Lets face it, all these ashawo journalists and media realized after peddling the propaganda and lies of the NDC that the people immediately saw through them and stopped buying their newspapers or listening to their radio stations , so they now offer watered down versions of the truth instead of the cold hard facts . 98% of the people of Ghana have rejected the corrupt moral and perverse ndc govt policies be it so called fight for sodomy and gay right to fake economy discussions . we do not have these pepeni and ayigbe idiots as you have to be worth something or worthy to hate we simply read my lips here totally DESPISE THEM. we despise their corruption , we despise their hatred of the Akan majority , we despise their looting and their daily lies , the list is endless as the rotten through and through. Not so long ago they tell us this is the Action year for the Better Agenda as the continue listen very carefully the murdered mill's agenda . Then they tell us they are only in first gear , now they say with the economic forum not only has the car stopped but they are now shopping around for IDEAS to find petrol to get the car moving again in a direction they don't know ? yes we deeply despise such pepeni ayigbe incompetence and they should know after this period will follow the period of FURY. Just look at the misery and woes they have brought upon our people and still they refuse to LET OUR PEOPLE GO. they are too busy steal the little foreign exchange left that the cedi is plummeting down. they are allies with kuffour and his band of robbers who hijacked the npp for a while and made sure they destroyed the grassroots network of the npp so npp can not truly lead any opposition fight to the end like the Ukrainians did . these foolish ndc dont seem to figure out everytime time they come up with a way to freely spend the tax papers money we see through their lies and propaganda . so after spending a thousand dollars a day per person at this 4 day national economic forum without consensus what do they have to show for it except more lies , propaganda and wishful fantasy thinking . shame on you kuffuor for giving them support , if you can find it in you to care then advise your partners in crime to resign and go away for good

Mr writer, is the forum an election platform where the opposition should be showcasing their policies? How many times have the opposition and the public at large not contributed to the national discourse on resolving the economic mess we currently find ourselves in and how many times have these contributions not been rubbished by the ruling party? Is the forum the only place to listen and gather ideas? Mr writer, would they listen this time? After six years of NDC rule the forum is indeed an acknowledgement from the government that it has lost control of the economy.

I have been restricting myself from commenting on the NPP boycott because I am preparing an article towards that end. I, however, cannot resist commenting on this one since it is written by a Ph.D.
The first question to ask is: what is the purpose of the forum? At a time that the nation is confronted with economic crisis, the forum is proposing to change the narrative - not to change how we have done things but to change how we have talked about how poorly the economy is being handled.
In the face of massive imminent problems, there is a forum to talk about the medium to long-term future! We are behaving as if we have the luxury not to deliberate on solving present problems. If my dear Ph.D has asked himself about the end product of this forum, that is not informed by data, that is based on an agenda drafted by government, he would have seen that nothing better will come out of this. It will simply be a collection of ideas to deceive Ghanaians into thinking that some consensus has been reached.
The gestation period for an idea to be converted into a policy for it to be operationalised for implementation is about two years. By the time that happens, the government would be packing its bags.
No one has to attend a forum to tell a sitting government what to do. They want to change the narrative alright but whose narrative? They have succeeded in some aspects, because they have got you to write about the NPP boycott instead of the wanton corruption that is ongoing.

Thank you Dr. Ohemeng for saying it as it is. Ghana faces serious immediate challenges, talk of "dumso", non-fulfillment of statutory obligations such as payments of District Assembly Common Funds, NHIS, GETFund, MPs Common fund, contractors, salaries of some public servants who have worked for more than 2 years, and many more. Instead of President Mahama and his govt dealing with these issues, they are trying to rope in the NPP to share in their failures.
I am not an economist but I know deep down that corruption and lack of fiscal discipline as we have witness in this Mahama administration will cripple any economy. This forum is just a PR gimmick to say the least. There will not be a single proposition that had not already been advanced before.

Kojo T, you amaze me with your unflinching support for NDC,even when their stupidity stinks to the heavens. I must admit that any and every political party would kill to have your kind of pure, unadulterated, foolhardy support. What a waste of intellect!!
You've made a point that if NPP had been in power there would be no VRA. Did NPP dissolve or sell VRA when they were in power some mere 6 years ago? Were there rampant "dumsor dumsor" when NPP was in power, even when there was no Bui Dam? Of course you cannot answer in the affirmative because there was nothing like the crass stupidity your party is displaying now. Anyway, why should NPP participate in this forum when your own finance minister has intimated that whatever will be said there will not lead to a course-correction in what the government is already doing. You think people have the luxury of time to go and waste on such an NDC buffoonery, comically dubbed National Economic Forum?
Also, what makes you think Ghanaians don't know who is behind the market fires? If the government thinks it can pull a wool over our eyes like it has done on yours, they lie "bad." At the appropriate time, the truth will emerge like a cork, and the evils of this government and that of your idol, Dzimakpla Rawlings, will be exposed and punished with righteous vernom. Mark my words. Avuu koklo!!

"When you play propaganda with your economy, your exchange rate will expose you" Dr Mahamadu Bawumiah
Guess what happened afterwards. School boys like Fiifi Kwartey insulted him and said, Dr. Bawumia knows nothing about Economics. They immediately told us that they will have their own economic forum for Dr. Nii Moi Thompson to rebut what Dr Bawumia said
So this NDC Economic Forum ( I chose not to use National because there is nothing national about it) was initiated because of the lectures Dr Bawumia gave at University Central.
And instead of these people taking drastic action to arrest the situation acutely before planning for their 20- 30 action, they wasted money, time and resources for this expensive forum.
Why should NPP attend the forum? Would NDC listen to anything NPP would have raised in contrary to their views? Has NDC not all the time insulted NPP when they criticize the government or make a decision.
Finally, the write ...
