor claims for his doyen, why was it difficult for Danquah to win even one of the many elections and referendums supervised by the Colonial masters prior to their total exit from the scene?
It is simply laughable that the Professor would claim the 1960 elections were rigged for Nkrumah. What a shameless lie! Where is the Professor's proof?
We must be reminded that those elections occurred close to the visit of Queen Elizabeth to the newly freed Ghana. There is little to no chance that the Queen would have honored that trip if the elections had been stolen for Nkrumah.
Meanwhile, how could the Professor relegate the legislation to ban ethnic or regional Parties to yet another of Nkrumah's dirty ploys to monopolize Power, while the don claims the very results of that legislation undercuts any charge of UP being an Akan-only Party?
Only a myopic, viscerally prejudiced person, even if spared from being tagged with academic mendacity, would propound such an illogical hypothesis.
Would there ever be anything left in Nkrumah's legacy that looks commendable that this Professor wouldn't not claim it for Danquah?
I bet if Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr. could have his way, he might claim Nkrumah's certificates earned at school, from class one to Varsity, however humble, for Danquah as some products of his that Nkrumah stole or plagiarized. Ebei!!
Even, Satan himself has his credits that we are supposed to recognize and not underestimate.
Is it just hatred or something else that this Professor bears for Nkrumah? I guess it would well fit into the Professor's agenda on Nkrumah to theorize that the latter even never really existed and is only the figment of imagination of some drugged Folks around the Globe.
Long Live Ghana!!!

I do feel sorry for those unfortunate to take an English course or Creative Writing course under Dr. Okoampa-Ahoofe especially for those who do because of failure to register on time or needing a course three (3) credit-hour course in English a semester to graduate. Okoampa-Ahoofe cannot be a lecturer of any meaningful subject demanding the intellectual ability to think, extract ideas and ideals to argue a point like people in the sciences or in law because he is incapable of the truth, applicable or deduced. In English we do know meaning of a few words and or single word most often may depend on context or placement of the word or words. As such the mighty-mouse Dr. Okoampa-Ahoofe could has the liberty and latitude to throw his weight around since he holds the power of grading and the infamous grading curve at hand.
What Dr. Okoamap-Ahoofe cannot do, but he takes delight in doing, is lie because the internet especially one like the ghanaweb has become a home for some of Ghana's uneducated , under-educated and educated by tribally and politically driven goofs to accept as gospel truth anything they read especially if the article is signed off by anyone with a doctorate degree. Dr. Okoamap-Ahoofe is a bold face liar and lacks either a moral compass or is unprincipled to hold the jockstrap of those before him. History is not written by or written for the J.B Danquah’s and or K.A Busia’s of Ghana neither is Ghana’s historical account rendered valid or otherwise by only peoples in the regions of Ghana Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe prefers. The history of Ghana, as written by our colonial masters, has almost always replayed the accounts of the writers and of those uncle Toms of their time who would do what it take to ingratiate the master's voice and wishes. The British did not offer free education for a bunch of Negroes of the then Gold Coast and they surely did not extract assurances or mandate of free education from the leader of the Ghana that came after independence.
Any Ghanaians with self decency and moral compass worth a grain of salt knows Ghana after independence did not have a free education system neither did it come from the unicameral parliament of Ghana at the time. For it is the same Dr. Okomapa-Ahoofe and other clowns of his preferred enclaves in Ghana that could not stomach Nkrumah's ideal of having people get an education irrespective of region and or wealth status. Remember the entire ideological foundation of any conservative party is the belief that there has to be winners and losers created partly because of designed structures put in place to discourage some (by race, religion, creed or tribe) or by intellectual capacity differences enhanced because of wealth and societal classism. I dare Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe to go through the annals of Ghana's educational history of documentation and find out which tribes in Ghana or the Gold Coast had more people graduate from elementary, secondary and or university/college education. It is shameful that Dr. Okoamap-Ahoofe with character traits similar to those of Germany’s Adolf Hitler could earn the freedoms fought for by people of goodwill in the USA so people of his kind could earn a living spewing his kind of falsehoods as Hitler once did for the fools who come to follow his lead.
The usual nonsense from PhD, JR, KOA, NTL Okoampa. The man who thinks the only Educated person who ever lived in Ghana was his uncle J.B. Danquah who, with all his clandestine dealings and collusion with Ghana's enemies, neve ...
