Asamoah Gyamfi, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team has taken a swipe at the Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central region, describing him as a“liability to the party”.

According to him, the unguarded utterances of Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong contributed to the NPP’s defeat in the last general elections.

“..Ken Agyapong’s call on Ashantis to kill Ewes cost us 2% of our total votes in the last general elections. This makes him a liability to us, than an asset,” he said.

Though the Assin Central MP is believed to have single-handedly bankrolled the NPP 2012 campaign, Asamoah Gyamfi questioned the sense in doling out money to the party with the aim of helping to achieve a set target, only to be derailed by unguarded statements.

“…If you give us Ghc10m and you go on to make us lose through your comments, then you should keep you money,” he fumed in the studios of NEAT FM.

Mr. Gyamfi made this assertion during a panel discussion on the recent happenings in the NPP and also the threat by Hon. Ken Agyapong to cross carpet to the NPP’s bitterest opponent if nothing is done to restore the party’s image.

“I would use all my resources to support the NDC and those with selfish interests can run the party the way they like. The Ashantis can decide to keep the party and make it their property,” the outspoken MP is quoted to have said.

But the NPP Communicator believes his comments always go to dent the image of the party he claims to love and that makes him a liability.

There is no amount of lies or fabricated stories anyone can give in testimony against Nana Akufo-Addo that would hold water or sway with voters against Nana Akufo-Addo; his record should bear him out or stand on their own. Look here Daniel, Nana Akufo-Addo and his supporters alike proudly talk about his years of serving Ghana in the civil service arena and they should be proud to list all those accomplishments over the years of supposed wisdom he brought to bear in any administration and or capacity. But as the saying goes, that story or record can be a two-edged sword. For as Nana Akufo-Addo and others talk about his years in civil service for good, there are a whole host of the not so good issues of character flaws and sub-par work product that may show his lack of wisdom and particularly lack of love for Ghana in my book.
Yes Nana Akufo-Addo has done a lot as many who spend their entire adult career in civil service to Ghana always do but there is one that supersede all else. Nana Akufo-Addo sat silence with all the knowledge of a private lawyer and former Minister of Justice of Ghana even as ex-president Kufour gave lands of the nation away to NPP party members, cronies and vagabonds of the Kufour administration even as Nana Akufo-Addo refused to accept such an offer. A principled person or a principled Nana Akufo-Addo with love of or for country is damned to say he did not accept that opportunity because he knew it to be a conflict of interest if not criminal for ex-president Kufour to do so but stay silent as Ghana is "screwed" by its own outgoing president. To me this is the mark of who Nana Akufo-Addo is and all about. Tribe, political party, friendships and acquaintances take priority over nation and his administration would be no different from administrations of past governments. The test for love of country is first and foremost in my book and nothing else matter. For the love of the Christian God or the Muslin Allah is the kind of love that would not let you hurt those you claim to love and the love of Ghana will not and should not allow anyone to stay silent or look the other way as others destroy mother Ghana if indeed you love it to want to be its president. For this reason, Nana Akufo-Addo is no different from any other thief that has occupied the office of the presidency in Ghana. To change leaders for the sake of change is to trade a thief with another thief and that is not Christian principle.
