ArcHbishop Sarpong has never mounted any political platform to denigrate Kwame Nkrumah, this is false like this idiots accusation that UP bomb throwers in September 1964 threw a bomb in Accra killing 20 school children and two days later threw another bomb that killed 80 school children.

Bedrock of Ghana’s democracy has dried up - Rev. Kwasi Sarpong

The Most Reverend Doctor Peter Kwasi Sarpong, Archbishop Emeritus of the Kumasi Catholic Archdiocese, on Wednesday called on politicians to develop a political culture of truth and integrity to enhance the country's democratic process.

He said many political leaders, businessmen and others in leadership positions lack what it takes to be truthful to the people they rule or govern.

Most Rev Sarpong was speaking at the first in the series of freedom power lectures, 2012, on the topic: “Truth, Integrity and Democratic Development: How Ghana is Faring”, in Accra.

The event organised by the Centre for Freedom and Accuracy (CFA) was to afford Ghanaians the opportunity to tap into his in-depth knowledge on the development of the nation's democracy.

He said political leaders cannot hide the light of truth and integrity from the people as long as they are leaders.

He said before anybody dreams of entering active politics, the person should ask him or herself questions like am l prepared to help elevate the plight of the citizens? Am l really a Ghanaian and am l prepared to sacrifice for Ghana?

“Ghanaians should not joke with politics they way they do, If only the answer to the questions is no,” he added.

He pleaded with all politicians especially Christian politicians to promote truth and integrity to transform the "nation's political sense" for improved development.

According to the Emeritus Archbishop, the woes of the African were the acceptance of western system of governance.

He advocated the development of a political system that combined the traditional system of government to enhance the democratic credentials of the country.

Most Rev Sarpong said the reduction in the inflation rate, low bank rates and other favourable economic indicators were all valueless, if the citizenry are hungry for truth and integrity.

Mr. Andrews Awuni, Executive Director of CFA, said the lectures would be the centre's contribution to free and fair elections come December.

He said it would also contribute towards improving upon the quality of Ghana's political discourse. **

For starters most of you critics have not seen an European nation you would not gladly move to and take up citizenship or citizenship in the US and or Canada you will turn down and yet each of those countries do continue to use exactly those administrative instruments Nkrumah used to hold his enemies in detention. I do not see any of you brain dead Nkrumah bashers staying away from those nations. The US and Britain hold people suspected of acts of terrorism, knowing and associating with or facilitating terrorist organizations indefinitely in detention camps. Nkrumah held people in the UP or UGCC fools who were terrorist and engaged in acts of terrorism when he should have banned the parties whose leadership included J.B. Danquah, K.A. Busia as terror groups. Tell me what do you do to people like, J.B. Danquah and or K.A. Busia who would rather see everyone in Ghana remain indentured servants and slaves to the British than to see Ghana become independent under Kwame Nkrumah? I will post the said speech here in about two hours for you to read it yourself.

What you are not aware is that this Sangaparee write fictions and try to pass them off as history. This same idiot wrote that a bomb thrown at Nkrumah in September of 1964 killed 80 school children two days after another bomb thrown at Nkrumah has killed twenty school children. This never happened and has not been reported anywhere.

You will read the said speech and judge for yourself if this old senile fool Sangaparee has not lost his marbles.

The so-called unity Nkrumah wanted to forge was dealt a blow when in 1960 declared himself a life president, thereby shutting the door to democracy. Nkrumah did not have a Vice President who could replace him, that was a man who was power drunk. Is he different from Qathafi or Mugabe?

The way you write - insulting everybody who has a different view of Ghana's History - is a clear evidence of what made Nkrumah what he became before he was overthrown - an intolerant brutal dictator. For you information Ghana is not now peopled by only former Young Pioneers. There are still many of us who also saw it all "fiili-fiili”. Secondly, he was still living with his people who are just intolerant to Ghana's course except to make a buck when they are on top.
A superiority complex in the nation of Ghana which makes our decline eminent until today.
Bshp. Sarpong would have been devoured if he had genuinely said any good thing about the only Ghana's son of the millenium.
The only viewI should say Clement or Ghana should take seriously, is the one communique released once a year by the Catholic Bishop's conference.

Now I connect it was the police man on watch at Flagstaff house who was planted to kill Nkrumah. I am from Volta not a fun of Kotoka but I believe his Statue and name should remain at tbe Accra airport because it is the truthof history he was killed there.
Gone are the Nkrumah days when a every school kid received a humper of Ghana made chocolates first day of every school re-opening. I lived it fir just one year and Nkrumah was overthrown so what is NPP talking about?

The Unity of Ghana is what the NPP should aim at or they will remain in the doldrums for ever if they follow Nana Addo who as a "lawyer" will say I accept the supreme court decision but do not agree. Ask me in court how many criminals can say that.
If you do not agree on a court decision It means you are one or more of these unrepentant, mad, sizophrenic, etc.

Whiles accusing UP leaders of 'throwing bombs' they support Rawlings for killing so many innocent Ghanaians and oppressing Ghana for 20 years. They support Rawlings for overthrowing Liman's government (led by Singapare's northern brother). Singapare has been spewing his nonsense for most of his adult life. This is a stupid man who is refusing to grow just like most of his colleagues with similar background and orientation. His small brain makes him think he is some great guy. His foolish talk only makes sense to his colleagues in the desert of the walking-corpses. May God have mercy on his miserable soul.
