no general who has capitulated for what ever reason should be given the chance to lead and that goes for nana . we shall tell all our sympathizers to abstain and boycott the next elections as we insist on a radical leader who will never surrender . if we are ready to fight to the death then our leaders should also recognize this value and not throw in the towel , we need no cowards or schemers . it takes courage and wisdom to lead and nana lacks both. we were soo disappointed he did not take the fight to the streets and again he disappoints us by not stepping aside . the stakes are now much higher than before as if he wins it confirms that last elections were rigged and should have continued the fight , if he looses if confirms he led the whole country on a jolly ride for his own selfish power hungry agenda . its a loose loose situation with no respect or dignity . nana has outmaneuvered himself into pepeni's hands and for the first time in 2 years pepeni is actually celebrating as any political analysis can see nana has shot in himself not only in one leg but both . he thinks he has a well marketed name and is well known so stands a better chance than any other candidate and because pepeni's govt due to northern tribalism is weak but he forgets the Akan are industrious hardworking people so with or without pepeni before the end of the year things will start getting better as the Akan have now reorganized their business away from the influence of politics . in short pepeni will start seeing successes and as usual will lie and attribute them to his govt . the business minded have rallied around and are doing things for the people despite the corruption in the system . the corrupt ones are now even becoming more reasonable and not asking for payment in advance so the business works out although the amounts they want have increased enormously . pepeni will succeed and will get a second mandate as he realizing his mistake is focusing more on the competent ones and more sustainable projects that help retain the wealth of the nation with the people . nana forgets the majority of the people now know only a Ghana with jj and the ndc so are conditioned to matter what if there are 2 evils to go for the evil they already know . this time pepeni will get 70% of the vote as many will not even bother with the exercise , there is nothing new

I think it is very risky and foolhardy for NPP to go for Nana again. I did not think he was the best candidate in 2008 and 2012 for NPP based on the same issues that are always used against him. Why spend your campaign in the defense mode? But that is what happens with a Nana candidacy. Being in the defense mode takes away from the campaign message and that is why NPP needs a fresh, young, smart candidate. You know one, who brings a breath of fresh air. No, I am not talking about Alan because much as he fits into the “nice guy” category, he is not a strong leader. I think NPP needs Bawumia and then find a good person to balance the ticket from one of the swing regions.
Unfortunately, Ghanaians do not vote on issues otherwise there was no way Mahama would have won in 2012; despite the Woyome and other corruption issues, NDC won. In Ghana, really money talks when it comes to elections due to the illiteracy level in the country, also the electorate tend to go for “nice guys” you know the “asomdwehene” rather than vote on merit, and NDC has done well in those categories in the last few elections.
Unfortunately, Nana Addo does not give the electorate the “warm and fuzzy” because they know him too well and have twice rejected him. What is going to be different this time? The economy, well, that would have been the answer if we were in another country but I doubt that would make a difference in Ghana.

Why can't you just bring out the issues of poor Government performance to deny the NDC a chance to stay on? People don't want to be associated with, or subjected to insults by, folks prone to violence. Insults are violence in words.

The NPP members must project themselves as more tolerant and civil than people have previously tagged on them.

However, I think Nana is not the best candidate for NPP to defeat Mahama.

Are you telling us, without the ECOWAS, this stupid Gambian government would not have killed the Ghanaians? ECOWAS has nothing to do with the lost of forty of our dear countrymen's Lives, if anything at all, a full implementation of ECOWAS might have saved them as they could have moved freely in Gambia, but their untimely death might not have been saved due to the risky nature of their journey and the condition in Gambia at that time when the government of Gambia have the information that, the opposition has recruited mercenaries from other African countries to carry out a coup operation. The Gambian government at that time was in a security mode to deal with any unusual movement of Foreign African nationals.

In as much as you have a point about the armed robbery situation in Ghana, the deportation of Nigerians will not solve the problem. I agree with you though for the government to beef up security, and deal harshly with any armed robber. The government also has to start checking these Nigerians, Liberians and other foreigners about their immigration status, residential addresses and their occupation in the country.

All non citizens should be made to register at the Police stations where they reside.

The Lebanese and all others should be made to follow these regulations. Though most of them are engaged in legitimate businesses, some of them are engaged in shady deals like drug trafficking and other vices in society that should be uprooted.

We should not though blame all these insecurities in our country on foreigners because most armed robbers in Ghana are Ghanaians and deporting all foreigners will not solve the problem.

One area the NPP government seems to be lacking is the security situation in the country and they should form an emergency commitee from the ministeries of Interior, Foreign affairs and the Justice and Attorney Generals department to co-ordinate resources and information. Form a special Task Force armed to the teeth, with patrol cars, mobile phones, two way radios and other equipments that are necessary to patrol our cities and towns 24\7 to combat this canker in our country that is retarding our progress to the next level of economic development.

Chuck Charles Kofi Wayo, founder and leader of the United Renaissance Party (URP), has ordered the immediate arrest of Nana Akufo-Addo, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, for his “All Die Be Die” comment.

He argues that anybody who beats war drums in any form must be arrested. “In any decent country where we know there are ethnic problems - anybody who advocates violence must be arrested - as simple as that,” he added.

The free-talker who was dismayed by Nana Akufo-Addo’s supposed call to violence, noted that he should be arrested because his comments has noting to do with the tenets of democracy. You should arrest him, this is no democracy, you are telling people to go and kill themselves for politics, what kind of politics is that? Is that politics or savagery? Politics has nothing to do with violence,” Mr. Wayo stated.

He believes that Nana Akufo Addo has no right whatsoever going round to incite people to be violent, saying “Akufo-Addo can’t go round saying all Die Be Die and the government is sitting down: if Atta Mills is not prepared to act then we will advise ourselves…You have to defend the Ghanaian, Ghanaians deserve some defence.”

‘Chuck’ Kofi Wayo, sharing his views on a wide range of national issues on an Accra-based radio station yesterday, insisted that Ghanaians would not allow such divisive sentiments to thrive in the country anymore.

“We can’t allow this alleged drug crazy guy to be talking all this crap to the people saying he wanna (want to) be president…what kind of democracy is this? We can’t take it anymore,” he ranted. The founder and leader of the URP indicated that those calling for violence in the 2012 elections are people who could sneak out of the country if they succeeded.

“First you heard him (Nana Akufo-Addo) say all die be die, you heard Jake also, these are people who have children overseas so they don’t mind killing Ghanaians,” he added. According to him, the NPP have embarked on this tactics because “They believe (President) Atta Mills is weak – that is why they are doing that…he got to show some whips like we say in the US.”

We are preaching to our leaders to refrain from insult politics and show respect for varied views. And here you also goes insulting our leaders. This is what is dividing us and it is a big problem and you have just shown that you are part of that problem instead of being part of the solution. You have a very good argument but I can't take you serious because of the insult. We want this medium of communication be very attractive and inviting so that people will always want to browse here and read others articles and learn something new. But if we all decides to go by your way, it will scared people off and we will not be taken serious. Please we want politicians to browse here and read our articles and know how we feel and takes our comments serious. This is our civil right and don't turn it to be our nightmare. If you insult president Mahama and his cabinet members, bear in mind that you are indirectly insulting majority of Ghanaian whose votes send President Mahama to the seat of government. If you read Akufo Addo's speech to the press on 20th march 2014, he said the essence of opposition is to keep government on its toes not to step on each others toes. So why are you stepping on the last nerve of Ghanaian who voted for President Mahama. Mr. Justice Sarpong, I will be expecting a rejoinder from you to apologize to the commander-in-chief of the Ghana armed forces and the people of Ghana who interest the president represent. Every body needs to do the right thing. Mr. Sarpong, because you can't disrespect your father and go and respect Akufo Addo, so, you can't disrespect president Mahama and go and respect president Obama. That is why you need to write a rejoinder. You lost confidence in president Mahama but thousands of Ghanaian have confidence in him. A word to the wise they say is enough. God Bless Ghana.

OKATAKYIE SARPONG, the issue is that many Ghanaian voters, especially the rural folk, don't see leadership on one's integrity, competence and determination to move this country forward. So far President Mahama hasn't shown competent and effective leadership. And despite the NDC's Government's corruption scandals and amateurish streak, I think NDC will use all the weapons at its disposal to win. I believe Dr Bawumia rather than Nana Akufo-Addo, is one more likely to win the 2016 Election for NPP. The odds are stack against Nana.

Winning elections in Ghana is not based on merit but rather a whole lot of other bullcrap. For the sake of Ghana, I would hope that NDC would change their ticket and put a stronger person on top of the ticket but I doubt that would happen so I won't be surprised if we are stuck with Mahama for long time.

But you spoiled your appeal with the insult that these NDC opponents are some "human thrash". I think that kind of dehumanizing epithets has a very powerful negative effect that subtly undercuts your ultimate goal, the success of NPP to wrestle power from the NDC.

If any NDC operatives insult you, you do not need to retaliate with a worse insult, but calmly point out how crude and raw and uncivil they are. That enhances the likability of the NPP.

You may not agree with me. But I have listened to many in the Public who do not have the opportunity to come here to express their minds like you and I do. They take such insults very seriously.

By the way, I would have liked Nana to step aside to give Bawumia a full plate of the meal, supported by either Dr. Frimpong Boateng or Allan, who, I am afraid many of his supporters would say, deserves better than Vice Presidential position.

Anyway, keep on hoping for the best for Ghana.
