It is interesting to read your analysis of Islam's "true" nature. I must admit that in recent times I have been forced to read more verses of the Koran than I would otherwise. This however was in a bid to understand what accounts for the numerous variants of Islam or islamic living I'm exposed to. The title, religion of peace, as depicted by the accounts of Mohammed's dealings with his kin in Mecca, unfortunately fails to hold in view of the happenings of today. In population centres where Islam is observed by the majority, it is interesting to note that peace, mercy, magnanimity, tranquility and justice are foreign concepts. This is even more so for non-Muslim members of such communities. As has become the fashion of the day, could we attribute this to misunderstanding of your holy texts, which I believe are amongst the most faithfully translated in word and context in the world? To what do we owe the confusion? In your submission, you point numerous times to freedom of religion and how much the free will of the individual is appreciated in Islam. This is even to the extent that should the Muslim kill one man it is equated to the killing of all mankind. I do hope we would not be drawn to estimate how many times over the human race has been killed my people whom to their last breaths professed Islam as the only true faith. Mohammed, I must say was tactful. In developing a religion that flew in the face of almost all major world views at the time, he adopted the one sure way of rallying people to his side. This way has been adopted by many icons of our day including Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Ghandi. He was largely successful hence we can have a debate today on the practice of Islam around the world. However, for all his morals and rectitude, it is unfortunate that may of his sayings have been used to persecute so many. I do not speak to matters of history but to events unfolding before our eyes: abductions, televised beheading, suicide bombing, gross infringement on the rights of the non-Muslim and subjugation of women. Today a pregnant woman in Sudan stands sentenced to death because she calls herself Christian, her marriage considered an act of adultery and her right to raise her 20 month old son in a safe environment replaced with the opportunity to raise him in a prison cell. I'd rather not address apostasy vis a vis there being no compulsion in religion or the legal and philosphical minefield referred to as Sharia (GhanaWeb probably won't have all the space needed to deliberate these). I would however enquire how you imagine your life would be if New York (your home I believe) instituted anti-Islamic laws as draconian as Saudi Arabia has for non-Muslims.
I can not end this piece without acknowledging the contribution of various humans who believed in Islam to the advancement of our society. To facilitate their worship, they refined astronomy, to engage their creativity and astute minds in a religion that prohibited depictions they excelled at architecture, maths and numerous sciences. Just as I can not help but celebrate their works, I can not help but view these in the same light an engineer looks on a U-boat, V-2 bomb, the Fat Man or Little Boy: as wonderful feats in themselves which when used by amoral and opinionated folk only served as doorways to a darker future. Let us note that Mohammed did rise when a Jew's corpse was carried past and asked "Is he not human?".

From India to Kenya, Pakistan to the Philippines, Sudan to Mali, even in countries where Muslims are in the Minority, Muslims are wreaking carnage and death on innocent citizens in the name of Allah and Islam. Through Al Qaeda, Al Shabab, Boko Haram, and a myriad of Islamic fundamentalist groups around the world, Muslims have killed hundreds of thousands of very innocent people and maimed millions more, all in the name and in the cause of Allah and Islam. why is it that all across the world, Muslims alone are up in arms against people of every other religion? Is there any country enjoying peace where there are Muslims and people of other faiths sharing the same country? Since Mohammad's day, Muslims have been using the sword and various forms of intimidation to force people to worship their Allah! Which God would want people to worship him by force? Why can't Allah behave like the Christian God, who says that vengeance is His alone, and only He, on the day of judgment will decide which human beings deserve to be punished in hell or rewarded in heaven? Why has Allah left judgment and punishment in the hands of Muslims? In Islam, it is a crime punishable by death to abandon the faith. Why? There is a pregnant woman who has been sentenced to death in Sudan for the crime of marrying a Christian. Meanwhile, this woman's mother is a Christian and when her Muslim father married her Christian mother, the Islamic clerics in Sudan found nothing wrong with it. Why must a person die for saying I no longer want to be a Muslim? What if Christians and Hindus and Jews also start killing people who abandoned their various faiths? what logic is that? Since Mohammad's day, what single thing has Islam or Muslims done to bring peace to the world? The problem with Islam is that, whilst the Koran urges Muslims to kill and and main non-Muslims, it also speaks with a double tongue in many places. The Koran says there is no compulsion in religion, yet the same Koran says that if anyone refuses the Islamic religion, it shall not be accepted of them and they must be killed. The Koran enjoins Muslims to ask the Jews and Christians (the people of the Book) for the religious things they do not understand, yet urges Muslims not to be friends with the same Christians and Jews, and to kill them wherever they find them. Many Muslims know in their hearts that the Koran contradicts itself in some many places, yet they are afraid to speak out because whoever criticizes anything about Islam the slight gets death threats. Let Muslims tell the world ONE SINGLE THING Islam has done to bring peace to the world. But anyone in the world today can give you one millions things that Islam's followers have done to take the peace away from the world and bring death and destruction and havoc on the whole world. THE ONUS IS ON MUSLIMS TO CONVINCE THE WORLD THAT ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF PEACE. OTHERWISE, THEY SHOULD STOP DECEIVING THEMSELVES!

The writer of the article should not be taken seriously because the peaceful verses he quoted were the earlier revelations that were given to Mohammed when his followers were only 130 Mecca. When he won more followers in Medina in their tens of thousands and therefore could form a strong army to wage war, those peaceful verses were replaced with the violent and intolerant ones. Every student of Islam is taught that the previous revelations(unfortunately the peaceful ones) have been abrogated by the latest(violent) ones. If the author is right, he and other muslims should devote the same amount of time and space to attacking the muslim countries for their oppression of Christians and Jews' and persecution and killing of muslim converts to Christianity. They should also call for Isamic countries allow Christians to preach openly and spread their religion the same way muslims are allowed to do in non muslim countries.
-Muslims are permitted to use deception to make Islam look nice and appealing to the non muslim so as to convert him into Islam. This in their theology is known as taqqiya and that is what the writer is doing.

Islamic scholars always resort to cherry-picking agenda to defend violence in Islam.These scholars quote the positive portions of the Qur'an and Hadiths to deceive the world. They always close their eyes on the Satanic Verses found in those same unHoly books. Speaking as an oracle of Allah, Prophet Mohammed commanded that all those who oppose his teachings be killed or they should be nailed on a tree or their hands and legs be cut off or they be driven out of the land(Sura5:36). The question then is which teaching is the prophet talking about? Mohammed or Allah( or whoever is speaking) says: ' O ye who believe! Take not the Jews or Christians as friends. They are but friends to one another, and he amongst you who takes them(as friends) then surely he is one of them. Verily Allah guides not the unjust people( Sura 5:51). The Qur'an also quotes Allah as saying that violence against non-Muslims is in fact, not just a religious duty but a profitable commerce, business!(Sura 61:10-12). In the Hadiths, Mishkat Masabith, violence against non-Muslims is said to be: "...the best method of earning blessings) both spiritual and temporal. If victory is won, there is enormous booty of a people, which cannot be equaled to any source of income. If there is defeat or death, there is everlasting paradise." The question then is : Who is this Allah?

I don't see any commitment from you muslims to physically intervene in some of these situations. See what is happening in Somailia, Mali Philippines etc. Verbal attack and counter-attack will not help.

Quran (4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…"
Quran (2:191-193) "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief] is worse than killing... but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)"
Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

Quran (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"
Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.
Quran (8:15) - "O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey's end."

Quran (8:65) - "O Prophet, exhort the believers to fight..."
Quran (9:5) - "So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them."
Quran (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"
Quran (9:38-39) - "O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place."
That makes the religion very contradictory. It is a choose and take ideology. Those with testosterone pick the hateful verses and practice and those mature ones pick the peaceful verses.
That are the contradictions the Quran posses. Unfortunately this confusion is going to be with us till Christ comes to destroy the whole Islamic religion and all the Satanic influences and revelations that Satan has intelligently crafted to deceive many including Mohammed himself who was not sure where the revelation came from.

A Sudanese lady is to be put to death because of her conversion(See BBC NEWS, AFRICA). Is this not terrorizing? Why is that in Saudi Arabia, it is even forbidden for believers in Christ to Fellowship?
Remember, however, that those who are persecuting the followers of Christ, are touching the eyeballs of God, and the angels are constantly beholding the presence of God, as to WHEN HE will exercise judgement. God is long suffering, and mankind has been given every inch of opportunity to come to the Salvation knowledge of God(possibly ONLY THRU CHRIST)
It is an indisputable fact that God has given us Life and that Life is in Christ, the Son of the living God. The living God is the covenant God of Israel, a nation through whom the Messiah was to come,as prophesied by the Jewish prophets, starting from Moses.
The Son ship of Jesus is unquestionable. It is not something that Christians even have to think it over to, let alone consider it, because the covenant God of Israel proclaimed it at the Baptism of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Also during the transfiguration of Jesus Christ, God spoke saying "This is my Son, LISTEN TO HIM."

If after 600 years, someone else has come to present to you a Jesus different from whom the apostles and the 1st century believers received, then you are to advise yourself. accordingly.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you have breadth of Life in you, it is a great opportunity to ask the Lord Jesus to come into your Life, and get baptized.
We have no excuse, at all, on that day when we have to give account, because this our generation has connection to every media to investigate Truth(Internet info., preaching and satellite TV programs)
But who really, is Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ, during his Ministry, ascribed the writings of the OT to himself. He told the Jews, "Ye search the Scriptures, but all these are about me". He affirmed this Truth, after his resurrection, that all the writing of Moses, the Psalms and the Prophets had come to pass(fulfilled in him).
In summary, the OT contain the promises of God, and these promises have become Ye and Amen, in Christ Jesus. Christ is the Truth who came to reveal to us that the promises, are indeed the prophesies about HIMSELF, and HE has indeed come to fulfill them.
Infact, the Bible says what inspires prophesying is to the bearing witness to Christ Jesus. In other words, if there be any prophecy at any time as written by the Prophets, then those Prophesies were orchestrated by the inspiration to bear witness to Christ Jesus.
Jesus said of John the Baptist that "Of all those born of women, none is grater than John the Baptist". Yet John the Baptist says, he is not even qualified to attend to the sandals of Jesus Christ-what a humble spirit!
It is so funny that, in one of your quotations, Jesus Christ is ranked 3rd(after Isaac Newton). Even Isaac Newton will rise up in judgement to condemn that source of reference, because Sir Isaac Newton himself, once said, "if you reject the book of Daniel, you are rejecting Christ, because everything in the book of Daniel is about Christ"
God, the Father in his own wisdom has glorified the Son in such a way that you cannot talk about HIM(God) without talking about the Son. Infact the Son had his Glory alongside the Father before the world. And Christ was and is glorified again alongside the Father, after his ascension. This is in harmony with what Jesus said that "Men may honour me, even, as they honour the Father, whoever does not honour the Son, does not honour the Father who sent him".
All creation came into existence through Christ, think of it! Christ is the WISDOM of God, He is the power of God. When a person has known Christ, he has automatically known God. There is no way a person can claim to know God, otherwise.
Paul told the Jews that Christ has come that they may know God better. As for we the gentiles we did not know God, at all. We were all idol worshipers. Read the whole of John 17. Jesus prayed to the Father, "the world do not know YOU, and I have come in your NAME that they may know YOU".
Please, take time and sincerely read the NT, and humble yourself and Christ would definitely visit you!
Act now, for the days are evil. Remember, baptism by immersion!
Look for a living Church, and a Fellowship where you can gradually build yourself up spiritually(Bible Studies and Prayers) in the Truth.
