  Sagnarigu, I whole-heatedly agree with you that SADA is a national project and not a "northern" project. I disagree with you, however, and also with all our representative parties in calling SADA Savannah Accelerated Development Authority. MOFA is equally wrong for not using the more correct appellation - Sahelian ecological zone, a biome that comprises the three northern regions, Upper West, Upper East, Northern Region, northern parts of Brong Ahafo Region, and northern parts of the Volta Region.
  
  The unpardonable mistake past policy makers of MOFA made is to treat the Sahelian ecological zone as your typical rainforest ecological zone; and the rest is history, which time and space wouldn't allow me to explicate.
  
  I am a proud son of Ghana, an Akan from Okwawu, who will never submit to the cognomen, a proud son of the south. Far too many of us have unfortunately succumbed to being tagged northerners, Akans, Ewes, Gas, instead of seeing ourselves as Ghanaians.
  
  The greater mistake we made with SADA is that we failed to organize and coordinate it into specified components - Strategy, Measurements , Processes, People, and Technology.
  
  In addition, we did not pay much attention to land use question, afforestation questions, reforestation questions, soil testing, livestock and guinea fowl rearing questions, not to mention the problem of irrigation. Tree planting involves a lot, and the horticultural department should have been ready.

  Osman, I agree with your intentions and aspirations for Ghanaians not to trivialise tribalism. But the blame should fall squarely on a president whose intentions and appointments especially to the SADA management team have more tribal leanings that it should.
  We need diversity of experience, exposure, skillset, knowledge and competencies to manage these national projects more than mere party and ethnic affiliations and loyalties.
  Finally, what is killing Ghana in its efforts to develop is the complete lack of ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEMS from the top of the hierarchy down to the man on the street. People at the helm of affairs don't seem to understand what accountability systems are, hence we have no "system" in Ghana and we live in chaos.
