You're arguing as if Nana Akufo Addo and his contemporaries' intent to contest the leadership, PREVENTS the YOUTH from lunching their own bid for the party leadership. NOBODY is holding the YOUTH back from excercising their inalienable rights: Our constitution gives EVERY Ghanaian of 18 years or older the RIGHT to stand for public office, so Nana Akuffo Addo at 70 and any Ghanaian YOUTH who 18 or over the SAME right.

Instead of asking the so called OLDER politicians to satnd down, rather ask the so called YOUTH to get involved in politics, after all, you want to be a "business person, you can do so without asking those who are already in business to cease doing business before you can proceed, right?

He seems to associate the qualities of people to their age. A young snake will grow up to be an old snake and a good young person will grow up to be a good old person.
Like Stoner pionted out, Yeboah does have some maturing to do.

Nana Addo have lost 2 general elections,it will be wise for NPP to find out why his campaign strategy was not effective.It will be prudent for NPP to debate or make known the report of the Supreme Court expenditure and the verdict review by its commitee.You cannot convince the electorate that Nana Addo is the best for NPP because of his election petition,it's not satisfactory.As for me,I think the election petition has disqualified him.To begin with,Nana Addo should not have demanded the Supreme Court to over turn the results and declare him president.He should have just call for a rerun but for the judges to throw away over 4 million votes cast was just a bad joke.What a blunder?I think his capacity of judgement deceived him or he is a victim of his own naivety.NPP can do better with a new face in 2016.Thank you.

I have been stressing the NPP's need to change their candidate but, as is the problem with a lot o political parties, there seems to be a personal dimension to the emerging struggle to lead the Party.

Nana Addo has a very good CV - so does his main rival Alan. Check their profiles on Wikipedia and you will be impressed.

However, my feeling is that Nana's opportunity was in 2008. However, a bad campaign and a lot of mud-slinging by the NDC cost his this chance and ever since he has been playing catch up in his quest to lead the nation. He might have won in 2012 had he faced Mills (even Mahama has hinted at this) but Mills death ensured that was not to be.

The NPP must move beyond the politics the person and focus on winning. I agree with the writer that Nana has nothing new to give and thus i the party want power it must go for Alan whether some o the activists like him or not.

Just by way of correction Danquah was twice elected to the Legislative Council and, also, he did not refer to himself as the Doyen o Gold Coast Politics. That was the view o the colonial authorities given his role in the UGCC, his court cases, attack on the plan for a Sedition bill etc

Of note however is that in 1960 Danquah realized, and stated plainly, that his time on the electoral battlefield as up and he should devote his energies to civil liberties litigation in the courts. It will help if Nana takes a cue from his grandather's brother and do the same
