I have these days, been thinking that, one, Fosu John, aiias insolent and uncouthed'Kumawu Krakye', who has, for sometime immemorial, been raining unfounded insults and lies on the great King of The Asantes, has re-incarnated in the person of Rockson Adofo.

However, if it it true that The wise King of The Asantes, has come out to declare, and I quote:

"...Therefore, for Asantehene to ban the custom of invoking river deities or deities in general, in the Ashanti region, for whatever reason, is as unfortunate as it is questionable. It becomes more dubious when the one seeking the truth is threatened by the very people entrusted to ensure justice and truth prevails at all times.... "

then , I think , for the first time, Rockson Adofo alias John Fosu or Fosu John, is speaking the truth.

Tradition as it is, should be left intact.

Secondly, it is not the role of the King to make any such declarations, but rather, it is the duty of the Nsumankwaahene,the head of all the Asante dieties, if any, to resolve this.

I have my doubts!

The great Asante King will NEVER make such an open declaration.

I think the Otumfuo may have some kind of good intentions when he called for a total ban on invocation of those 'lifeless' deities to bring non existing, if not phantom, or ineffective curses into the air which has become predominately rampant in kookoasi of late. I am not superstitious and do not think for once that any such foolish invocation can have a positive impact in my life. Africans has been made to believe in this prehistoric practices, which has been creating fear and panic among ourselves for centuries of generation, and find it very difficult to emancipate ourselves from this mental slavery that is taking tole on the better parts of our lives and has been hampering our development since time immemorial. Probably the Otumfuo see what I see, and do not want the owners of those shrines or deities to continue to exploit his sheepishly ignorant subjects and thereby used his unsolicited powers, not legally binding though, to veto a ban on invocation of curses on the land perceived to belong to his majesty.
It is important to notice here that, per the dictates of the constitution, the supreme embodiments of the laws on the land, everybody has the right to turn down the summons of any traditional ruler. The final option for any chief to exercise his power of arbitration is to resort to the law courts to sort out issues. So failure to appear before any chief is not a crime but can be described as insubordination at best.

This class was created by the whiteman and they damn right want to rule their respective people with contortion and evil hands. They are very disrespectful and by and large they exhibit the comic paradox which use to be held in deep respect by our illiterate fathers and grand-fathers.
