If you take the time and effort to condemn Islamist terrorism wherever it occurs, you will wean yourself off your patent hypocrisy and cultivate a good audience for your cause.
You have a point in stating that Israel was established under very dubious circumstances; but should it now be destroyed? Does that fact alone give any sacred authority to anyone to launch rockets into the country and kill its citizens?
The solution has nothing to do with what our Muslim brothers and the Jewish community do or don't do, but at least promoting hatred in Ghana goes against our cultural heritage. It is a little thing that Ghanaian Muslims accepted a gift from their Jewish counterparts, but in a big way, the small gesture points the way to co-existence and peaceful neighborliness, something eluding the author and those two states caught in perpetual conflict.

Count how many innocent souls 'Islamic Militants' - evil men and agents of Satan - have killed this year alone in Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Nigeria, Somalia and most recently in Afghanistan (where a suicide bomb attack killed over 100 women and children in a market)and you will understand what Islam really is.

Whilst I pity poor souls like Abdul Fatawu who has been brainwashed by Arabs since childhood to think that Allah is 'God' and therefore must be worshipped, the reality is that mankind is at the mercy of a great evil called Islam.

Men of goodwill all over the world and Christians in particular must pray hard for the saviour of mankind, Jesus Christ to deliver us from this evil (the last sentence of the Lord's prayer) or we shall perish at the hands of the Boko Harams, Al-Shabaabs, Al-Qaedas, ISIS, HAMAS etc roaming about like lions seeking to destroy humanity.

When no rockets were fired the expansion of the settlements continued, the blockade of Gaza by land sea and air continued and the daily collective humiliation of the Palestinian continued.

The Stern Gang ( A jewish terror group) bombed the King David Hotel in Palestine which forced the British to beat a hasty retreat and abandon any structured assimilation of the Jews into Palestine. What happened was the brutal ransacking and driving away of Palestinians , their olive groves destroyed, their lands confiscated and homes , and some of whom have keys to their homes and to this day have been denied the right to return. Had the tables been turned the other way we would be talking about return of STOLEN Jewish property with INTEREST.

Justice is what is required not so called elusive peace. There is also the principle of proportionality. Why bomb hospitals with bed ridden patients who have nowhere to go? Oppressed people resort to measures we call terrorism but who is the greatest terrorist of them all?

I'm told places populated by christians or christian homes are used as launching grounds to fire missiles into Israel by fatah with the aim that when the Jews fire back, the christian population will be one to bear the ramification. Muslims are not worth sympathizing with. They will at the end persecute those who sympathized with them and assisted them in their pain as long as you don't belong to their religion.
I think those who condemn Israel for its so called oppression must also condemn Islamic states for their oppression of non-muslims if they want to be taken seriously. And let's start by calling on Saudi Arabia to permit non-muslims the freedom of not only worship but building of their worship centers. Politicians of Africa and the world over have been too silent on Islamic apartheid. Let's begin to talk now.

Did Israel just get up one day and say we will occupy Gaza? I bet not. Who started the 1967 war that led to these Palestinian territories being occupied? as a small State surrounded by hostile populous nations did it not occur to you that they needed a buffer to protect themselves.

A lot of people also support the Israeli cause in the world.
Churches are being burnt in Muslim countries, Christians are denied the right to express their faith but Muslims mushroom everywhere.
I do not see a peaceful religion here and if by a token gesture, the Israelis are reaching out the door should not be slammed in their face.

For the first time in the 1200 years history of the Church in Mosul, Northern Iraq, Christians were not allowed by Islamic militant group called ISIS to attend church service ISIS has taken control of all churches in Mosul. I have nothing against this writer! However, on a personal note I will like to condemn the thoughts and wrong thinking Abdul Fatawu Fuseini for spewing garbage. I am not sure if Abdul is a Muslim from any of the three northern regions of Ghana. If he does, then I must tell him to apologize to the cleric who received the items on behalf of the poor northerners. Look at the poverty in the north? The ambassador has compassion for desperate and neglected citizens of the north. Now, let me put this out there for people to judge. The following tribes from the north could co-exist for 1000 years without any trouble of its kind namely: dagarti, frafra, kangena, grusi etc. The other tribes which constitutes the Muslim majority are causing a lot of troubles and raising panic among Ghanaians. I wish the above tribes could live separate from the trouble Muslim group. Personally, I am a dagarti from the Upper West region and I can say with unequivocal that all these tribes mentioned above are living peaceful except the Muslim group from Tamale and Bawku. Thank God the Muslims in my region are quite peaceful. Even with that I am very careful with them because they are not to be trusted. Tamale has never been calm for so many years and there is no signs of peace. I want to know how Islam end up in the north? The person who introduce Islam in the regions has brought more harm than good. Government is spending too much money to bring peace to Tamale and Bawku. Every month there is a conflict in Tamale or Bawku and government will deploy police personnel to go and cool down matters. 99% of the accuse and victims are all bearing Muslims names. Has Abdul ever help a poor person in the north? He must be shame to himself.

The colonial masters prevented christian missionaries from reaching the North of Ghana with the gospel because they feared they will introduce western education to us, something they had banned in the North. As a result, the North became a free field for Hausa traders from Nigeria to convert our people. They often started by converting the village chief and his household and elders will follow suit. Later, the entire community will accept Islam because their chief and elders have accepted. Eventually, the religion will define the culture of the people, and anyone who refused to become a muslim will become an outcast. This was compelling enough to get everyone to become a muslim in the village. Later on, people born into Islamatised tribes in the north become loyal to Islam and naturally sympathetic to Arabs, to the extent of wanting to die for Arabs in case of any war between Arabs and any nation, even including their own country.

Most of these Muslims in the north with the root of Nigeria and Burkina Faso have given bad impression of the north in regard to violent and criminality. Killings and burning of houses has become common in the Tamale and Bawku area there for decades. The only history I know about the Muslims in Wa the Upper West is that most of them hailed from Burkina Faso. That is what our grandfathers told us. I wish we could convert all of them to Christianity or something just like my two friends had changed from Muslims to Christianity. They are now living comfortable and enjoying life.

Are islamic leaders serious at all? there should learn from Christians who go to hospitals, schools, orphanages etc to donate during Xmass and easter or festive period meaning the less privilege.

Your headline was very inappropriate, but you would have been right if you advocated for a the donation as a chance to engage the Israeli's in discussion of bringing an end to the siege on Gaza. Definitely the donation was a publicity stunt.

There are some very good things that are inherent in Islam but there are also some bad things that are in the nature of the religion itself. The unfortunate thing is that most Muslims do not want to face the truth about the double-nature of the religion but continue thinking that the religion itself is good but only some of the followers are bad. If a religion is good, NONE of its followers can be bad.

This is not a problem for only Islam. It is a problem for all religions that are man made - including Islam. Islam is not different from the other religions because it is also man-made. Only Muslims think Islam was not man-made but it is. All religions are man-made no matter the claims of the adherents.

The problem in the Middle East is intractable because BOTH SIDES have done wrong over the years and cannot see to live peacefully together. Today, the power balance seems to be in favour of Israel. If it were in favour of the Palestinians, they would also do the same thing to Israelis. Many Palestinians still don't want Israel to exist as a nation but the point is that BOTH Israelis and Palestinians have rights to exist as free nations practising their separate religions and systems. That is what the rest of the world has to struggle for, not support one side against the other.

The bad things that Christians did (and are still doing) in the name of their religion have also been done (and are still being done) by Islam too. My thesis is that it is because BOTH religions are man made. You agree yourself that we are but human. Anything that is man made is bound to have shortcomings and weaknesses. That is why BOTH Christianity and Islam have strengths and weaknesses.

I maintain that anything that is really really really made by "the hand of God" will have absolutely no weaknesses. Human beings will even be incapable of imposing their weak human nature on such a thing.

Mariama, I know you won't agree because your religion requires of you (by force) to accept without questioning that there is only one God and Mohammed is His messenger.

But Islam needs to review some of its grounding principles. In short, Islam requires a Reformation.

In the end, we are human beings as you said and we don't know anything. So we should all strive to live together in peace.
