  Tell us all where Akufo-Addo did his pupillage to qualify as a lawyer, a strong requirement at Middle Temple!
  
  Tell us why Akufo-Addo couldn't do his pupillage, which was why he wasn't accredited and had no option but to go and do some administrative work at Coudert and Freres (Brothers) in Paris, France, only to be sneaked into the Ghana Bar by the cronies at the General Legal Council.
  
  And does losing serial Presidential elections qualify him as a "consummate politician"?
  
  You are as confused, desperate, and pitiable as the unfulfilled Akufo-Addo that you are wasting your breadth attempting to whitewash.

We Ghanaians are too fond of praising people making these people feel they deserve the praise when they don't at all. We should be challenging and questioning our politicians, especially, not praising them!!!

  The great Ashanti Project was credited to John Kufuor because of his calculated actions to bring the 1950s politics back to Ghana 50 years later. The idea, as I understood it was to simply create a monolithic Akan group, consisting of 49 % of the population provided it was led by always led by an Ashanti. He carefully avoided the use of the word Ashanti in everything he did (or omitted to do) except when it came to NPP Leadership. "Akan" was a grouping always emphasized to camouflage this Project.
  
  So there appears to have been two divisions, Akan versus the rest and within the Akan grouping there was a perking order where the Ashanti quietly came first followed by the rest of the Akan groups. The Akufo- Addo faction saw through this and countered it by creating there own Mafia. Atta Mills saw through same and exploited the widespread feelings of the non -Ashanti Akan, such as the central, western and brong people to win an election NPP should have easily won given the level of their achievement on the economic front.
  
  Now, some of us interested onlookers are closely monitoring the fight for the soul of the NPP. Some observers believe Nana Addo has a chance in 2016 if the party holds together. This always means if there is no Ashanti-based openly disgruntled grouping, either campaigning against it or simply folding arms in a corner. This is in spite of the poisonous legacy of the Ashanti Project. The less than stellar performance of the NDC ruling group so far will hand it over to Nana Addo with the support of a wholehearted undivided Ashanti NPP. However, it is generally believed that any Ashanti candidate is likely to fare very badly against John Mahama, precisely because the smell factor of Kufuor's Ashanti project is too fresh in the memory of the rest of the Akan family!
  
  This in my opinion represents my simplistic understanding of the Great Ashanti Project and its overwhelming impact on contemporary Ghana Politics.
  
  Opposing views are genuinely invited but hope they can be devoid of insults and tribal innuendos !

  This makes me think you think the Akyem factor (read Akufo-Addo) will fare better! I beg to differ. The problem with the Akyem factor is Akufo-Addo! Akufo-Addo the man, not the tribe! Any other Akyem man would have beaten Mahama 2012! He would have done that by garnering more votes from the non-Akans and even more Asantes that Akufo-Addo did. Akufo-Addo the man is not cabable of getting more votes outside his core base to win the national vote. That is the reason why NPP should find someone who is NOT Akufo-Addo. NPP lost 2012 because of Akufo-Addo. If he stands again 2016, he is likely to lose by a bigger margin to Mahama. It is the same Ghanaians who voted 2012 who will be doing so 2016. Most of them really do not care which party did better economically. They cannot even see the difference. Only the middle class can and they are tiny.
  
  As for your theory of Great Ashanti Project, it is just a conspiracy theory. Kufuor was simply a very greedy and selfish man, not somebody with an agenda of Ashanti dominance in Ghanaian politics.
