What is the point in having almost two deputy ministers for almost every ministry and to add insult to injury a largely bunch of useless communication units who do nothing but spin nonsense and insults every blessed day?
Cut the size of gov't by 40% and Ghana will still make progress. And finally but not the least cut loose the NDC rented press that donothing but feed you with absolutely nothing but garbage.

Lets face it, all these ashawo journalists and media realized after peddling the propaganda and lies of the NDC that the people immediately saw through them and stopped buying their newspapers or listening to their radio stations , so they now offer watered down versions of the truth instead of the cold hard facts . 98% of the people of Ghana have rejected the corrupt moral and perverse ndc govt policies be it so called fight for sodomy and gay right to fake economy discussions . we do not have these pepeni and ayigbe idiots as you have to be worth something or worthy to hate we simply read my lips here totally DESPISE THEM. we despise their corruption , we despise their hatred of the Akan majority , we despise their looting and their daily lies , the list is endless as the rotten through and through. Not so long ago they tell us this is the Action year for the Better Agenda as the continue listen very carefully the murdered mill's agenda . Then they tell us they are only in first gear , now they say with the economic forum not only has the car stopped but they are now shopping around for IDEAS to find petrol to get the car moving again in a direction they don't know ? yes we deeply despise such pepeni ayigbe incompetence and they should know after this period will follow the period of FURY. Just look at the misery and woes they have brought upon our people and still they refuse to LET OUR PEOPLE GO. they are too busy steal the little foreign exchange left that the cedi is plummeting down. they are allies with kuffour and his band of robbers who hijacked the npp for a while and made sure they destroyed the grassroots network of the npp so npp can not truly lead any opposition fight to the end like the Ukrainians did . these foolish ndc dont seem to figure out everytime time they come up with a way to freely spend the tax papers money we see through their lies and propaganda . so after spending a thousand dollars a day per person at this 4 day national economic forum without consensus what do they have to show for it except more lies , propaganda and wishful fantasy thinking . shame on you kuffuor for giving them support , if you can find it in you to care then advise your partners in crime to resign and go away for good

So sad to note that all the gargantuan rot in GYEEDA, SADA and SUBA are grand orchestrated crime syndicated by my own people from the Northern extraction of the geopolitical landscape of Greater Ghana. An introspective cursor of the cunningly selected managerial leadership of the above mentioned agencies, purposely to line the pockets of Aircraft-loved crazy Mahama brothers and some greedy few in the NDC, are all pure breed insatiable ingrates from the North. My concern to pen down this comment is that there is no need to waste anybody's time on this useless economic forum since the root cause of the economic mess in Ghana today is man made, traceable to the doorstep of the incompetent "Ye Rentie Obiara" president, Mahama. What we all need to do is to campaign for a new leader, be it from the disrespectful NDC, new galloping CPP or the ghana's economic Missiah, the NPP. Afoko is my man and all Northerners must help him to succeed.

Kofi Ata, your information on the Chinese loan is wrong! The government does not pay interest on the full loan: only on the disbursed portion. On the undisbursed portion, the government only pays a "commitment fee" of 1percent. I agree though, that the government should refuse to pay that "commitment fee" if the Chinese deliberately slow down disbursements.

The news reports say the forum is taking place in Senchi. If you're travelling from Accra, just before you reach the town or rather village of Senchi before the Adomi Bridge, there's a huge resort centre to the right with conference rooms. Many companies hold seminars and retreats here for their workers. Remember sometimes the Adomi Bridge is called Senchi Bridge. Akosombo may not be far from here but I don't think that's where the forum is taking place. It's rather in Senchi.

I wish there are times Ghana's educated NPP members in the Diaspora will use either their common sense or classroom earned so-called intellectual accolades to be seasoned and reasoned when chiming in on the political foolishness back home in Ghana.
The idea that a late invitation could be a valid reason for not attending an economic forum is a sham of an excuse beneath even a party of saboteurs, the NPP. This excuse presupposes the NPP do not know what ails Ghana's economy or unaware of any problem with Ghana's economy; the NPP is wrong and lying of either count.
The NPP has been telling Ghanaians how bad the NDC has mishandled the economy. Any meeting/forum to discuss Ghana's economic health should be a chance for the NPP claiming to know what the NDC has done or did not do to mess up the economy to educate the voting public and for the NPP not to pretend a late invitation should slow them down as a party or for prevent anyone of their so-called intellectuals from being present to add their two cents to the discussion. This is beneath a party that pride itself on its intellectual capacity; it shows that claim to be hollow.

The real reason NPP is not taking part in this NEF is because they are afraid that whatever ideas they have to revamp the economy, the NDC will do it and they will have nothing to sell to the public and come to power. They are more interested in coming to power than the welfare of the economy and the country.
This is a very shortsighted position. If they have great ideas for the economy which are being implemented two years before the elections, they will find it easier when they happen to win and govern in 2016. They can also use it as a campaign tool saying it is their ideas that are being pursued now and if they are voted into power, there will be more where that came for.
But the problem with the NPP is that, they may be very critical of the present government but their ideas of ameliorating the situation aren't any better. They know that and see it will be better to hide those ideas so that people will think they will work, than to expose the ideas now for people to see that they are not better than what the NDC is doing now. It puts the NPP in a bind. They have no trump card. So they take the easiest way out: boycott.
Our economy, presently, is not doing as well as it could. But the reason is not anything that NPP knows to do which the NDC doesn't know. Both sides have seasoned economists. If it had been an NPP government instead of Mahama, the economy would still be in the same dire straits that it is now.
The NPP's boycott does them no good.

Kofi I am very much surprised that you too have fallen for this ruse of an economic forum. What really do you think will be result such that the NPP would lose voters' goodwill?
It is true that countries that face economic crisis do come together usually to devise solutions that may not be palatable to the electorate. When they decide on this, it is usually a joint effort so that no one makes political capital of the hard decisions that are required. It happened in Greece, Spain, Iceland and Italy. Even in the case of Italy, politicians decided to give way to unelected technocrats.
Having said that, what those countries did was first for the government to admit the crisis situation. Have the Mahama government make this admission? Are those attending the forum aware of the causes of the crisis, even if government will admit? In such a vacuum, what meaningful output will come from the forum. We are awaiting the communique but I assure you that it will not result in any immediate change of course.
Just take a look at the title: "Changing the narrative .....". Is this indicative of a forum to solve a pending problem? They have set out the forum as if we have the luxury to look at the medium and long term. They are totally ignoring the present and clear danger.
The President says the forum is to invite ideas that will find themselves into policies. This does not happen overnight. It will take at least two years to analyse the ideas, transform them into policies, operationalise them towards implementation.
They want to change the narrative alright. Note that we want to change how we have done things. They have succeeded though in changing the narrative - we are talking about the NPP boycott instead of rising inflation, rising debt, rising debt servicing committments, rising expenditure with dwindling income. In as much as this was a talking shop, the NPP was right to boycott. Not receiving any base documents meant this was not a forum to identify immediate solutions.
Good luck to them but nothing will change. Monday next week will be the same as Monday this week.

Kofi Atta, listen and listen well. This is a govt. that consistently defies logic by not extending some appointments to non NDC qualified experts but sourrounded by no experience babies who keep mouthing off about how sound the economy is. They the NCC should come out and admit that there is an economic problem before any one can help with advisement. The NPP is right to boycott this Econ. Forum because the NDC govt. believes all is well. If all is well then why the forum to waste peoples time. All in the days of propagandist NDC lies.
