Can you argue or debate without insults? This attitude of insults by most Ghanaians portrays us in a bad light. What made you think you are right and that Kwarteng should write according to your thinking and convictions? A fool is rather the one who abuses others for no apparent reasons. If you think Kwarteng is wrong anywhere in the write-up, prove him otherwise with your critical thinking. I urge Brother Kwarteng not to respond to comments of this kind. The attitudes of some these people are that they don't understand or cannot do what you doing and therefore no one else should understand or do what you're doing. Their attitudes has nothing to do with a disagreement to what you write per se but a sheer ignorance of how you write and what you discuss.

Hello Kosovo & Others,
Good day to you all.
Kosovo, my good brother, this is not particularly for you.
But let's share it together, anyway. I have been following all the comments but it's not everyone I usually respond to.
I have had time to follow some of the commentators here on other Ghanaweb platforms. These are individuals who are always telling me to write about Africans and Asians and Whites getting together as if I had ever written to the contrary.
These commentators are always on the side of those ethnocentric Ghanaweb writers who are always insulting, maligning, and denigrating Gas, Gonjas, Ewes, Mamprusis, etc., and yet whenever they see my articles they tell me to tell Africans to unite with Asians and Whites.
Follow their comments on Ghanaweb. I do this all the time. Again, these are commentators who will go all the way to make arguments telling the leadership of the NPP not to join hands with the NDC when the issue at stake affects all of us.
They will also complain bitterly about Chinese Galamsey but their relatives will secretly be working with Chinese Galamseys in their villages.
These are the ideological or familial descendants of the National Liberation Movement whose relatives like KA Busia and JB Danquah and others work to thwart the unification project which Kwame Nkrumah tried to introduce into Ghana and Africa.
The sad part is that some of these readers have not taken time to have a clear understanding of Asian history and sociology, which would have sufficiently informed them that, unlike Africans, Asians and Whites, generally, do look out for themselves first rather than for others. Africans have still not learned to protect our strategic interests like Asians and Whites.
I have sat in a White-American professor's who criticized Asian societies for being anti-White. She said Asians were inward-looking and always looked out for their kind.
As if the white world was any different. I have never preached anti-White or anti-Asian in any of my writings.
All I have said is to look out for our own, protect our interests, use our resources to help our peoples out of poverty, rather than allowing foreigners to benefit from them at our expense.
Look at how Asian and Western economies make laws to protect their strategic interest and look at those of Africa's.
I have taken my time all throughout the years to study some of the best Asian thinkers to know that we do not think like them in terms of protecting those of our interests which should benefit the masses of our people.
The other major issue is the lack of critical thinking in our educational systems. Many readers are more likely to resort to ethnic, familial, political partisanship sentiments than to critical thinking/facts in arguments. I am surprised to see some readers making claims I never implicitly or excplicity said in this essay.
I sometimes wonder if they are not imposing an article they had read somewhere on this one. In fact, most of the issues I raised in "Stop Mourning The Ghost of A Dead Empire" had nothing specificaly to do with any empire.
I wanted to use the series to show that there is a continuum between the bad decisions our foebears made with regard to foreigners and those our leaders are making now.
I used the issue of our involvement in slavery, colonialism, etc., and EPA, Judgment Debts, etc., to make my case. I even used Ayi Kwei Armah's novel "Two Thousand Seasons" to show that connection, yet soe readers read their specific ancient hstory into them. How unfortunate!
Some even even thought the symbolism of a set of my characters' pimping their mothers, sisters, wives, etc., and stealing cars and shipping them off to The Empire of Hollow Emptiness, and getting involved in 419 had to do with a specific ethnic group.
I was merely making references to "BRAIN DRAIN" and the sort of "shameful" jobs our educated men and women travel outside to do. It is sad some readers thought I was referring to a specific ethnic group.
Back to Mr. Figure-Out and others, I will only say you cannot extend help to any one when you have the same problems in your house. This is what Asians and Westerners have successfully done. Again, this is why I quoted Fela Kuti's song "Mr. Follow Follow."
Let me cite a good example: Boko Haram is threatening and killing innocent people and directly and underming foreign investments in Nigerian and indirectly in Africa.
Yet ECOWAS or AU cannot come together to address this issue. African leaders have to wait for the West to tel them what to do, the same West whcih sells complicated arms to the outside some of which have landed in the teriitory of Boko Haram; the same West whose ideas (Islam is a Western Religion; Western scholars and historians say this) Boko Haram, Ansaru, and the Lord's Resistance Army, etc., are using to terrorize people!
Who created the Taliban and AL-Qaeda, two groups from whom Boko Haram, Ansaru, Al-Shabab take inspiration? Of course, the picture is larger---economic, political, moral, etc., might be part of the grievances of Boko Haram, but what if ECOWAS and the AU have teamed up to address this issue? This is what I have been saying all along, that we Africans need to get our acts together! Any group of people have successfully done this.
You cannot embrace others when your own people are destroying you. Again, the case of the NLM is a very good example. Nkrumah tried to build a nuclear reactor to help in Ghana's and Africa's advancement, yet the ideological descendants of the NLM overthrew Nkrumah and gave the nuclear reactor's blueprint to the West.
Today look at how the Chinese, Japanese, etc., have all made it big with nuclear technology psoitively contributing to their industrial growth. Look where Ghana is now! We even ration electricity. How much do we think if this nuclear technology had been successful in Ghana! Foreign investors come to Ghana and there is no electricity! Yet when I ask Africans to look out for themselves first, these same readers say we should embrace the West and Asia, this, when their fathers and mothers team up with these same people to destroy Africa.
All we Africans do is to follow others without the benefit of strategic thinking. I know these readers do not have any clue why I chose Fela Kuti's song, because every word I put in my essay has social, political, philosophical, or ideological significance. I know from reading the comments that such readers do not get beyond the characters. The issues I raise have much depth than the irrelevancies they are discussing here.
I have said my own. In any case, Kosovo, I don't stress myself over these readers. I am used to Ghanaweb now. On the other hand, if these readers know how stubborn I am, I assure, Kovoso, they will not bother frustratng themselves!
All errors are mine.
Thanks.

Brother, who're your target audience? It appears you write to entertain yourself and you only.
You have great talent but I'm afraid you're misdirecting your abundant energy and talent at the wrong source. Your writing style will also earn you more enemies than friends and converts because the afro-centric phenomenom you're propagating is perceived as too extreme for a world that's turning into a global village at a frightening pace. We're Africans but we're also members of the larger human family. Instead of promoting isolationism, sectionalism and segregation let's unite to remove all the human barriers.that divide us. We don't need any more divisions than we already have. By the way the name Francis is not afro-centric by any stretch of imagination. Afro centrism is definitely not the solution to Africa's under-development.

Hello,
Nothing about Afrocentricity is mentioned here.
This is a simple philosophical treatise about life.
You come here to read all the time but when we ask you simple questions, Mensah Abrampa, about your grasp of the content of you an essay you always vanish.
Let me assure you of one thing: A writer should not tell his readers that 1 + 1 = 2.
1 + 1 can also be 11 and 1. It is the duty of a discerning reader to figure that out.
That is the essence of writing. I know simple political satire is a major problem for some of you readers.
A distinguished Ghanaian poet- and prose-writer, a staunch reader of my work on Ghanaweb and on other website, has even advised me to change the style since she some readers' comments clearly tell her those readers are not familiar with the style.
Your case is clinical example of those who misread. There is nothing here about Afrocentricity and here you are reading Afrocentricity into it. This is why you always disappear when I try to quiz you on my written material!
Let me repeat: This piece has nothing to do with Afrocentricity. It has everything to do with what most Ghanaweb columnists write about everyday which I will not have to re-tell in any explanatory simplicity. That is not my job as a writer. Readers have to undertake that explanatory journey themselves.
Part 2 is coming. And remember that I don't write only for Ghanaweb. You can find sophisticated readers everywhere. Don't take this as an insult but as an advice.
Go back and read again! You might get part of the story. That is what good and discerning readers do. Again, this is an advice. Please don't take it as an insult!
Thanks.

Yes we must all unite, Accepted! Black, White, yellow we must all unite. I accept this view and so is kwarteng as I figure it out from his numerous writings on this platform. He is only pointing to the fact that such equality and harmony could only be achieved if we take our destiny in our hands to improve our socio-economic conditions to redeem our image. This is Afrocentrism. If Afrocentrism would not solve our problems then I don't know what would. Sitting down idle to accept what others think of us and to accept what to do has helped either.

The Ghost of the 'Dead Empire', the Porcupine Warriors, will, alas, know some rest in their imaginary tomb of eternity. May this, wishfully, symbolizes the rebirth or the resurrection of Nkrumah to rekindle the moribund CPP and subsequently dwarf the presence of the Trokosi leaning NDC in our political lives forever and ever.
