Love him or hate him, he was simply a brave soldier for surviving all those attempts on his life. My beef with Rawlings was coming back as a civilian. He should have retired in politics after Ghana went democratic in 92.

Celebrate him for what? Twenty years of a failed revolution for the majority of ghanaians is equal to a successful treasure hunt adventure for Rawlings. I cannot celebrate failure. He is lucky to be alive and he must spend the rest of his days thanking God daily for tender mercies. Rawlings should have been serving a life sentence in jail if it wasn't for the Indemnity Clause his handpicked Constituent Assembly members surreptitiously inserted into the 1992 constitution.
