If the water is not clear enough for the sun to shine through, then put a small bag with crushed MORINGA-tree-seeds inside for about 1 hour - the dirt will sink to the ground.
But, I'm sorry I have to say, that many Ghanaians still have to learn to use soap to wash their hands regularly, and to wash their dishes and cooking utensils correctly.
To only use the left hand after the toilet is not enough.
Many won't even wash their hands and Waduro before pounding fufuo.
Many learn about "bacteria" etc. in school, but don't believe it or don't put their knowledge to practice.
If vomiting / diarrhoea have started, then ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) is of paramount importance - that is, drinking several litres of water with salt and sugar per day. Even better is drinking as much as possible sugar-kenkey with charcoal-powder and salt is also possible (asikyere dokono + hwire + bide3 + nkyine).
