1. When you say, "Nkrumah did in fact acknowledge the pioneering role others had played in the liberation struggles, yet his “singular” role in freeing the Gold Coast in particular and Africa in general from the prehensile grip of colonialism remains unquestionable," exactly what do you mean? Dialectically explain this "freedom" in the context of Nkrumah's abrogation of due process, his incarceration of his opponents, his banning of books, his declaration of life presidency, and his usurpation of the sacred powers of the judiciary.
It is a small concession that you are now obliquely acknowledging "the pioneering role others had played in the liberation struggles".
This may not augur well with your mentor and my teacher Asamoah-Botwe who prefers to believe that Nkrumah solely achieved "independence" for Ghana....
Still, I will like to ask you and the Nkrumahist necromancers this question, "What freedom/independence did Nkrumah bring to Ghana in the face of his brutal dictatorship?

Technically, these questions are no different from Albert Einstein's role in the formulation of both "special relativity" and "general theory of relativity" or Jesus Christ's role in God's salvation plan for man (given John the Baptist and the Old Testament prophets).

Of course your questions are more than adequately answered in the essay. Don't you think they do not require further elaborate answering here, Brother SAS. I mean no disrespect, for you know me too well.

On the other hand, part of responses you expect from me impied in Part 3 of this series where, among other things, I mentioned the history of knowldge, history of philosophy, history of science, history of knowledgde, etc.

In other words, such theories/concepts attempt to explain why the intellectual legacies of Albert Einstein or Cheikh Anta Diop, for instance, stand out in a crowded field.

Or why Mark Zuckerber's Facebook won the day when the Facebook concept was developed on American university campuses simultaneously as Zuckerberg's (See Ben Mezrich's controversial book "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal").

What is more, Dr. Kwame Bostwe-Asamoah has impied the expectant INTRICATE answers in his various writings if you had closely read his academic work and essays.

Having said that, I employed the word "singular" parenthentically to demonstrate Nkrumah's unparalleled tireless effarts at actualizing the de-colonization of Ghana and of Africa, this, against the backdrop of failed, effiminate nationalist projects birthed in Africa before him.

Arguably, aside that, we may even push the chronology of the "nationalist" project back in time, to accomodate active rebeliions during slavery (Arab/Islam-Christian), etc.

This goes back to an undebatable concession, that Nkrumah deserves the credit for Ghana's independence as well as for making the UGCC what it was and eventually became, recalling that the UGCC was merely an instutitional cemetary without Nkrumah's superb intellectual presence and organizational adroitness.

This is the indubitable evidence of history, not Dr. Kwame Botwe-Asamoah's concoctions. Fortunately, Dr. Kwame Botwe-Asamoah makes those claims palpably clear in his three-part essay as well. See the following:

1) Lang T.K.A. Nubour

"On the Question of Who Founded Ghana: Constructing and Executing the Strategy for the Attainment of Sovereign Nation-Statehood."

2) Kwame Botwe-Asamoah

"Kwame Nkrumah: The One and Only Founding Father of Ghana, l-lll";

"The Fallacies of J.B. Danquah’s Heroic Legacies, l-V";

"K.A. Busia: His Politics of Demagoguery, National Disintegration and Autocracy."

Both authors will lead you to all the relevant primary sources. I have also provided additional resources.

However, regarding Nkrumah's signal role in de-colonizing Africa, see Dr. Ama Biney's book "The Social and Political Thought of Ghana." She's one of Britain's leading Nkrumah scholars.

As well, Dr. Biney gives tons of primary resources covering private admissions and public statements by Africa's foremost nationalist leaders regarding their indebtedness to Nkrumah (and his ideas) as far as liberating the continent of Africa.

I have also provided primary sources on how Nkrumah and his ideas aided America's Civil Rights Movement. Both Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcom X, to name but two, made this abundantly clear in their speeches and writings. You may want to see my series "What Amiri Baraka Said About Kwame Nkrumah" for more details.

In the end, the primary sources will inform any reader that Nkrumah is indeed "the one and only founding father of Ghana." Even of Africa.

Let me sum it up for you, Brother SAS, courtesy of Amara Essy, an Interim Chairman of the AU Commmission:

"When we mention Nkrumah, we have summed up in one name the appeal of all our heroes and precursors who, from the embryonic stage of Pan-Africanism to the doors of our present situation, have embodied our thrust for justice and dignity."

This is what, I believe, Dr. Kwame Botwe-Asamoah's work on Nkrumah is fundamentally about. Once again you may have to closely read Drs. Botwe-Asamoah's classic work on Nkrumah ("Kwame Nkrumah's Politico-Cultural Thought Policies") and Ama Biney's ("The Politcal and Social Thought of Kwame Nkrumah) for the influences on Nkrumah.

It is only then that you should realize the overwhelming historical evidence and my fundamental views here do not detract from Dr. Bowte-Asamoah's.

I still believe you have to take a closer look at the references I gave in this particular essay and those I have mentioned elsewhere!

On the other hand, I may give you a call at the appropriate time to discuss them in appreciable detail if that is acceptable by you. We have not spoken in a while, you will recall.

I believe those who don't understand my ideological leanings think you, Dr. SAS, and I are "enemies." They have no idea how "close" you and I are, to the extent of calling each other on the phone and continuing our heated online debates outside Ghanaweb.

I do not make personal enemies of my harsh critics. Those who pay close attention to constructive criticism are bound to be better human beings. Therefore, I have no "enemies" on Ghanaweb. We all come here to educate ourselves as well as to have fun. That is why we need to bring all our ethnicities together.

In fact, readers have no idea that my greatest critic is Dr. Kwame Botwe-Asamoah, Dr. SAS's former professor, who always makes sure my writings are highly readable by the average reader, my facts accurate, etc. He does not impose his ideas on me. He gives me references, asks me to read them, and then calls me to discuss them.

In other words, Dr. Kwame Botwe-Asamoah would rather allow you to read the sources yourself firsthand than to tell you what a particular source says. He believes pupillary investigational independence is more productive than pedagogical authorianiam. This approach to learning is part of the philosphical underpinnings of Paulo Freire's famous book "Pedagogy of the Oppressed." I have discussed this book in some of my articles.

Thankfully I have had a few professors as intellectually capable and analytically rigorous as Dr. Kwame Botwe-Asamoah.

Anyway, Brother SAS, I am going back to re-read your questions again. I shall definitely come back again if my original response did not exhaust your questions. And thanks for reining Obaa Yaa and others in. These isolated readers have no clue that I am not ethnocentric!

You have answered Brother SAS' questions from an academic/publicational point of view.

I would like to answer them from a political point of view as a member of CPP in remembrance of CPP Odum Hayford Akrofi who was murdered in Ghana this week.

(1) Nkrumah's abrogation of due process,

The CPP Government never abrogated due process while in office until its illegal overthrow. All CPP policy actions/decisions were based on the laws of Ghana.

(2) his incarceration of his opponents,

The CPP Government did not incarcerate any Ghanaian without due process. All Ghanaians have a right to life; and it was the electoral mandate of CPP to protect human life. This is what the CPP Government did. Those who were incarcerated were because they either violated the human rights of other Ghanaians or broke the law. In the case of JB Danquah he was a CIA spy, never won an election and even his own nephew who was CPP Minister for Justice did not free him.

(3)his banning of books,

The CPP Government did not ban books. It does not ban books.

(4) his declaration of life presidency,

The CPP Party or some of its leading members (NOT THE CPP GOVERNMENT) conferred life presidency on President Nkrumah but Nkrumah himself did not confer life presidency on himself. CPP at the time did not believe that life presidency was in itself wrong.

(5) and his usurpation of the sacred powers of the judiciary.

The CPP Government was composed of the Executive, the Juidiciary and Parliament.

All powers derive from the people of Ghana.

Only the powers of the people, the sovereignty of Ghanaians or Ghana's nationalities is sacred. The people of Ghana have the right to do whatever they like through their elected governments including changing any laws even the constitution.

(6) Dictator
The CPP Government won elections. The CPP Government did not effect any dictatorship on Ghana. All decisions including the one-party state were democratically-made decisions. There was a vote which you may take issue with in terms of outcome/process. But CPP always obeyed the laws of Ghana.

And if in office again CPP shall continue to obey the law.

The CPP and its Presidential candidates have never been above the laws of Ghana though the CPP with the support of the chiefs and people of created the unitary state of Ghana.

Philosphical consciencism is not a cultural compromise.

It is Afrika's own authentic philosophy that by-passes the parallel idealism-materialism opposition in Western Philosophical and Historial Thought.

But if you want to see it as a cultural compromise that is however fine by me. Culturally.

But FK the reason I am writing is that when I on the other hand came up with "economic consciencism", just as Homer Greene refers to “ethical consciencism,” Lang T.K.A. Nubour took issue with me.

As a Marxist, Lang T.K.A. Nubour said that my terminology of "economic consciencism" was revisionist. He felt it took away from Marxist economics if you like.

But Consciencism goes beyond both liberal and marxist economics. If you like it is a categorial conversion from liberal and marxist economics. But not for die-hard Marxists.

Yes, it is true Dr. Kofi Kissi Dompere's "The Theory of Categorical Conversion: Analytic Foundations of Nkrumahism" is not yet published.

He is nearly done with it and as yet to commence its editing for publication pretty soon. The other point is that he's working on another text as well.

This genius produces two highly complicated texts every year. No one knows how he does it with his heavy teaching schedule and extra-professorial activities.

Having said that, what I have merely tried to do in this series (Part 1-Part 5) is to base the five-part series on a perusal of the book's prologue, table of contents, and preface, which Dr. Kofi Kissi Dompere sent me.

That is, I have not read the book itself or seen a copy of the manuscript yet. More importantly, though, my cursory interpretation of Dr. Dompere's work is partly derived from fruitful discussions I had with Dr. Kwame Botwe-Asamoah and Dr. Kofi Kissi Dompere prior to and simultaneously as I wrote the parts.

Also, both Dr. Dompere and Dr. Botwe-Asamoah guided me as to how to analytically go about discussing Dr. Dompere's text "The Theory of Categorical Conversion: AnalyticFoundations of Nkrumahism" for the average reader to understand. I call(ed) both for detailed discussions whenever I encounter(ed) any difficulty!

Then, I relied on my own engineering, scientific, mathematical, and extensive reading backgrounds to do the rest. Namely, I did a lot of analytic extrapolations from Dr. Dompere's work (prologue, table of contents, preface) and Dr. Botwe-Asamoah's numerous critical explanations. It is why I told readers in Part 4 that Dr. Dompere did not specifically analyze "categorical conversion" in the same mathematical approach I adopted in Part 4.

For instance, Dr. Dompere did use "game theory" and "fuzzy logic" to explore "categorical conversion" while I employed "game theory," "stochastics," and "linear programming" for emphatic measure and analytic simplicity. Stochastics is not fundamentally different from "fuzziness."

Besides, I strategically used "linear programming" because of the common properties it shares with "linear equations" (coordinate geometry), as I also knew an SSS graduate wouldn't have difficuties understanding it. I made that caveat eloquently clear in Part 4. Therefore Dr. Dompere's work is more intricate than anything I have done in this series.

In any case I shall get in touch with you immediately once I post this comment. I have also taken note of your constructive remarks and shall investigate them further.

What is more, my friend CKA, I do not know you personally but I have read Nubour's interpretive disagreements, intellectual exchanges, if you will, pertaining to "Consciencism: Philosophy and Ideology for Decolonization," with another brilliant fellow on the website of the Center for Consciencist Studies and Analyses (CENSCA).

I wish to share a basic fact on the direction Nkrumah was taking Ghana. In the early 1960s it was the norm in the Government Assisted Secondary schools to have at least 66% of the O'Level students being biased to science and mathematics. Today, we see stuff like general arts, visual arts and business studies dominating. Prior, to exams, today's students focus on prayers and chanting instead of "give me the syllabus and show me the library" and critical thinking. It is no wonder that what I refer to as "Ghana's lost brains" were snapped up by the developed countries through scholarship programmes and retained, after we had naively accepted "structural adjustment" schemes. If only we had towed the path of self-reliance, Ghana could have benefited from the newly acquired knowledge and skills of the numerous scientific brains that are scattered all over the globe.

I saw enough about Nkrumah. He earned us independence; but it came because God permitted it. And he was helped by other hard fighting human beings, including other Ghanaians going on strikes, and some paying the ultimate price. He, like all Ghanaians, was very ambitious as you would expect every freed people to be in their newly-found political experiment. We were all charting a new course. Everybody knew we needed schools, hospitals, etc. Nkrumah provided that leadership, but up to a point. I believe that point was reached when he began to see himself a demigod: when he began to distance himself from God. It's true that nobody can keep two gods. So as soon as he conceived himself as a god he began to suppress the importance of knowing or seeking God. Nkrumah said that he believed that some three things should form a minor part in one's life and one of them is organized religion. He dared to lump religion with the remaining two, namely, women and money. And yet he knew the need to ORGANIZE his party.
When one distances himself from God one cannot serve the people; one will surely, irrevocably, fail - it will not matter whether he was scientific or mathematical or whether he was following "mathematicization or equationization of 'categorical conversion.'" or any other meaningless nonsense. Moreover, I don't think Nkrumah considered himself a mathematician or a scientist. In fact, one doesn't have to be either of them to invest in the building of a dam or universities or whatever with the people's money.
Children at elementary schools were forced to join Young Pioneer movements. Wore neckerchiefs, sang his praises, marched all over the school field on certain days of the week. If a parent protested about his/her child for having been detained for young pioneer training after school, the parent risked being arrested. Parents began fearing their own children as some unwary children could turned their parents in. Is this our idea of the proverbial freedom? This kind of limited freedom permeated all aspects of our lives, both political and social. At a certain point, it didn't depend much on your ability or skill but on how much you were prepared to worship Nkrumah.
My point isn't to denigrate him. He did his best to build the country. I love him for whatever God permitted him to do. But the fact is, no one can succeed when he makes other people feel that political rights belong to a few select people and not them.
When one is not anchored in God, one doesn't see around him. Everything is all about oneself, as one thinks that without him, the self-conceived god, nothing can be done: other people aren't capable.
Everything comes apart very soon without the fear of God. And even our own science and mathematics can be a quick means to our destruction. We should know, however, that God doesn't deal with us as our sins deserve. For God can undo a whole civilization in a minute (If you would have been a victim of Katrina and come back to life you would understand). However, we will all surely see in the last day.
When you quoted the Bible, you didn't seem to know or understand what you were saying. The Scripture is nowhere saying that if you are a Christian, you should be looking for snakes to test yourself on. No. Not at all. In fact, you should not test the Lord your God. But, if in the course of your "life in God," you happen to be bitten by a snake, don't be afraid. God will take care of you like He did for Paul. For God knows your motives, whether you're testing Him or not.
Another thing noteworthy is that not everybody seeking God is on par with the requirements of God. And when our sins are hiding us from Him, we can't get His help at the time of need. For God rewards those who earnestly seek Him. The Scripture says, if you are crooked, He, too, will be shrewd.
Be careful not to extoll Nkrumah at the expense of God. I wish you would have the wisdom of using the energy and life God has lent you in directly serving Him by helping to build his Kingdom as a servant expecting to be rewarded eternally rather than spending all this effort on equally senseless Kofi Dompere's work which, unbelievably, he has not even published. And who's the other man - Kwame Botwe-Asomoah. Are you guys actually in the business of self-advertisement? That's like people who are looking for fulfillment which is illusive outside a deep relationship with God.
Should I say: the Three Musketeers or The Four Musketeers (Counting Nkrumah)?
