  Thanks Tawiah, and this is what the PPP has been saying all this while, and as you said people don't see the import of education. In my constituency the electorate were conned into thinking that they needed and will benefit from being given basins to carry their fish rather than education, "ye pe hwiasambo yen pe education" became a chant in my constituency. Can you bring your head around this. Our leaders have consciously over the last three decades eroded our educational structures, we now have a population that is not inquisitive or analytical, we don't even have the desire to find out why thing are the way they are. We have been made to accept mediocrity. So if you are due 10 and are given 3 you say, thank God, because you consider yourself lucky to have gotten even the 3.
  
  The PPP will implement FCUBE to the letter, free compulsory and universal basic education is the right of every child as enshrined in the 1992 Constitution. The compulsory and universal is the key, and the PPP will make sure that every child of school going age goes to school. As stated in the constitution schools should be universal, a school in Nampurugu should the same amenities and facilities as a school in Takoradi, classrooms, labs including IT, libraries, playgrounds, washrooms, kitchens and canteens, as well as teachers residence. This is will benefit all not a few in the cities. We should ask ourselves who is going to benefit from free SHS? How many folks from the rural areas will benefit from this when they do not have classrooms nor desks to write on?

  Statistics, Maths, Sciences? Oh yes, we all know that. What we don't know is how, really, to actually bring these things down to the children - even those in the villages.

  Agyaquajo, it's not enough to just comment, else you'll just be repeating things everyone knows already. Social commentators should also offer suggestions for practical action, not just we say we should do this, we should do that. Our biggest problem is why we are not able to do the things that we know we have to do. Why is the ministry of education not being effective in implementing programmes to promote Science, Maths and Statistics and what should they do to achieve that? These are the relevant questions.
