Hello Gilbert,
Your story brought back a lot of memories and as I'm writing this, I have this warm feeling in me taking me back to my days at TECH.
'Ponding' was a lot of fun. Hallmates just grabbing you when you least expected it and dumping you in the pond had no feeling like any other. It established a feeling of being part of something unique. It was really a unique tradition. I was at INDECE( Independence Hall) and I got ponded about 4 times(with no injury) in my years there.
Those were the carefree years! Oh God... studying and having fun at the same time..it made the tough courses we were taking get a bit easier just breaking the monotony of studying.
So if the story about PV and ponding is true, then I doff off my hat to him as fellow Alumni because I can relate to the story.
What I can't relate to though, is his time in politics because by my own calculation, he would have been in government and politics close to 36 years!!!!
36 YEARS!!!!!And what can Ghana show for them?
He's being touted as an illustrous son of Ghana which could be true but my question still remains the same.
What did he actually do for Ghana for 36 years?
* The economy as we all see it now is nothing to write home about.
* Our healthcare system is a complete failure and it played a part in PV's demise.
* Our educational system is in shambles
* Our roads and highways are death traps
* Our manufacturing industries are non existent.
* Our energy sector is a disgrace.
I can go on ticking them off one by one but I think you get my drift.
So you tell me why you think Ghana lost a great and brilliant son if he was part of the political landscape of Ghana for 36 YEARS and all Ghana can show off are these truncated list of failures.
I think people are just making him out to be somebody he was not. The evidence is staring you right in the face and yet you choose to ignore it.
Let's learn to call a spade a spade a spade and Ghana will be better off in a lot ways.
We heap accolades on people who don't deserve them just for polical reasons.
In my view, PV was a total failure and a fraudster just like all his cohorts who have put Ghana on a path that will eventually lead to the destruction of the nation.
Ghana has been abused and looted from by these selfish individuals who call themselves politicians. And PV was part of the political elitism for 36 years so he's no better than the armed robber and the crooks we ecounter in the streets. The only difference is that he and his cohorts wear suits and use the pen as their weapon whilst the armed robber uses a gun. In the final analysis both groups steal something that does not belong to them.
So they are all thieves. Period.
