Just look at his reshuffle and his cabinet together with his choice of appointees . I say to you they would be better off in a Jerry Springer show just to emphasize the extreme stupidity that exists in every country , just that in the USA such characters would never make it to the White house like in Ghana . A president with 17 children and God knows how many women claims he has good intentions , is honest and with integrity , his ministers are busy looting the coffers like homies from the Bronx let into the fort Knox vaults . Chief directors of ministries who have their hands our requesting for bribes for no work done . Party officials like gen mosquito and boateng gyan supporting this ludicrous govt just because it keeps their party in power . The opposition being infected by this ndc madness so is on an ego trip of personality cult heave-hoes instead of being united so the two strongest personalities can not se that its best that whoever wins chooses the other as his vice . All of them together say we Akan nationalists are merely tribalists as they don't understand or see the difference . Yes its a sorry state of affairs and in this tragedy we don't know whether to cry or laugh . There are so many idiots in the cabinet and corridors of power that it makes one wonder how come things got turned upside down then we remember it started with jj rawlings and his anti Akan hate agenda leading to the ongoing discrimination of the Akans so our wise men and diaspora do not have the opportunity to assist in finding solutions or participating in governance . yes we have a situation whereby idiots keep congratulating themselves on no work done and the mess they have so gleefully caused . Jerry Springer no need to search for an audience or candidates for your show just visit the presidency and you will have enough material for the next 50 years .

  You wonder that this same man who had no respect for these judges is seeking their interpretation of the constitution.
  
  I complexly agree with with JK Borkor.Asare's intentions are actuated by dishonourable motives.He is playing politics with a serious matter that he is unqualified to claim authority on.Professor Dankwah unlike Ahoofe and Asare is a tried and tested academic.His title is unlike the high school teachers who labelled themselves professors.
  
  Asare must give us a break from his drinking bouts which make him come out occasional to disturb our peace with his politically tainted arguments.The pathetic thing is that he is a legal lightweight and only seeking attention.

The Supreme Court is not there to point out flows in the constitution , preside over it and pass amendments. They are to interpret based on their understanding of the CONSTITUTION.

  The constitution is clear on the proper procedures in amending it. What the Danquah committee has done so far are not in violation of any part of the constitution insofar as the committee has limited itself to the ministerial exercise of sourcing input from the general public on a possible amendment to the constitution. But the committee will be going against the constitution were it to organize a referendum to effectuate any amendments to the constitution. In this particular respect, it can only conduct opinion polls in any area of importance to it.
  But so far, nothing done by the committee forms a legal basis for anybody to contend that it is about to hold a referendum or act in any way to impose constitutional amendments on Ghanaians.
  The basis of Prof. Asare’s suit appears to be that the committee is not legally established and that it is about to organize a referendum at some future time on certain issues. It is my position that the committee is constitutionally established as per the enumerated powers of Chapter 23. And concerning the referendum, the chairman’s statement alone is not enough to justify a lawsuit. The committee should take a concatenation of actions to further the usurpation of parliamentary powers as set out in Chapter 25 before it could be properly sued. In other word, professor Asare’s suit is premature and should be dismissed by the Supreme Court on the judicial philosophy of lacking ripeness.

  Mike, I find your attacks on Prof Asare very unfortunate. First, I must declare that Prof Asare is a good friend of mine and we were classmates in secondary schools but I am not here to defend him.
  
  When it comes to the interpretation and application of the Constitution, any Ghanaian citizen who goes to the SC for clarification and interpretation should be applauded because it strengthens constitutional democracy. Again, Prof Asare has won some important constitutional cases at the SC that has inured to the benefit of many Ghanaians, particularly, the May 2012 Dual Citizenship ruling by the SC.
  
  I also disagree that his intentions are political or to embarrass the president. His sole objective is to seek clarification on how the Constitution should and ought to be amended.
  
  From my discussions with him and the suit, I agree with him that, it is dangerous to leave the amendment of the Constitution in the hands of the Executive. That would lead to a situation where the Executive would change the constitution any time it finds some sections that are not to its liking and therefore leads to cherry picking. In fact, he demonstrated this with the Government's White Paper on the ongoing exercise. The Executive picked those recommendations they find favourable to them, changed some and issue a white paper. A good example is the election/appointment of Metropolitan and District Chief Executives.
  
  It also unfair to accuse him of wanting to seek publicity on himself by making public his SC suit. In fact, the media in Ghana should have informed Ghanaians about this important constitutional matter. He was forced by circumstances to make the suit public. That is, after the parties (the Executive) have been served with the suit, they continued to act as if nothing has happened. It is also not true that he waited till the eleventh hour to try to stop the work of the Constitution Review Implementation Committee. To the best of my knowledge, he made efforts to draw the attention of the authorities concerned but he was ignored.
  
  Mike, I am also not a lawyer but it is wrong for you to assume that the Judiciary could have intervened in the ongoing constitution review arrangements if they felt it was unconstitutional. The Judiciary is not the legal adviser to the Executive. That is the role of the Attorney General. It is only when the case is raised with the Judiciary that they can interpret the law and give their ruling.
  
  We may disagree with Prof Asare but it is very unfortunate to subject what he has done to political and personal attacks. We should allow the SC to adjudicate on this case because it will strengthen constitutional democracy in Ghana (whoever wins).
  
  We should also remember that, often people say the Executive in Ghana, especially, the President has too much power. Such concentration of Executive power could be injurious to democracy, good governance and the rule of law if not exercised judiciously. This and other governments under the Fourth Republic continue to breach the constitution. For example, the current government has failed to comply with SC decisions and usurp Legislative powers. Just consider how the President rushed to turn the "Ayariga Committee" to investigate the Black Stars' failure at the 2014 World Cup into a Commission just to stop the Legislature from instituting a bi-partisan committee to look into the matter. That is clear usurpation of Legislative powers by the Executive. Even the Speaker described the President's action as "in bad faith").
  
  Lastly, the Legislature is weak and almost an appendix of the Executive as the same political parties hold majority in the Legislature as well as the Executive office. For these reasons, any effort to improve the separation of powers between the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary should be good for Ghana and should be encouraged.

  Without parliament there cannot be any amendment of the constitution because a bill must go to to them and initiated a select parliamentarian committee of experts for the parliamentary due process.
  
  It is fair to accuse him of bad motives because this petition is an obvious failure.It can not stand the test of scrutiny.

Bokor must show some tolerance. His attitute here is just distasteful

  Come in the late President Mills and efforts began being made to identify problematic areas for amendment; hence the establishment of the Constitution Review Commission……’’’
  Bokor should know NDC intrigues towards NPP initiatives. Some issues are left for NDC to commence for it to grow. For instance NPP started ROPAAL and NDC bastardised it. The day NDC will accept it, ROPAAL will work in Ghana. NPP started free SHS and NDC bastardised it. As soon as NDC accepted it the operations towards free SHS are being proceesed for implementation.. NPP started Jubilee house and NDC bastardized it until there was no point sticking to their stupid position. NPP started National Identification but this laudable idea has still not seen the light. The day NDC will embrace it fully everything about it will be accelerated. In other words, if NPP had started moves to amend portions of the constitution in Kufuor time, NDC would have bastardised it. Everybody knows that some controversial parts of the constitution need amendment. The atmosphere would dictate that it was best for Mills to have started the amendment process. NPP could not have done that in NDC hostility culture. It was up to Mills to do that in NPP responsible culture—and which Mills did. For instance, the capital must be removed from Accra but NPP cannot start that initiative in NDC hostility culture. . The day NDC sees the light; the idea to relocate the capital will be popular. No EC reform can ever see the day unless NDC accepts it, check out. Bokor should look at the historical intrigues in Ghana politics before he criticises. Bokor is acting blind.. . NDC times are the best in Ghana. NDC are dictating the pace of everything and NPP have to act and follow as ‘fools’ to let things work peacefully in Ghana. I don’t know but my uncle believes It’s because of envy, hatred and jealousy dictated by some tribalism. Bokor must come again
