Okatakyie, no wonder you lost your job because nobody will continue to keep such a person with myopic thinking. Your attributes for leadership is laughable. Do you think putting such crabs in the public domain will attract floating voters to your party? You are rather driving us away. Why don't you concentrate on what your God send Alan can do for the party and the nation when he wins power. Being handsome, giant, youthful and humble do not make one a good leader. So Alan is a humble person in your own parochial estimation? Remember not all that glitters is gold.
From your telephone numbers I can confidently say that you are no more living in UK as you have gone back to Ghana to do your master's biding in order to get your daily bread.
Ghana at moment needs innovative, selfless, disciplinarian and visionary leaders who can deliver us from the hardship we find ourselves.
The media forum is not the place to canvass for votes from Npp delegates.
Please Okatakyie give us a break. Some of us are tired of your crabs.

Katakyie, here you come again with incomplete or wrong analysis of why NPP lost 2008 and 2012 elections. It is true that the humility of Mills might have contributed to his victory in 2008 but might have been minor.
By 2008, the division within NDC was less pronounced than in 2000, when the imposition of Mills on the party drove them apart. In fact, some of those who broke away rejoined Mills to campaign. Again, the door-to-door or meet the voters exercise embarked upon by Mills did played a role. Then, Mills standing up to the Rawlingses by choosing his own VP candidate instead of what the Rawlingses wanted also persuaded voters that Mills was his own man and would not be under the spell of Rawlings when elected. Finally, when NPP failed to secure the "one touch victory" more voters from the smaller parties opted for Mills.
It is laughable to suggest that the untimely death of Mills was to the electoral advantage of Akufo-Addo. On the contrary, it favoured NDC. The outpouring of public grief and sympathy towards NDC soon after his death was definitely not in Akufo-Addo's favour. In fact, I suspect that Mills would have lost had he survived to contest the 2012 elections.
Mills's re-election as NDC flagbearer divided the party, which led to Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawling breaking away to form the NDP. Rawlings was almost not on speaking terms with Mills and would not have played any role in the NDC campaign. That changed after his death which enabled Rawlings to play a limited but effective role in Mahama's campaign.
Your assertion that Mills's death favoured Akufo-Addo actually tells me why NPP lost because when the players of the game changed NPP continued as if nothing had changed. For example, the way NDC coronated Mahama as replacement flagbearer without any infighting was regarded by voters as mature and an indication of A party ready to continue in government. Again, the fact that now a Northerner was the candidate and not the VP candidate was hugely advantageous to NDC. Do you remember some people questioned whether if that had happened to NPP, Bawumia would have been given the same opportunity by NPP? Mills's death was a political dynamite for NPP, especially, with Mahama becoming the flagbearer but from what you are saying NPP considered it to be a political advantage. what a miscalculation? That is one of the reasons why NPP lost because you guys misinterpreted that unfortunate event and its aftermath.
You may challenge me on the effectiveness of the Mills door to door campaign and say that Akufo-Addo did the same for 2012 but he lost. The difference was that, the style did not fit Akufo-Addo. When he appeared in the media eating with voters, it was not genuine because that is not what people know him for. When Bawumia was reported to have pounded fufu in homes, again, it was superfluous. That is a style fit for Rawlings so when copied blindly, it would have negative effect because people know it's pretentious. Akufo-Addo and Bawumia were following the saying, "when in Rome do what the Romans do". That does not work in real life and only Anthropologists are effective in doing that. In real life, it should be, "when in Rome, be yourself but remember you are in Rome".
I am not sure with such misleading analysis, how NPP could learn lessons for 2016.

I am happy we are coming to the bottom of why NPP lost the general elections in 2008 and 2012.I have always said the NPP's campaign strategy was ineffective and the election petition was a stupid one.By the way,NDC won more parliamentary votes than NPP in 2008 first polls which rendered Nana Addo's lead irrelevant and benefited Prof.Mills in the run off.I was intrigued to hear that Nana Addo filed an election petition, demanding the Supreme Court to overturn the official results and declare him president.I have told the oldman to withdraw his case before the judges throw it away but he did not pay heed to it.I totally agree with Katakye that the delegates should elect a new face but not Alan.Thank you.

Abiola was a great leader of industry but it is not certain he would have been a good political president of a nation. Your example from Nigeria should rather have been Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the great man and the best President Nigeria never had... He tried and tried but failed.
I don't know if you can compare Akufo-Addo with Obafemi. Almost all Yoruba worshipped Awolowo. I don't think all Akans are as enamoured of Akufo-Addo as the Yoruba were of Awolowo. Awolowo was charismatic too and exuded wisdom. He was as shrewd a politician as you could get in Nigeria. He was experienced too playing major policy formulating roles during the Nigerian civil war. And he was a real lawyer - nobody raised any doubts about that. Yet with all these qualities, Awolowo could never attain the Nigerian presidency.
But when Awolowo passed away, all of Yoruba land stopped. His funeral was huge. I was teaching in Nigeria by then. The Igbos didn't like him but his funeral was a national affair.
Yet he never became President...
I don't know what lessons Akufo-Addo can learn from Awolowo's experience. Perhaps Akufo-Addo can succeed in Ghana where Awolowo failed in Nigeria. If Akufo doesn't make it this time, even if they give the presidency to him free in 2020, he won't take it, even if he is able to do so.

Your behaviour, no doubt, is the beginning of madness. Keep that selfish idiot and motherfucker, Alan to yourself. We know who is the right choice, the next president. All those divisive, evil tactics being employed by Alan and your kind, will never wash. Nana Akufo-Addo has the toughest skin. He still remains the people's choice. He lost in 2008 because of the well calculated, massive electoral fraud that we witnessed at the hands of EC, collaborating with NDC. Get it into your bloody fucking head, that the delegates can't be fooled at all. They are critically observing everything on the ground. For instance, they know too well that Alan is coming on board just to seek his parochial, selfish interests. They know that he was at 'war' with the party after the 2008 elections, at a time when he was most needed. He said he won't have anything to do with the party, and he travelled abroad. Now he comes back playing dirty politics, as if Ghanaians are fools. It sounds really stupid, absurd and nonsensical to hear Allan saying that he was sidelined. Such lies make him look worse. Allan's abrupt desertion of the party is a factor that will play against him, mark my words, your day dreamer. How can you describe Alan as a humble person, when he vehemently and stubbornly refused to patch up with a colleague over trivial party issues? Hasn't he shown himself, within the past 6 years, that he is excessively opportunistic, irresponsible and vindictive and rude? Every effort by party stalwarts like Odoi Sykes, to convince him to let bygones be bygones, so he can rally behind the winner, Akufo-Addo, fell on the rock. Is this the kind of leader we want? He has already failed the test; he is not worthy of being a unifier at all. Nobody stops him from competing with Nana for the NPP flagbearship. But the unethical, unorthodox methods being employed, to put Nana in a very bad light, won't be tolerated. People won't waste their time on foolish issues like this. If you think Alan is more popular, let's wait and see.

His mother is from the Central Region and father from the Ashanti Region. If such an

As Dr. Kwame Nkrumah once said; "See ye first political power, and all other things

What exctly has Alan Kyerematen done for Ghana as a politician? What did he achieve as minister? What did he do with the cassava project in the "President' initiative?"
How about the government property he is reported to have sold in Washington DC? Is that what made him "Mr Cash" Your ideal candidate may not be ideal afterall, so don't try to damage anyone in pursuit of this daft parochial pursuit!

The writer has done a PERFECT INTELLECTUAL and FACTUAL analysis, diagnosis, and remedial of the ghanaian voting pattern. I agree with him 200 percent considering the trend in the ghanaian voter mentality, from pre independece elections up to date. Nothing has changed about what the ghanaian voter look at to cast his or her vote. It is an open secret that most voters consider the beauty of the candidates to the extend that some even in the cities would go compare posters of the candidates as they are normally posted close to each other, and said, im gonna vote for mr A because he is the most handsome and all that. It is not about who can do the job. For that, these group of voters will tell you OBIARA BA SAA, and they cut across the length and breath of the country, cities or villages, they dont care much about our book long, economy, corruption,or whatever. For those who vote base on performance we have the edge and they will vote for us so far as we remain the credible party which can turn the economy around, but their votes cannot sail us through, so why dont we position the party to sway the voters who vote base on beauty and other attractives, afterall they are the majority.
NPP delegates, please dont be emotional but look at the realities and give us a winnable candidate, not someone who is popular in the NPP per se. pleaaaase!!!!!!!!!

Okatakyie likes Nana as all of us NPP members do but sometimes we need to be open minded and do a dispassionate analysis of the facts. A lot of Ghanaians especially our majority illiterate population still vote based on looks, physique, and personality and unfortunately Nana scores very low in these plus his old age and perceived arrogance and litigatious posture will help the NDC win the personality contest. Let's keep analyzing, thinking and most importantly surveying our voters. This is very important because we should not conjecture and allow 2016 to be another wasted effort.
