HAD IT BEEN PLANNED AND IF SO WHAT IS THE SUPPORTING BASIS FOR THE SELECTION? MY POINT IS, THAT WE ARE NOT PLANNING FOR THE LONG TERM BUT CHOOSE OUR PROJECTS ON POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY. DO WE HAVE THE STAFF GOING ROUND THE COUNTRY COLLECTING DATAE TO HELP THE GOVERNMENT TO DETERMINE ROADS THAT NEED TO BE BUILT DUE TO LAID DOWN TECHNOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES TO BASE UPON? DO WE HAVE ROAD COUNTS OR CENSUS? TAKE OUR MAINTENANCE OF STATE PROPERTIES, WE WAIT AND WAIT UNTIL IT IS COLLAPSING AND THEN WE RUSH TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM DO WE HAVE THREE, FOUR OR FIVE YEAR PLANS TO HELP IN PRIORITIZING OUR EXPENDITURES? PLANNING, MAY BE SHORT OR LONG TERM BUT WE NEED ONE AT ALL TIMES. WE START COLLECTING THE DATAE TODAY TO HELP THE IMPLEMENTATION TOMORROW. IT WILL GIVE US THE GUIDELINES IN DETERMINING BOTH THE QUANTITY, THE QUALITY AND OF COURSE THE COST IN ADVANCE.

As long as we tap into the resources of both the diaspora and home i am confident there is no problem we cant fix or sustainable solution we can not implement to give our people a better standard and future . Omanhene kwasea pepeni Mahama in his small-mindedness, tribalism saturated with mistrust and hate for the Akans fueled by the ayigbe treachery has appointed incompetent fools who would collapse any economy be it the USA , Germany , Japan or Canada . In fact the caliber of his favorites are so weak i doubt they could manage even a roadside chop bar for week successfully talk less an economy of 25 million strong. NDC's experiment with leadership from the north will cost them dearly as Ghanians will never again trust a northerner no matter which party fields them and they will be lucky if the party doesnt totally disintegrate into nothingness . The basic principle of democracy is to enable the active participation of the majority thus tapping into the potentials of the majority and secures the unity and progress of the people , pepeni has deviously managed to sideline the influence of the Akans and the majority of all Ghanians so is in effect and illegitimate govt that's only focused on robbing and stealing , to hell with everything else as he simply doesn't care about what he knows doesn't belong to him . He is a traitor and no indemnity clause should save him from his reckless selfishness and corruption but should be made to answer and be punished adequately either through the courts or lynching him in the streets. yes its time for a bloody uprising or war to rid us of this menace forever . His ministers are not only stupid but retarded so must also be hung from the highest tree tops for not resigning when they knew they could not perform or had no plans . Their families and children should also be bdeaten up for enjoying while the rest of the nation suffered . We all know that there is no way pepeni will see the end of his mandate without a serious conflict or peacefully talk less of even attempting a de facto third term. one thing we now all know is that the ayigbe and pepefuo have a set of values and mindset which is incompatible with the rest of us and its a mistake to remain in the same country with them so we should split the country either peacefully through negotiations or with a war whichever comes first .

Being Pres Mahama`s second set of ears on the ground in the sector,I find it hard to believe Jinapor has not been able to provide JDM with the information to shield him from all this political embarassment and ridicule.

  Look, hold your government (NDC) solely responsible for this power crisis. Remember what NDC before coming to power. They said that quote "If NDC wins, power outages will be a thing of the past because there are too many options open for them to generate power unlike their predecessor NPP". Unquote. This statement came from Haruna Iddrisu now the Trade Minister. What are we seeing today? Lies, lies and lies is what NDC can do best.
  
  Even the president himself lied about this power crisis because he said that the outages will be gone before last year April and we are now in May 2014. What conspiracy are you talking about? I hope you will not put NPP in the middle of this "conspiracy" because anytime this reckless government finds itself wanting, they blame on one but NPP.
  
  NDC has no clue about the job given to them and that is why everything is in reverse.

  For once, government must abandon the business of imposing import duties on commodities that would aid the citizenry to fend for themselves by producing their own power; it may turn out to be a huge plus for the authorities - when pressure eases on Dumsor, Dumor, as most people would have their own solar lamps, batteries and inverters, etc.
  Just imagine if every Kofi and Ama, who could afford it, were allowed the option to import solar, wind and other alternative energy systems into the country - free of customs duties - to solve our ongoing Dumsor, Dumsor problem. I bet that many Ghanaians, and certainly most in the diaspora would rush to send down systems to incorporate in their homes, or help their relatives to acquire the systems. Solar, wind and other alternative small-scale power systems would then mushroom like we now find mobile phones everywhere in Ghana, and we would rid ourselves of this Dumsor, Dumsor headache. ECG would then be free to cater mainly for heavy industry and the like. Let's pressure government to remove all import duties on solar, wind and supplementary equipment!!! Government cannot be distributing token solar lamps to all and sundry, like it did to some few farmers and villagers recently. How about the teeming masses in the cities and other urban centres and their small businesses?
  Are our policy-makers in the energy sector sleeping on the job? Even cold and dark Germany is leading the way!!!

  The NDC has been in power for six years and they have taken ad hoc measures to to dealing with the energy crisis in Ghana. They were aware that the natural gas from the new oil field was 100% for Ghana. They were also aware that gas could substantially improve the supply of energy in Ghana as well as reduce the cost. Despite these facts, the NDC government took over two years to decide which company and country should build the gas infrastructure development project. There were three factions each wanting different provider from China, India and Trinidad & Tobago to undertake the project. In the end China was the preferred provider. They then blamed Nigeria for not supplying enough gas to Ghana. What was tragedy or irony? Six years in office and still unable to complete the project.
  
  The NDC government should have made the gas infrastructure project their topmost priority because without regular supply of affordable energy, Ghana's economy could not improve because without regular power factories/producers, suppliers and all other service providers cannot function effectively. That is exactly what is happening today. Taxes are low because production is low due to lack of regular power supply. Without power, even water supplies could also be affected. Power and water are the two most important fuel for any economy.
  
  Everyday, the government promises a new date for completing the gas processing factory. If Ghana had 10% of the natural gas, the larger shareholder (a foreign company) would have completed the gas processing factory in less than two years. It's sad but that is the reality, Ghanaians cannot manage their own affairs effectively. How long did it take the foreign partners led by Tullow in the Jubilee Oilfield to turn discovery into production compared to what is happening to the gas? Yes, Ghana had to go and borrow the money from China but why Ghana had to choose China and not Trinidad and Tobago with rich experience in the gas industry?
  
  The other problem in addition to power production is distribution. The distribution system is too old and because of Ghana's lack of maintenance culture the distribution system is incapable of distributing the current power demand. A lot of power is lost through the distribution system. So without a holistic approach to the problem of supply and distribution the power crisis will continue for some time.
  
  It's not about conspiracy but lack of foresight and strategic planning by the current crop of incompetent and corrupt leaders.

  Pres. Mahama shld have a special asst. in all these organisstions in the supply and distribution of electricity to check on any fishy deal there and we are sure to discover the anansis.
