My family stretches far and wide and covers all tribes in Ghana including Ewe. I find this article very offensive. There are ways to refute allegations and wrong assumptions about ppl and this of cause no way to do that.

Nobody can hide the light and true destiny of the great nation of Akan. they use all kinds of schemes and tricks to undermine or deny a proper standard to us but we shall never surrender. we shall change and adapt as like the Israelis we are the chosen people of God and he in his great design has made us diverse but unified in spirit. the ashantis like the tribe of Judah are and will remain an integral part of our being to to attack any one part we all end up feeling it sooner or later. they have succeed in turning some of our chiefs and kings against us and work for their evil ungodly agenda but we still see clearly . God has brought us into the 21st century and with that a new system of governance and state of mind based on democracy since it is HE alone who blesses the individuals with the gift of leadership wisdom and justice irrespective of status at birth. he has shown us the blue print of the way forward in the bible and other holy books and the time has come to free ourselves from this man made bondage called Ghana. just as in the Ukraine we must fight so the truth will come out , fear not the battle as they will crumble like the walls of Jericho . cast away our so called fake leaders and politicians who are nothing but cowards and like our enemies fear even their own shadows . yes God has put a million fears in their empty bodies as he who does not fear the Lord , the Lord will ensure all fears of the world will reside in him. They threaten us with superstition , juju and what have you and we say fuck you and go to hell as the divine power is with us . Yes all the tribes of Akan are fingers on the same hands and God has ordained we remain united so our strength and light will be visible throughout the whole world and universe , our time has come . everyday its becoming clearer and clearer to all children of Akan that we must prepare mentally for a battle of freedom . they come with tricks that say we must take a non Akan as our leader because its nice ? do they not think that out of 30 million Akans we can not find sensible down to earth leaders and warriors to lead our own people to our own destiny? a govt of the people and by the people is what the 21st century democracy is all about . let them continue to play with the consensus and other figures that justify their fantasy and enable them to marginalize the participation of the Akan majority in the Affairs of their own land , to marginalize us thus preventing us to afford a better standard for our people . The had of God has given them pestilence after pestilence but they refuse to let our people go , soon they will be swept away like chaff in the hurricane of fury . Long live the republic of Akan and don't you forget it as now the Fanti speakers, Twi speakers, Ashantis and other tribes of Akan are now one .

I have given the same advice to my Cyber friend, K-Boateng and thank God, he has finally listened to me.

I refused to read your long tortured tribal diatribe. The fact that you have found another clueless moron in the person of Francis Kwarteng does not mean you should go back to your earlier days where you spent all your time eating, drinking and dreaming of the Asantes and fighting with perceived or imaginary enemies on this forum. Let that useless moron continue to churn out his stupid articles here. Even his earlier "friends,"- those losers in the UK who came here boasting about their degrees have stopped trying to respond to his articles. Obviously, they realized very late that, he is a nut case, just like Okoampa. While Okoampa may be using his own brains to write his article, this idiot, keeps on churning quotations from useless historians to fill his articles.

Spend your time wisely. And that is the advice I will give as a friend. No one, again no person can destroy any tribe in our Country, be it Ewe or Akyem or Asante or Dagomba on these pages. Have you forgotten that, your own friend SECKAGO die like a GOAT in the UK with no one around him; not even his children. Yet, on these pages, he waged war with the Asantes and even coined the term "Asanthiefour" with the support from many Ewes, you included. Yet, when he died, it was found that he was a lonely wretched man fighting against the UK government in his old council flat.

We also know that University of Pittsburgh fired Botwe Asamoah. He took them to court and his case has been thrown out and has still not got a job. He followed Okoampa to insult the write nasty things about a man he did not know- JB Danquah, just to hit back at Okoampa because of the latter negative writings about Nkrumah. He came back here talking about going to JB Danquah's family to apologize to them for the things he wrote about JB Danquah- Ask him and he will tell you the truth. May be he is now realizing that after all, there is Karma and you shouldn't let hate to cause you to do any harm to anyone who has not done anything to you just because you want to justify what your demi-god, Nkrumah did. Who knows the age of Francis Kwarteng's wheelchair in his nursing home at Colorado?

This is an advice as a friend here. Let the idiots continue in their folly and wise up.

Nyansasem, this post is a reaction to what you "these Akans" have been saying against Ewes. You are the people who must get used to Ewes. Ewes are already used to Asantes and have forgiven them for past transgressions and accepted them as fellow human beings. That's why you find an Ewe in even the most remote Asante hamlet!

BTW, many Asantes are used to Ewes and will choose an Ewe over an Asante for a spouse, worker or business partner. I know some personally and they even admit to me that we Ewes have been tagged very wrongly. They wondered why we don't respond to correct those wrong images painted of us. All those Asantes are not included in my "these Akans". And mind you, my write-up is not about Asantes. Some of the vilest anti-Ewe "these Akans" I had met come from the BA, C/R and E/R. So, don't turn this into an Asante thing. If you know any history of Asantes at all, you should know that Asantes and my people the Anlos were traditional allies. We Anlos don't have any traditional fear, hatred or apprehension of the Anlos.

BTW, I wasn't expecting this to be published so early. Friday was my hope, so that I can have time to deal with the morons with my spikes-studded club.

Anyway, this is just the interlude or warmer to my 8 or 9 series which has been ready for years now, so all of you shall be educated about the past, pre-colonial era fraught relations.

I have reliable information on an "Asante" Ghanaweb columnist who uses Ewe-sounding names (monikers) to attack (insult) my articles in the comment section, giving me the impression that some of our good and decent Ewe brothers and sisters who read my articles have a problem with me as an "Akan."

Sometimes this same Ghanaweb columnist uses "Akan" monikers to insult me then tells me "that is why only Ewes read your aticles." You all know this Ghanaweb columnist I am talking (but will withhold his identity." He's one of the most ill-informed and ethnocentric characters I have come across in my entire life.

Finally, I have never had any problems with my African brothers and sisters. Ethnicity means "nothing" to be really. I take all my Ghanaian/African brothers and sisters as one of my own.

Anyway, thanks for being there for me. You may surprised that I, an Akan (Asante/Fanti), have been fighting the same battle our good, intelligent, and extraordinarily informed brother Andy have been describing here, against some of our Akan brothers and sisters. A brother of mine does not undertsand why I love Ewes! I love everyone regardless. Like I said before, ethnicity is not one of my headaches. But I will "fight" any body who disrespects another brother or sister because of ethnicity.

Even Ahoofe used to target his much beloved "Anlo-Ewes"; not all Ewes per se. You know much of his ancestry is straight from the Peki-Blengoe royalty! His father actually considered himself an Ewe from Peki, not an Akyem. I shall tell you all about why Ahoofe has this mania about "Anlo-Ewes." It all started with the last Asante invasion of Weme, or northern Eweland, otherwords known in the annals as "Krepi."

One can have a good case but spoil it by arguing badly. Andy has some good historical facts worth examining and learning by. But by casting his piece as an insulting diatribe against certain Akans, he has spoiled a good case.

He could just have written the piece presenting the pure historical facts and the evidence to back them and let the reader decide for himself. There is no need to target certain individuals and hit them with raw insults. There is no need to insult "ALL" Akans which is what most readers of ghanaweb will take this even though Andy consistently writes "these Akans". He has been long enough on ghanaweb to know how things can be misinterpreted. MOST AKANS DO NOT INSULT EWES!!! The names that he has mentioned here are not representative of ALL Akans. What goes on on ghanaweb is not even representative of what goes on in the real Ghana. Even on ghanaweb, there are many Akans who do not insult Ewes! Of course, we can argue out things and correct mistaken representations even on ghanaweb. But do we have to be insulting each other to get our points across?

He could have presented his facts so intelligently that readers will be in no doubt as to his target and purpose even though HE DID NOT MENTION NAMES OR USE INSULTING WORDS.

There are nice ways of saying "bad" things. Andy hasn't made use of that. Many people will ignore the hard historical facts he has presented here and see the piece as the concoction of a bigoted mind.

In the face of the bigots' vitriol against someone else's tribe, it's easy to march into a herd mentality to suppprt one's tribe but blanket condemnation does not always call for blanket retaliation. An eye for an eye will eventually leave everyone blind.
Today the tribal divide and partisan divide have synced up perfectly, making us stoically disagreeable with each other.
The on-going raging debates on tribal supremacy which are used to highlight our differences could also be used to explore the commonality of interests, shared attributes, characteristics,goals, etc. so we can dispel some of the myths and distrusts that have been perpetuated over time. We have the power and opportunity to shape the norms and values of our society, especially those who are well placed by virtue of their circumstances like Andy.

Though they hate the Ewes, they can equally not live without them as it is the Ewes who impart them with academic knowledge.

Culturally, i have never known of any laughable claim that the 'golden stool' came from the sky instead of the ground.

Interestingly, was it not an Ewe, Rawlings who saved them when Nigeria retaliated by enforcing the deportation order in 1983? Rawlings even went further by promulgating the interstate succession law to allow 'These Akans' to be able to inherit from their father/s (parents) instead of Wofa.

They call President Mahama, Pepeni/cattle herder yet foam at the mouth when he questions their patriotism. 'These Akans' are prepared to give it out in any form but equally don't have the stomach and thick skin to receive the heavy punches.

No, I am not instigating by any yardstick or deduction from what I wrote tribal or ethnic hatred for any ethnic group. What I am instigating is what Norwegians call "avsky", which in translation is a combination of "disgust" and "loathing" for something, in this case for public expression of ethnic vilification and demeaning of others by some members of the Akan ethnic group in Ghana. Whites have reached that stage in their devt, that's why they have Ethnic Vilification Acts. Whites are prosecuted or punished by loss of jobs for for less racist comments than some members of the Akan ethnic group make against Ewes and Northerners. They know that they can't make those statements publicly without consequences; whereas in Ghana, one can go on TV or radio and advocate killing Ewes [add Gas to them for good measure] and go scot free, as you know.

Well, I am beginning the process which can only end in Ghana, with appropriate legislation in place to checkmate incidences which may result if the ethnic xenophobia is not curbed and stopped.

I did not mention the sentiment of one group of Ewes, who don't respond or even want to discuss these insults directed at Ewes. As one such person, an ex-servicemen said to me in 1993: don't worry yourself. Let them try. What their "torgbuiwo", meaning great, great grandfathers, did and we forgave them, this time if they try, we shall wear the same pair of trousers. I want to forestall all those Ewes who think like that too.

Btw, this is just a hot warmer to what is to come.

Folks, unlike what "these Akans" think and have been calling him trokosi too, Francis is a bonafide Asante but I address him as a brother. After all, as Afrifa reminded us in his book, one reason why he accepted to join the 1966 coup was that Ewes were traditional allies of the Asantes. I think he should have written "Anlos" instead of Ewes. Yes, the same way Anlos used to address Akwamus too as brothers and created myths which made them part of the general Ewe migration movt. That's how the toli about Okomfo Anokye being an Ewe arose. So much to say, so little time....

Now, this warmer isn't even part of my series. It is just something I cooked up recently to warm the warm the ground. So, those already waving white flags prematurely are trying to spoil the fun. I haven't even started yet. I have 300 years of history to narrate!

What I have simply done here is turn the tables on these virulent segment of the Akan ethnic group by throwing back at them their own words. I adopted a strategy used by white psychologists fighting racism whereby whites are exposed to [racist] taunts, etc., by Blacks and/or Latinos to see how they'd react. They often become very pissed up and angry.

One thing most people don't know is that much of NAZI propaganda against the Jews were simply things lifted from Zionist writings and then turned against the Jews in general. Some may recollect that the even UN once voted Zionism as racism. So, I've pitted myself and my family against all those anti-Ewe cretins, using some of the negative things they say about we Ewes. Of course, most ordinary Akans can't match up to the level of myself and my family, not to mention my Adzorvia clan which produced and continue to produce some of the common names all of you know in Ghana. Not that there are no efulefu and never-do-well in the extended family or clan. But all of us are lumped together and insulted ad nauseam by "these Akans" with reckless abandon whenever it pleases them!

Well, from henceforth, there will be consequences for any such abuses.

Like many of your readers, I feel deeply pained and frustrated over the systematic vilification of an entire ethnic group by a select few from an opposing set who call themselves Ghanaians; this from individuals who claim to have elevated themselves to the pinnacle of a globally recognized educational system; this on a website that proudly boasts its national origins - Ghanaweb!

Things being as they are, the immediate question that comes to mind is this: Who benefits from the ‘divide and conquer’ agenda? Not Ghana! Who profits when such select few ‘intellectuals’ knowingly and routinely bait the rest of us Ghanaians into tribal war? Not us. The origin, as well as those who consistently apply such political and militant philosophy, is well-known, just as the biblical story of Judas selling Jesus for measly pieces of silver is also quite familiar.

We must counter this strategy effectively – not in any expected, typically Ghanaian manner, no! Rather we must mobilize our computer savvy youth to start a viral petition to/on Ghanaweb requesting amendment to the rules governing conduct in the Opinion section of the web newspaper. We must demand that columnists, writers and commenters be circumspect and respectful of one another for fear of a subsequent banning from the site (as do other sites). Andy, avu koklo for aboa is only taking us from the ‘mud pit’ you spoke of… to hell’s gate and back! In 2014, Our beloved Ghana truly deserves better. Let one love, one heart be our unifying strength!

Therefore, in your essays, please, as you continue to edify us about not-yet-told sobering historical facts, please reign in anger stoked by the unpatriotic and mean spirited.
