Greater Accra has no river or lakes that I know. None whatsoever. Even if there are rivers and lakes in Greater Accra, it will be used as a toilet than drinking from it. Look at the sea. It is being used as the major toilet.

There is the Odaw River, then there's the Sakumo Lagoon that lies between Accra and Tema. We need to develop these water bodies.

Yes because JJ Rawsh..it told them anybody with 2 toilet or commode in your house is greedy. So they used the sea as their toilet bowl. Now look at JJ he is living large, and all see is sh..it all around our sea and rivers.

There's the Odaw River, the tributaries of the Densu River, which meander into Weija, which now is the main source of potable water for the Accra region. Then there's the Sakumo Lagoon which lies between Accra and Tema. And the polluted Korle Lagoon.
Unfortunately, in the name of development and unplanned sprawl, many of the ponds and streams have been paved over.

ELSEWHERE, THERE ARE REFUSE BINS AT VANTAGE POINTS AND STREET CORNERS WHERE ONE CAN THROW ONES GARBAGE. EDUCATION AND PROVISION OF REFUSE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL WILL BE KEY. THERE ARE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO MIGRATE FROM OUR VILLAGES FOR WORK AND NOWHERE TO GO WHEN NATURE CALLS, USE THESE LOCATIONS TO EASE THEMSELVES WHEN NO ONE IS LOOKING. THERE ARE OUR OPEN DRAINAGE SYSTEMS THAT PROVIDE THE MEANS FOR ALL SORTS OF GARBAGE INCLUDING FEACES. UNTIL THE PROVISION OF AMENITIES AND THE EDUCATION BY MOBILE CINEMAS OF EDUCATION WHEN I WAS GROWING UP, THESE THINGS WILL CONTINUE. THE INTENTION OF A CHILD IS NOT TO STEAL BUT IF YOU DENY HIM FOOD, HE/SHE WILL STEAL TO SURVIVE. DEVELOPMENT OF ACCRA DIED WHEN DR. NKRUMAH WAS DEPOSED. NKRUMAH HAD BIG PLANS FOR ACCRA AND HIS DREAMS WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY AGAIN. THE GAS DID NOT LISTEN TO HIM. HE BUILT A COMMUNITY CENTRE FOR ACCRA WHERE CULTURAL ACTIVITIES WERE HELD WHEN I WAS A STUDENT, NOW, CURRENT GOVERNMENTS HAVE TURNED THE COMMUNITY CENTRE INTO LAW COURTS. WHAT A SHAME!
