All what Gabby is indirectly saying is: vote for Akufo-Addo. He has the track record. Do not look at his birth certificate. If Ouattara can do all these at 72 and will re-elected to lead his country until he is 77, what of Akufo-Addo who is younger? Do not look at Akufo's ethnic background and commit the same mistake as Ivoriennes did in rejecting Ouattara on ethnic grounds.

Gabby will never miss an opportunity to campaign for his tribesman. But Akufo is not Ouattara. Ouattara is an economist a subject in which Akufo got 3rd class. Ouattara worked for IMF. Akufo has no such experience. The ethnic dynamics in Ghana are different. Ouattara is not arrogant - Akufo is, no matter what the likes of Gabby tell you on that subject. Ouattara came to the Presidency on the barrels of a gun. Ghanaians are determined not to fight a war to put one person in power.

Simply put, the conditions are different even if we are close neighbours. But Akufo must win his parties primaries first. That will be easy because the party, all its protestations of democratic procedures notwithstanding, will cajole and subtly coerce others who can really give him a run for the money, to back out of the race. Only people who have no chance against him will be allowed to contest with him so that they can lose to give a semblance of a fair fight to the whole thing.

Well, I believe you have heard of Jerry John Rawllings before. Talking about arrogance, jerry killed so many Ghanaians including a young mother of 9 months and a judge. While this jerry imposed so called probity and accountability on Ghanaian, he and his cronics gave no account of their almost 20 year stewardship including when leaving the Castle as President. I bet you did not and still does not see arrogance in that. And talking about economics, what was jerry's education background? How about Atta Mills and Mahama? Akufo-Addo's track record as a performer in government is acknowledged only by his supporters. Neutrals don't see it.

The power that can be wielded to prevent probable winners from challenging him is not projected publicly. It is the behind the scene maneuvers that will give the lie to the democratic façade...

Some of the best Presidents in history did not even attend college. Harry Truman of USA and that Polish labour leader who became President were high school graduates. The President who turned Brazil economy around in in 2004 was an Elementary school graduate.

President Ronald Reagan barely graduated from Eureka college in Illinois with a 2.0 average. Why do we Ghanaians so obsessed with degrees?

Remember thus is just one of the factors we are using to predict a future outcome. Akufo-Addo could very well be the best president Ghana ever had despite his third class. But, as at now, we don't know that. We do not!

What you are saying is that, you don't go by facts but you go by who the writer is. What a sad day for our country.

Whatever you said about Ouattara education and Akuffo Addo's, it does not make a difference. President Carter, (USA 1976-1980) is one of the best educated United States President but he failed as a President.

Coming to Ghana, Busiah was the best educated Ghanaian and the first tenured Professor at Oxford, likewise Limann got his Ph.D at the best France University and Atta Mills too had an educational resume to kill for but as Presidents, they did not exemplify themselves.

A good President is the one who sees himself or herself as not the custodian of intelligence but surround himself with the people with technical know how of the various agencies under the government and keep an eye like a hawk on his appointees and relieve those underperforming.

Education is good but education alone cannot tell how one is going to do as a leader.

You're the one rather confusing facts and the interpretation of those facts. That Akufo-Addo got a third class is a factual statement. Whether that fact can affect his ability as a ruler at a future date is a predictive or interpretative thing, not factual. You should not confuse the two. Who Gabby is does not affect the facts on the ground but it affects the interpretations we make of those facts and the predictions we make based on them.

I have stated categorically that I know that educational achievement is no guarantee of successful leadership. So your examples of Carter and Busia and Limann are uncalled for. I never even said Akufo's 3rd class will make him a bad leader. I cited that fact as one of the differences between him and Ouattara.

Note, too, that nothing in my argument can be interpreted as meaning Mahama is a good leader or is doing well. If you ask me of Mahama, I will tell you that he and his gang of cronies are hopeless and doing badly. But, CARDINAL, this fact does not mean that Akufo-Addo would be a better leader at a future date in time. Mahama's poor performance today is not a predictor of Akufo-Addo's performance at a future date.

Truly and eventually people with scales in their eyes will see, and those with wax in their ears will also hear. The difference between the NPP and NDC is getting clearer and clearer everyday. Very soon apart from Togbe Afede and his Asogli people, Ghanaains will feel the pinch so hard that they will desert and collapse the NDC for 50 years. Whilst other governments and parties manufacture development for their peoples, the NDC manufactures calamities and propaganda. The differences between what Quattara has and can do in Ivory Coast and what Mahama can do in Ghana are too numerous to list but I'll list a few. Gabby and all the NPP zealots who see some enlightenment or wisdom in this trash of a write up he, Gabby, has posted must start realizing what cultured losers do in Ivory Coast. The people who opposed Quattara came from the Christian majority who did not want to see a Muslim leader in power. Even after all the troubles, the Christian majority have come to accept the loss at the polls/ballot. Does this sound familiar? The NPP lost Ghana's 2012 election and have chosen to stoop to gutter level politics which the Christian majority in Ivory Coast would not stoop to because even in Ivory Coast they realize how stupid Ghanaians can be looking at how we smuggle cocoa from Ghana to sell in their country to elevate Ivory Coast to the cocoa production leadership status.
