We instead need a week of NATIONAL PATRIOTIC RETHINKING.
I will continue to advocate the system of Presidential Council to replace this one-man Presidency. We are not honest and can never practise this western way of governance to any meaningful gain.
For us, the man on top holds the ultimate power but that is never a way forward. For all these years of Independence,one-man presidency has not helped us, WE MUST CHANGE THAT SYSTEM. A driver never uses one gear for an entire journey.

They should spend the time deliberating on life's purpose. Should our goal be to seek power and money or to protect the environment? The little slit or small cut in our cloth is the desire for power and this has been exploited by others. It is not too late to learn that Christianity is about protecting all of God's creation, not about making money.

Good piece, Kwasi,
As usual, our leaders are just missing the point. At the end of this phoney fast, the poor Ghanaian taxpayer will be saddled with another bill. Like the rest of us, the reiligious leaders of Ghana should know why the country is in such a sorry state - lawlessnes, which breeds corruption, greed and nepotism.
That is what they should be talking about, not forcing the already emaciated Ghanaian suffering malnutrition, to add to his woes through fasting. Mahama says he is a Christian, but that has not shown in anything he has done in the last five years. Not in the Brear aircraft purcahse debacle, not in GYEEDA, not in Isofoton, not in Subah or the sale of Merchant Bank.
We cannot deceive God. Mahama's problems are going to be compounded even more until he begins to be honest with himself and the people of Ghana. That is what Prof Adei meant by being honest about governance. Without that we can fast for the rest of the year and nothing will ever change!

Mr. Kwasi adjekum, I wish I know the Bible verses like you, so that I can also quote. But God being so good I have the Bible beside me. And unfortunately I can't waste time by going through it, I'm at work. So, I will go ahead and tell you what I think. Your question was very simple. "Do we really needs national week of fasting?" And when you read down your article, your justifications provides the answer. But I think the answer is "NO". Look, when God want to destroy sodom and gomorrah, Abraham bargain with God from 100% down to 10%. If Abraham could finds 10% of the entire population of sodom and gomorrah who are in God or who are clean without sin, God was willing to spare Sodom and Gomorrah for their sack but abrahama couldn't get a single person who was chase. The same thing apply to Ghana, for whatever reason that we have to use a huge sum of Ghana's money to organise this prayer and fasting, if we can have 10% of Ghana's population who are truly in God or chase, God will grants us the reason why we are organising this prayer and fasting for their sake. We boost and says Ghana is a christian nation. Can we also boot of having, please not too much, just 10% of the christian population to be chase? If the answer is yes, then for their sack, we are safe. If God wants to cleanse and bless us, is not through fashion show in the name of national prayer and fasting. If you doubt me. Look at the dressing participants wore under this programme. We can pray individually and God will listen and it will not cause the nation a dime. You know the story of king David and bathsheba. After king David realising his sins, he pray alone and God answered his prayers. That is how king David wrote psalm 51. God Bless Ghana.
