No meaningful Ghanaian leader would insult people even in private conservation. From your subjective way of looking at things, if you feel the Pres erred, just draw his attention.
Magnifying it as you're doing takes Ghanaians nowhere. Excessive ethnocentrism is causing us many problems. Think Ghanaian and remember that JM is human and therefore infallible.
Ignore those who attempt to defend what he said and remain focus on solving issues affecting Ghana.

Nobody can hide the light and true destiny of the great nation of Akan. they use all kinds of schemes and tricks to undermine or deny a proper standard to us but we shall never surrender. we shall change and adapt as like the Israelis we are the chosen people of God and he in his great design has made us diverse but unified in spirit. the ashantis like the tribe of Judah are and will remain an integral part of our being to to attack any one part we all end up feeling it sooner or later. they have succeed in turning some of our chiefs and kings against us and work for their evil ungodly agenda but we still see clearly . God has brought us into the 21st century and with that a new system of governance and state of mind based on democracy since it is HE alone who blesses the individuals with the gift of leadership wisdom and justice irrespective of status at birth. he has shown us the blue print of the way forward in the bible and other holy books and the time has come to free ourselves from this man made bondage called Ghana. just as in the Ukraine we must fight so the truth will come out , fear not the battle as they will crumble like the walls of Jericho . cast away our so called fake leaders and politicians who are nothing but cowards and like our enemies fear even their own shadows . yes God has put a million fears in their empty bodies as he who does not fear the Lord , the Lord will ensure all fears of the world will reside in him. They threaten us with superstition , juju and what have you and we say fuck you and go to hell as the divine power is with us . Yes all the tribes of Akan are fingers on the same hands and God has ordained we remain united so our strength and light will be visible throughout the whole world and universe , our time has come . everyday its becoming clearer and clearer to all children of Akan that we must prepare mentally for a battle of freedom . they come with tricks that say we must take a non Akan as our leader because its nice ? do they not think that out of 30 million Akans we can not find sensible down to earth leaders and warriors to lead our own people to our own destiny? a govt of the people and by the people is what the 21st century democracy is all about . let them continue to play with the consensus and other figures that justify their fantasy and enable them to marginalize the participation of the Akan majority in the Affairs of their own land , to marginalize us thus preventing us to afford a better standard for our people . The had of God has given them pestilence after pestilence but they refuse to let our people go , soon they will be swept away like chaff in the hurricane of fury . Long live the republic of Akan and don't you forget it as now the Fanti speakers, Twi speakers, Ashantis and other tribes of Akan are now one .

First, Mahama never made the comments he's purported to have made against Ashantis. The doctored tape has been shown to be fraudulent and thus discredited. Nowhere on the tape did Mahama mention Ashantis, but I guess Arthur K, couldn't wait long enough to authenticate the story before injecting himself into the story and making such a mess of himself. How unfortunate!

And does it even really matter whether he mentioned Kumasi or Asante people after quoting that Akan proverb? to buttress his point?
The question is, should a President of the Nation be a divisive one or a UNIFIER? So it does not matter used "SOME PEOPLE" or "ASANTES" or "KUMASE?"
Give me a break! Will ya
He goes to Kumasi and started blasting Lumba's song " YEN NTIE OBIA, Ye Nea Woho Beto Wo" Was the music directed against the Asawase Northerners or Ewes at Ayigya people? Why should a civilized President allowed that song to be used while he tries to bring people together for a good of the country? Was he not being a divisive leader by blasting that song? And it is not the same reason why he would used such divisive proverb to justify what he wanted to say against his "enemies?"
Certainly, we are dealing with an uncivilized idiot who does not know what to say and kwaku Baako is right about that.

Good morning, Nyansasem. It's true that there is a doctored tape because I listened to two versions yesterday morning on Citi FM morning show. The presenter played the doctored tape and the original recorded by their own correspondent in Kumasi. In the doctored tape, the word Kumasi has be moved and cleverly inserted in another section.
Irrespective of where the Kumasi appeares, what the President said was unacceptable. It's unfortunate that Ghanaweb did not post my article on the same subject which I sent to them before 5.00pm UK time. It's on Modernghana.com and you can have a look at it. The president should not use language that polarises Ghana but one that unifies the nation. Just imagine if Nana Akufo-Addo had said this in Ho? The same NDC propagandists who are defending the president would have accused Nana Akufo-Addo of insulting the people of Ho or Volta region or ethnocentrism. What is wrong is wrong but particularly serious if it comes from the president.

Thank you for clarification. Yes, there is no room for divisive politics. The same people who are accusing Addo for saying "YEN AKANFO" don't see anything wrong with his comments. Akufo was presidential Candidate was accused but Mahama who is the President should not be criticized of his divisive comments.
Thanks.

Nyansasem, yes, it's true that you and me were not there but the Citi FM Breakfast Show host said that the tape he claimed to be authentic was what the station's Kumasi reporter sent to them in Accra. The reporter was at the function and recorded the president live and the station had not edited the tape. I therefore gave the programme host the benefit of the doubt. That is all what I can say, though I am also aware that some of these radio stations in Ghana could be affiliated to political parties but I am unaware of Citi Fm's political allegiance.

I will say if you play with a dog it likes your lips. Does the Ashanti deserve every bit of the insults Otumfour and Asanteman received from JDM. My answer is, it depends. Its time to learn a lesson and unite as a people with a common bond in a country called Ghana and not allow tribal sentiments to divide us. Mahama is not a true Northerner. Paternally a Northerner and Maternally an Akan. He is a Ghanaian. Why is that he say something and its seen as being Tribalistic. He was just talking to his teeming supporters in the Ashanti Region where he consider not to be his stronghold. He was caught in the moment with gaffes. He could have put to rest this unfortunate situation by apologizing to the Ashantehene and the people to settle matters. He possibly think there is no need for apology because He is friends with asantehene and of course he is the President. That is what you get for playing with a dog.

It was his useless association with stupid people that is why his name was mentioned among drug dealers. Even though, he was not part of the gang, they found it necessary to use his name to throw their weights around.
And the fact that it is has been said that he keeps on using Ibrahim's plane to travel around, Mahama could care less about what he says to the Asantes or do with them. As leader of the Asante Nation, he should have used his position to demand answers to WHY the pilot program of the NHIS capitation is still stuck with the Asante REGION for years with no end in sight. But NO, and yet, the people of the Region has to be 'silent' for his stupid 64th birthday for a whole month. What nonsense!

Ntim your comments are encouraging but let it be clear that, a resonable and sensible head of state will never make such irresponsible comments to a section of the populace whom he thinks will never appreciate his performance. If left unchecked of his utterances, this son of asshole will continue insulting some group of the populace and go free.
He went to Eastern Region recently and spewed same nonsense by saying Kibi is Headquarters of Galamsey. Do you think if people have decent work or jobs to do, they will do this menial and dangerous job? Absolutely not. Brainy people knows that government don't create jobs but rather create an environment for existing and up-coming entreprenuers to take advantage and expand their businesses to create jobs for the teeming unemployed who are aimlessly walking without any future for them. Can Mahama and his team come out with their job creation numbers which most countries depend upon to weight their economic performance? This smelly skunk of a person need to be told who he is and stop him from his inflammatory comments which has become his recent communication style.
Great communicators choose words of wisdom in difficult times to boost the morale of the citizens and not these irresponsible utterances. I like your last sentence and I quote "That is what you get for playing with a dog"
