Today in Accra the largest religious building in the country will be the mosque being build on our national park at Nima donated by Turkey confirming the Islamic domination of Ghana. Tribalism mixed with chauvinism and despotism from the north has now equaled the hegemony of the ewes . A.C.C.R.A any criminal can roam about so we have them everywhere now . even at the scholarship secretariat hardly ever is an Akan awarded the privilege to go abroad and study now . The Akans are the majority but because most continue to sleep or blindly trust the other tribes these atrocities are taking place . We look at the political strategy of the NDC and see the typical Hannibal wench when he turned the strengths of the mighty Roman army against themselves as they are doing to the Akans . From the south they use part of the Fantis and from the North the Brongs , from behind we have the chariot onslaught of the Gas Ewes Krobos. Yes the political landscape reflects a war which is only meant to destroy the right of self governance of the God's chosen nation of Africa the Akan . For them its a big deal who leads the NPP but we really don't care as our movement grows stronger by the hour as more and more Akans wake up to reality of this dire situation . We did not ask for this war but we will fight it and be victorious as God is with us . Long live the Republic of Akan

I agree with you completely on what I believe is John Mahama’s ill-conceived idea of geopolitical unity in the West African sub-region. To begin with, Ghana does not have the region’s best equipped and/or largest army – Nigeria does – so to foolishly open our borders and lift restrictions on who comes in and goes out would mean nothing more than a free pass to Nigeria’s Boko Haram, a well-organized terrorist organization with the twin aims of Islamizing Nigeria and overthrowing its current, democratic, and secular government.

Boko Haram’s dogmatic postulations are so illogical, it takes an automaton, in my opinion, to join such an organization. Yet, the group, most likely supported by foreign nations and powerful radicals with an aversion to Western democracy, appears to be a magnet for brainwashed, malevolent elements within the nation-state of Nigeria.

Recently, a Nigerian friend, who also happens to be one of my Facebook.com contacts, wrote on her page that Boko Haram insurgents had come as far south as Ibadan, had taken over the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, and had already killed about 20 police officers at the time of her written warning. In other words, Boko Haram has become a real threat to the existence of Africa’s most populous nation.

The Nigerian government, with its large military force, is still unable to contain this dangerous group of Islamic radicals, so can you imagine what would happen if these rogues are allowed unfettered access to the comparatively small nations of Benin, Togo, and Ghana? Until Nigerians are able to eliminate this social scourge called Boko Haram, no one – absolutely no one! – should be advocating a geopolitical amalgamation in the West African sub-region. Ghana, like many of its neighbors, has a laundry list of problems, and we do not want to add Boko Haram to that list!

I am surprised about your narrow interpretation of President Mahama's call to open up the borders for closer integration within the region.He alluded to difficulties when closing our borders even with the protocol of free movement of people goods and services.Any objective person's understanding of the presidents call should suggest that he is not calling for the elimination of our borders per se but but to respect the protocol within the region.

National borders are subject to the usual border checks whether from ecowas or from outside the region but you must have to identify yourself and establish your right of entry to be allowed where ever you come from.

That how I understand it and that is how any reasonable person should understand the call.For Ahoofe and Pryce to misread this call and give it a wrong interpretation, is an indictment on the Ghanaian
intellectual.

Pryce are petty, as as Ghanaian converted European, though they say that there are no border between the schengen countries (no visas) but that is not say that we are not scrutined when passing through the borders-at least they(authority) will be looking for criminals who have no "free border right", then there is the issue of economic capability, that is I must prove within three months that I have a job and will not become society liability otherwise face deportation. Don't we have the same thing in Ecowas countries already? And what make Okoampa and Mr. Pryce laughable is-no matter how tight our borders are closed Boko Haram will find there way through. What could be significant is tightening of security and other measures to fight Boko Haram which absolutely have nothing to do with President Mahama's Ecowas free border call!

But what has surprised me is Daniel K. There is nowhere in the world where borders are opened as portrayed by ahoofe and pryce.You have to go through border protocols no matter whatever the treaty to ensure your identity and eligibility which qualifies you for entry.

I hesitate to believe you have the knack to jump to conclusions on every issue and would rather credit you with the benefit of the doubt.
Except in a perfect environment with perfect people it's unrealistic to expect mutual approbation on every issue but I'm sure you can also agree that civility in our interactions and discussions on the web rather than the vitriol and intemperate language enhances our ability to contribute positively on the raging and nagging issues of our time and environment. Anything short of this, like the ugly noises we're accustomed to hearing is unproductive and a disincentive to our noble aspirations.
You are not alone if you disagree with Kwame's writing style but aren't you "birds of same feather" if you purpose to match him boot for boot? I'd rather you showed him the "better way".
