The PDA, the national witch hunt which turned the nation into a police state like present day North Korea also set the nation on a backward track to disintegration. Instead of bringing people of diverse backgrounds and opinions together, respecting, honoring and celebrating our God given rights including liberty and moral agency, this draconian law deepened the divide and hate mongering. The nation was thus set on an irreversible track to self destruct and it came as no surprise when Nkrumah was overthrown.
Democracy is about tolerating differences and coming together to build a nation that embraces all shades of opinions and which works for the benefit of all.
The UP could have been wrong with some of its decisions and actions but so was Nkrumah with the PDA and some of his other decisions. No one is right or wrong all the time. We can bury our heads in the sand, fool ourselves and believe we're right all the time and everybody else is wrong. We can play the blame game forever and forever forget about nation building. We can also choose to forgive one another, embrace our differences and manage to work together for the general good. As for Sangaparee he can't even stand the realization that we're one people with a common destiny and we rise or fall together. Let me remind Sangaparee the futility and dangerousness of his adventure and that it's not impossible to grow together in spite of our differences . Stop stoking the fire of disunity. Now we have two crucial programmes that can take us back to slavery,namely EPA and GMO.
