  I admired your knowledge of the one sided trade our country Ghana involved with in the name of free trade but what we all should know is when it comes to wee,hemp, marijuana, the countries that legalized it in the West, made sure before they did, they found a way to cultivate it in their green house in the winter and out in the summer. Reason? Not to share no money with no tropical country especially Africa. End of story.
  Now that the lid is coming off a herb that got so much bad rap, we should rather be thinking of its industrial use than the smoke of it to win the debate hands down so those who do not smoke it and are scared stiff by mere mentioning of it, can turn their lives around thru cottage industries.
  Think of everything and anything that petrol-chemical could do, hemp could do cheaper without causing harm to the environment. From pure water sachets to take-away plates to diesel to hemp block for building to cloth to sacks to rope to cosmetics, you name it hemp is there to deliver.
  We don't have to cut down the forest anymore to get our paper.Hemp paper is even more durable and cheaper to produce than the present method that create more deserts.
  
  It could be true that most people, both the educated and the not so educated folks do not know the industrial worth of this medicinal plant, so as we want to debate on its legalization, we should take our time to research a plant that had been the magical raw material for industries from Asia to Europe and on to the Americas until a petrol-chemical giant Mr. Dupont of Dupont chemicals had it banned through lobbying to the US congress in the 1940s.
  But as the economies of these countries taking a nose dive with cheap crude oil a thing of the past,industrial hemp is becoming vogue but the white man is not ready to sell his soul to Africa by importing it. Unless we want to slave for it.
  So as that is understood, we have to start the conversation from its industrial worth and not the its high aspects.
