  Of course, Akufo-Addo made it popular by making it his main proposal during the 2012 election campaign. What he and NPP failed to do was to lay out a detailed roadmap of the whole notion of free SHS. They have to submit the roadmap of their version of free SHS. You can't really talk about free SHS without fixing the whole school system - from basic to SHS.
  The boomerang effect has to considered. I don't think Nana Addo paid enough attention to the repercussion of free SHS. Neither is Mahama's administration seriously considering what to do with the incoming JSS students.
  
  No person nor political party has done it yet.
  Each person or political party intending to run in 2016 has to present their version of free SHS,
  giving details of how they intend to upgrade the education system, details of how they intend to cost the total upgrade, plus how they intend to pay for the free SHS.
  
  The discerning Ghanaian electorate is entitled to know the cost of injecting quality into the system and the cost of making SHS free.
  Between now and 2016, there's enough time to show the electorate the detailed roadmap for their perusal and discussion.

  Ghana has enough natural resources to fund free school from pre-k, to basic, right up to SHS.

  Mahama's SON address relating to the contentious policy appears rather to be more of a knee jerk reaction to Nana's pre-election statement that sent the entire NDC leadership into panic mode.
  In defense of his u-turn policy Mahama made reference to the constitution that made sense to only gullible and naive party followers. He was more interested in playing to the gallery than dealing with the nitty-gritties of such an expensive national education policy.
  Socrates said:"The gods sell us all good things at the price of our labour". I believe this to be true. Those willing to work grab their picks and shovels and work till they receive callouses in their hands. Your Mahama did not sit down first to count the cost before opening his mouth. It's amazing how much can be accomplished if we don't care who gets the credit. Couldn't Mahama show a little bit of political maturity by admitting Nana was right after all. You guys cannot understand that meekness is not weakness but greatness.
  Quality SHS Edu.should rather be compulsory but not free if we're to nurture and grow an educated population and an elite workforce. What government can do is offer educational loans to students who cannot afford the fees and draw up a workable and comprehensive repayment plan with the students on completion of their diploma. Thank you.

What use is Akufo Addo, a man full of arrogance and dubious character in Ghana? If it is the free education that they want to use as their campiagn strategy, then I´m afraid, they have already lost the elections. I heard one of their silly idiots saying the implemetations of the program by the government is iiligal. I wonder how Akufo Addo was going to do it so as not to be illigal if he had won the elections.You see, people like the Ashanti/ Akyems should never be given the least opportunity to get closser to the presidency. They are all frustrated bunch of criminals.
