Is U.S.A the third largest country in the World?
The man is talking about people who play football not the physical size of countries. So he means population from which people will play and watch football. And USA is the third largest!
In the days of Baba Yara Osei Kofi CK Gyamfi played football on purely sacrificial basis. Osei Kofi got contracts to play abroad but he refused. But today million of dollars must be flown before a game is played, Na wow.
Really!
Great piece of journalism. Quite nostalgic!
who cares about this article. I did not read. All i care right now is that Dr James Kwesi Appiah is fired or he resigns.
We have been falling in the FIFA ranking since he became coach if the BS. If he has any integrity, he will resign and not wait to be fired. But with corrupt officials in the FGA, I am not sure they will do the right thing.
Nice piece, well done

Great article, traing football from its very beginnings and where we have come to. Kudos Kofi.
The first team formed in Ghana was Accra Super Standfast in 1909 and not Hearts of Oak which was formed in 1911. Thanks
You're right, Hearts was not the first team formed in the Gold Coast. I didn't say that either. Hearts is the oldest surviving club side in the country today. All the clubs formed before hearts, like The Invincibles and Super ...

he has forgotten about real republicans as well. gone are the days when foot ball was real.
All this because of the mediocrity coach AA who sees his play maker as the best no.3...bench warmer as his no.1 goalkeeper...rough player as his best no.6..Why opposite directions???
mugu yaro, I didn't forget Real Republicans. That was in the 60s and I didn't discuss the teams of those days. The article was already too long. Ghanaians old enough those days will never forget OOC - Osagyefo's Own Club. Peo ...
