To those of us who see Chieftaincy as a waning Institution, Rockson's long fight may be meaningless and sheer time-wasting, even lunatic.

But to those of us who still cherish that Institution and hope that it could be preserved but only modified to accommodate our modern life style, keeping its core values in sacred purity is of utmost importance worth the work Rockson put into his fight and more.

So, cut a slack! The only problem I had with Rockson on this is his approach of gruesome attacks on the personal character of his antagonists, where that attribute was not the primary fault for his protest. His routine heavy insults obscured his course, and tainted further the Institution he was so adamantly, ardently fighting to save.

Obviously, if it did not mean much to him he would not have spent do much resource to fight for it that long. Besides, if there was nothing valuable in it to fight for, his antagonists would not have persisted in holding on, either. We all have to have the fighting spirit to protect what may be ours, help the cheated resist the cheater.

If you are right in your claims, your retirement from the case now could turn out to be a strategic retreat even if it is someone else that would emerge some day to carry on the fight to restore the truth.

I don't know much of the details of the real case after which we all know you carved this 'fiction'. ' A proverb knows its owner' says the old sage.
And many know of this fiction route as the last gasp of a warrior. You could be in utter pains over this case. However, with your established outspokenness, why could you not more effectively organize the majority of your folks to contest this case in other arenas, say, in secular Courts, if you are so convinced of your position?

Is it the futility in pursuing a Court case against certain 'big shots' in Ghana that kept you away from the secular legal system, or lack of financing that such cases require?

Well, whatever it is, I hope the future generations would not be worse off for it.

Our Chieftaincy Institution is currently fraught with so much dishonesty and corruption that we see no end to the disputes afflicting it. That threatens the future of that aspect of our Culture. The trend keeps adulterating our Culture. Many now believe Stools are up for sale to the highest bidder, as the most eligible are so commonly dubiously swept aside for some crooks to claim the right to ascend the Stools.

The best we may be able to do is begin to securely digitize any authentic evidence that preserves the truth in the order and legitimacy of inheriting every stool. We should no longer only rely on indirect verbal information transfer.

If certain elders have evidence of the truth, they could be recorded under oath, in the presence of Commissioners of Oath, and with accompanying traditional invocations, and the product distributed for archival storage with the Government and private Data storage Companies, and vaults of chosen Banks.

In that case if anyone popped out of nowhere to claim a Stool, his or her claim could be matched with the stored evidence that would remain unalterable. Then, family trees would have to be extracted from our Birth and Death Registry to augment verification.

Well, good luck, pal, and congratulations for a hard fight. Always remember that if you were right, the truth cannot be suppressed forever, and you did your part to keep it alive, however long the period of its dormancy.

Wealth is not a formidable fertile ground or growth agent to support a replanted modified truth for the purpose of sustaining that truth mutation. Truth has its own intrinsic, almost indelible, way of preserving itself. But also remember that, no matter how irritated we might be, civility is a vital agent for propagating the truth.
