Your father lost both parents before age nine and was taken care of by benefactors. Through hard work he became president of Ghana through a legitimate election. The Ayigbe and Mpepe people who have now become a little civilized now just hate you for your blessed natural status in life. Your father earned his success against all odds and you have been a good son by keeping them and even adding more. You did not become wayward like others. Nana Addo was MP of Kyebi for 12 years,just as President Mahama was. President Mahama was Vice-President of Ghana and now President..Compare the track records of the two politicians ,and one can conclude that Nana Addo does not come anywhere close to the achievement of Prez John Mahama as MP, Vice- Prez, and now Prez.
On the other hand, Nana Addo as attorney -general would not prosecute two NPP ladies who were arrested at the Accra Airport for smuggling of drugs, and these ladies are now cooling off in the USA. Many cases of drug dealing and smuggling were left unproven cited, and the dockets removed from official records, etc, the issuing of diplomatic passports to some drug smugglers who are known members of the NPP. Nana Addo as Attorney -General in Kuffour NPP rather chose to chase and torment officers linked to the NDC, such as Gbevlo Lartey, Kontoh, Hodare Okai, Yaw Donkor and Nick, to mention but a few. From this observation, the track record of Prez Mahama outshines that of Nana Addo. Ask the people of Kyebi what developmental infrastrure they remember Nana Addo for. NOTHING, except moving around with a coterie of drug smoking and Akyem Mafia. We as Akans will always jump to support Nana Addo, but we must know that Nana Addo is EMPTY, as far as political prowess and achievement go.

First he says Rawlings was arrogant in his "hand over to whom" I agree and in the long run he was made to eat his words. But what of Nkrumah's president for life? However in the long run he too was made to eat his ambitions so I guess his arrogance too was made manifest.

You talk of Nana's law documents. What of Nkrumah's birth certificate? Some say he was Liberian. After all he admits his name is Francis Ngonloma - a name that is nowhere in Ghana's list of names. Also we do not know his brothers, sisters, uncles, aunties etc. Strange for a Ghanaian! Moreover, Nkrumah tactfully hid his first wife - Mary Koranteng to whom he was married from 1951 to 1955.

Going further on certificates we are always led to believe "Dr" Nkrumah had a PhD from the LSE. This is false. He started his PhD at University of Pennsylvania but never submitted it for his defense. He transferred to the LSE but never completed and returned to the Gold COast as Mr Kwame Nkrumah. Check the database of PhDs from all of University of London including LSE on the Senate House website and there is no Kwame Nkrumah. His PhD is an honorary one from his old university, called Lincoln University, and yet in his Mausoleum you CPP chaps have a copy of his draft thesis there leading us to believe he was awarded a doctorate based on academic merit. He wasn't.

Don't talk of debt. Nkrumah inherited a debt of 15 million pounds and left a debt of 1 billion pounds. Fortunately for him, Ghanaians have short memories but go to the ministry of Finance, Bank of Ghana or Parliament House for the 1965 economic reports. It was in 1965 that Nkrumah started to beg the US for food aid under its Public Law 480 programme. It was also in 1965 that Nkrumah opened talks with the IMF on account of the crises in the Ghanaian economy.

Privatization works. Compare the performance of Ghana Commercial Bank with the numerous private banks. Compare the VIP and other transport companies with STC. Compare the private 5 star hotels with the once useless Ambassador and Continental hotels. Of all of the State-owned enterprises Nkrumah set up only about 10 ever made a profit. The rest were a huge burden on the ecoonmy and the poor taxpayer. Ghana Airways only made a profit from 1971-1973.

Ghana can't compete with Far East firms because while they encouraged domestic capitalism and sourced foreign direct investment, Nkrumah was cooking up theories of Nkrumahism and in his book Dark Days in Ghana he states plainly that he did not believe in the private sector and was going to shrink it further.

Kutu asked if he was god to make it rain? Nkrumah said he does no wrong making him a god! Kojo, stop changing our history!

In one breath Nkrumah spoke of Pan-Africanism on the other hand he destroyed emerging pan-Africanist structures. Who wound up West African Airways? Whop blocked the formation of the West African Institute which was going to be set up in 1958 to coordinate development in the sub-region? Who unravelled the West African Pound.

In 1964 on the eve of Singapore's independence Lee Kuan Yew was asked if he was going to create so many state-owned enterprises. His answer was no and he specifically stated that this model adopted by Nkrumah had bankrupted Ghana! You people always avoid this when claiming Ghana should have been at par with Singapore, Malaysia etc. All of these countries were opened to foreign direct investment. In fact Lee Kuan Yew said they built his country. Same applies to Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Botswana did not just open itself to the global economy it even kept about 70% of European expatriates on after independence to staff government departments in leading roles. They were made to leave gradually as their President, Seretse Khama, knew that they had immense knowledge which should not be lost. Other African countries followed Nkrumah's model and chased the Europeans out within a year of independence. Go to Botswana and then go to Guinea and see the difference.

In 2007 there was a TV programme talking about Ghana and the former deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, JH Frimpong-Ansah said he attended a cabinet meeting (in the absence of his boss)and there was Nkrumah going on about some wonderful plans costing a billion dollars. All the cabinet members were quiet and it was only Frimpong-Ansah who asked the question where the money for this Nirvana was coming from? Nkrumah replied from our reserves of course to which Frimpong-Ansah said we have only 500,000 pounds left.

Nkrumah got up and went round the cabinet table and asked all the members, one-by-one if this was true and all said yes one-by-one.

Nkrumah then sat down and started to cry.

He also worked there in various capacities as a teaching assistant and as an instructor, including a one–year appointment as professor of Philosophy and Logic, Elementary Greek, and Negro Civilization and History in 1944-45.

In addition to earning a Master of Science degree in Education at the University of Pennsylvania, Nkrumah assisted in teaching African language at the Institute of Languages and Culture. Unfortunately, his Ph.D. dissertation in Philosophy was rejected, presumably for being "too pro-Communistic"(p.64).

With little financial support, Nkrumah engaged in extramural activities likely to earn him some money for his living and educational expenses. Thus, he made use of his Bachelor's degree in Sacred Theology, earned in 1942 from Lincoln University's Theological Seminary — a Presbyterian seminary — to obtain a Licentiate from the Chester Presbytery for purposes of preaching the gospel. He apparently preached virtually every Sunday in different churches in Philadelphia, New York, or Washington. Since the Christian ministry was not his real calling, he did not choose to move a step further by being ordained as a minister. A second extramural activity was manual labor, including work at a ship building and dry dock company near Philadelphia.”

Thus, Nkrumah passed all his course works, presented his completed dissertation but this was rejected based on ideological grounds. He refused to change his methodology, remove certain things and left to the UKinstead.

Nkrumah, the outstanding student, worked for and deserved his PhD., not only that honorary Lincoln gave him instead. He has shown by his intellectual output that he was indeed an outstanding scholar, theorist and intellectual, equal to the best in the world and taller than most in Africa.

So I proved that he indeed submitted but was prevented from defending it by the forerunners of McCarthyism. That's why when Nkrumah was receiving his honorary PhD from Lincoln he took the pains of denying that he was a communist.
