The truth of the matter is that our police service is corrupt, yes very corrupt indeed.Every Ghanaian knows that our policemen are very very corrupt. The present IGP cannot stop his men from taking bribe, no he can`t.

Who cares when police officers use their monthly salaries to rent rooms due to inadequate police barracks accomodation with the promise of paying them rent allowances which has now become an issue of struggle??????? I'm aware police officers in Ghana receive periodic training and write exams to test their knowledge about police work and duties. That's all laudable but how effective are they? How about a yearly fitness test for all police ...

I'm aware police officers in Ghana receive periodic training and write exams to test their knowledge about police work and duties. That's all laudable but how effective are they? How about a yearly fitness test for all police service personnel? Physical fitness is as equally important as mental alertness.
Since modern police work is not an original African idea we should not learn it in part but its fulness from the originators who have been doing it for well over a century. Selecting about 50 to 100 personnel of the service for education and training in some of the best and renowned police colleges in the world will go a long to enhance the work and image of the police officer in Ghana. The basic entry requirement must be a high school diploma and the applicant must be a good communicator in english and at least one local language. Hiring more graduates and those with specialised skills will also help. It's time to weed out the undesirables and those who are unfit for modern police work. This is the 21st century and we need to do everything with that state of mind, including the police. Only the best is suitable for police work.

2. If the person after forcefully demanding the 1 cedis and having been refused can become peeved as to seize the drivers licence.
3. If the person knows how to lie that the 1 cedis they demand from the drivers is for uniform maintenance.
4. Police PRO's received their training on the road at the illegal barrier and checkpoints.

is high time the police service considers giving tasers to it officers which to me will be a step in the right direction rather than than giving real firearms to some crazy officers to handle.and officers must be screened to see if they are mentally fit to wield firearms..tasers send electrical current into offenders when they are being arrested and such electrical shocks is not life threatening.guns can be handle in real situation when bullets are being exchanged and only when it is necessary to do so.most overseas police men use these devices even though these countries have firearms in abundance so how much more ghana which doesn't even manufacture firearms.human life is a precious thing so we better cherish it and not waste it

A police officer with Odorkor police station by name C.I.D Addo has collected my money ,an amount of 20000 ghc and dont want to pay back.I have tried through S.I.D AND the C.I.D OFFICE in Asylum down to get my money back ,but no result.Recently i tried thrugh the police head quarters but still no result.What is the police themselves robbing the public and nobody want to react or say something.Please can somebody come to my aid.
